Horizontal sub navigation

Hi
When I use the horizontal menu widget, by default sub navigation is vertical drop downs
Am I able to have the sub navigation horizontal too?
My aim is to have the navigation fit into 2 tinted horizontal bars at the head of the page
Thank you

I'm interested in doing something similar with my vertical menu's, but I found that using the "Manual" menu type just allows me to create the hyperlinks I desire just as you suggested, however, it does NOT allow me to define my own structure.  I have found that once you select "Vertical" or "Horizontal" menu at the start, you are now stuck with this structure.  This is frustrating for me because I want to start off with a vertical menu structure, then use a self-defined structure for my sub-menu's. The only move I can make with my vertical menu's is to rearrange the order of the menu boxes within the vertical structure.  I really would like to place the sub-menu boxes anywhere on the page, but I have yet to figure this out.  Selecting "Manual" menu type doesn't allow you change from a vertical menu structure to a horizontal menu structure, or the opposite.  If this option is not available, then I'll submit a new feature request.
Thank you!
Kris

  • Horizontal sub-menu - can you help?

I'd like to make a horizontal sub-menu appearing under a
horiziontal root menu (rather than the usual vertical drop-down
menu) - can this be done?
I know I could do this type of menu using Flash but I'