Horizontal scroll in pdf

I am trying to create a pdf which will contain 35 cloumns. But after some column, other columns are discarded from pdf. What steps will I follow for making a pdf with 35 cloumns?
Please help or please direct me.
Thanks,
Ripa Saha

A PDF is a print document and as such is restricted to print dimensions. Just like with Excel, or Photoshop, if your document is larger than a printed page, it will either break it up into multiple pages, or it will only print the top left corner of content that will fit into a single page.
Unless you can fit all 35 columns into an area no more than 7.5 inches wide (an 8.5 X 11 page minus 1/2" margins) you will HAVE to put it on separate pages.

  • REG:: Horizontal scroll bar for pdf

    Dear All,
    I am displaying data in a table in Portal and this table has 13 columns in it. I am writing all this data from the table to a PDF and I am able to generate a PDF.
    This generated PDF clips the data on the right side, i.e. it shows few columns only.
    I need to have the horizontal scroll bar for the generated pdf output file.
    Can anyone guide me how to achieve this.
    Regards,

  • No Horizontal Scroll Bar in Zoomed Preview pdf

    When I zoom into a pdf in Preview, I don't get a horizontal scroll bar so can't move around to offscreen parts of the document.  Anyone else experiencing this or know a solution?

    Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • Horizontal Scrolling

    Hey guys, I'm trying to make a section of my web page scroll horizontally. I have found several working examples of this but they all make the entire <body> tag scrollable. I want just the blue outlined section in the following image to scroll and for everything else, including the background, to stay fixed to the page.
    You can visit the live site at http://www.kylelord.com. I will also include the code to the body section here to make it easier but you can view the source on the live site if you'd rather.

    After researching horizontal scrolling on some sites it seems that I will have to use JQuery to add a "smooth scrolling" effect the page. I also plan to add a link that will lead to an anchor that will exist outside of the visible area (to the right), that is when I plan for the scrolling effect to take place. I want it to animate by scrolling from right to left all the way to the anchor that is linked to. Here are some links to sites I have read up about it on. They also demonstrate the type of effect that I want.

    It may be an easy fix but I don't have much experience with JavaScript or JQuery. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. I would not object to alternate ideas.

    Place all you want to scroll inside of a movieclip, and give it a instace of dragMe, then paste this code into your timeline
    var ease:int = 6;
    var targY:int = dragMe.x;
    var drag:Boolean = false;
    var ptY:Number = 0;
    dragMe.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, dragHandler, false, 0, true);
    dragMe.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, downHandler, false, 0, true);
    stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, upHandler, false, 0, true);
    function dragHandler(e:Event):void
              if (drag)
                        targY = mouseX + ptY;
              e.target.x +=  (targY - e.currentTarget.x) / ease;

  • Horizontal scrolling. Help with large images.

    Putting together a .pdf publication for iPad.
    I have content that fits a standard iPad format BUT I also have these very long timelines (170cm x 21 cm). These need to be displayed zoomed in -  with the reader swiping right to accessing the remainder of the content. So a horizontal scroll! Whenever I test it on the iPad it display the full image (so zoomed out and tiny). The other images are displaying fine.
    So how do I make sure I view them as I require?
    Thanks!

    I also need this feature, to view and mark up street plans that are long narrow landscape format pages with "match lines" at the left and right sides.  What I want is similar to Acrobat's existing "Enable Scrolling" -- but in the horizontal direction.  Planners need this for road and path plans.  Musicians and composers need this for viewing multi-page sheet music so they can browse the entire "timeline" of the piece.  And as the OP notes, schedule planners need this for reviewing timelines such as Gantt charts.
    Adobe, please add this feature.  I'll gladly pay for an upgrade (currently using Acrobat Pro XI Mac).

  • Scrollable frame ignores 'horizontal scroll only' on iPad3

    Has anyone else come across this issue.. I have a 1024x788 folio article set to PDF. It renders nicely on both iPad 2 and iPad3, but scrollable frames set to 'horizontal scroll only' (which work perfectly on iPad2) still scroll vertically as well as horizontally on iPad3.  The images pasted into the scrollable frame are cropped top and bottom. Making the frame the same height as the images works, but doesn't explain the difference between the two iPads.

    Hi Felipe,
    There are multiple reasons for choosing HTML articles instead of indd.
    1. size. imagine around 20 pages of this content. the background pattern alone is in html one 4x8px gif repeated from HTMLResources, whereas in indesign it would be a picture of the whole canvas on each page on every 20 pages.
    2. stylesheets. If i feel that the headers need to be in a different font or size, i can change the one stylesheet in my HTMLResources instead of opening 20 indd files.
    3. Speed in desking job. It takes me not even a quarter of the time to insert all the content into the html articles compared to indd. Indesign is a much clunkier and heavier program to use than notepad.
    I could go on, but I guess its no point in this thread..

  • Visual Composer table horizontal scroll bar

    Hi Experts,
    is it possible to have horizontal scroll bar in visual composer iview?
    is it possible to lock initial n columns from scroll in VC iview?
    if possible the pls tell how?
    Thanks in advance
    Anupam

    Hi Anupam..
    The below info may helps you .......
    Visual Composer produces applications in a declarative form, thereby enabling completely code-free execution mode for multiple runtime environments. It provides full application lifecycle support by maintaining the connection between an application and its model throughout its lifecycle. Visual Composer is designed with an open architecture, which enables developers to extend its design-time environment and modeling language, as well as to integrate external data services.
    As a result, Visual Composer modelers increase productivity by reducing their development effort time from weeks and months to days. Domain experts gain the means to express their requirements directly rather than conveying them to developers. This narrows the gap between application definition and implementation.
    Starting with a blank canvas, the Visual Composer user draws the application in Visual Composer Storyboard (workspace), without writing a single line of code. Since no traditional programming skills are needed, business process experts can prototype, design and produce entire applications.
    A typical workflow for creating, deploying and running an application using Visual Composer is:
    Create a model
    Discover data services and add them to the model
    Select necessary UI elements and add them to the model
    Connect model elements to define the model logic and data flow
    Edit the layout
    Arranging the UI elements and the controls of the application on forms and tables.
    Deploy the model
    This step includes compilation, validation and deployment to a selected environment.
    Run the application
    The application can run using different runtime environment (such as Adobe Flex and HTML)

  • Custom Horizontal Scroll Bar position on File Open

    Fellow Forum Members,
    I have a lot of PDF files that I want to open in a special way. I want them to open at 150% ZOOM and this was easy enough to setup in the PREFERENCES window.
    However, what is proving to be a big problem is changing how the horizontal scroll bar has a default position all the way to the left. My objective is to have the horizontal scroll bar positioned all the way to the right and at a 150% everytime I open a PDF file.
    The Preferences window doesn't seem to have a horizontal scroll bar position on open setting. Can anyone help me out and tell me how such a custom setting is possible with Acrobat 9 Extended? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

  • Help with code for inserting horizontal scroll bar in photo gallery in Business Catalyst site?

    Hi,
    I am using Business Catalyst and Dreamweaver to create a trial site.
    I am not sure if this is the correct forum to post this request but anyway I have inserted a photo gallery module at the bottom of the sidebar in the homepage of my test site.
    Can anyone advise on whether jquery or any other code can be inserted into the page or module code that will replace the "next" hyperlink below the first 4 photos with a horizontal scroll bar at bottom of the gallery so users can just scroll through all 12 images ?
    Kind Regards, Matt.

    Alyssa,
    Have you tried putting this rule back as it was originally:
    /* Submenu that is showing with class designation MenuBarSubmenuVisible, we set left to auto so it comes onto the screen below its parent menu item */
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal ul.MenuBarSubmenuVisible
        left: auto; /*was 9px*/
        color: #EF9CCF;
        background-color: #FFF;
    That is, changing your 9px back to auto.
    And giving  us a link (as you did) is much better than printing out the code for us! Thanks!

  • How to get the Horizontal Scroll Bar for a Table?

    Hi All,
    As per my requirement, I am displaying several records in a Screen in a Tabular Format. But here I have to show 21 Columns in that table which is too high. I am able to display it but due to it I am getting a Horizontal scroll bar for the whole screen since all the columns are not getting displayed in the normal window screen space. But its looking too odd since once I am scrolling it to right the columns are getting displayed but the above Header Bar and Global buttons are not displaying, they are bound to the normal screen space.
    Is there a way to have a Horizontal scroll bar only for that table instead of the entire screen so that on scrolling that bar only the table rows will beshifted ant got displayed?
    With Thanks
    Kumar Gautam

    try this approach.
    include a raw text item before and table item.
    include the appropriate HTML tags in raw text item to enable horizontal scroll

  • Expand horizontal scroll panel on both sides for a zoom in effect

    Hi,
    I'm creating an interactive timeline with Flash Catalyst. It is set up as a long horizontal scroll panel which contains buttons that link to states with photos and text about historic events. One feature I would like to include is a zoom feature, like the one found on the bbc British history timeline (http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/interactive/timelines/british/index_embed.shtml ). E.g., when you click on a colored section of the horizontal scroll panel it will zoom in to view that timeframe in more detail.
    The problem I'm running into is that I can't expand the scroll panel to the left. So, I can go into edit mode for the scrolling content, create a second state, and enlarge the scrolling content in that second state to create a zoom in effect. However, because the scrolling content will only expand to the right, I can't line up the interaction correctly.
    Is there a workaround for this in Flash Catalyst?

    have a peek at this:
    on the left, the corner radius (the red line) is enough to create a curve on the inside of the stroke. on the right, it isn't large enough.
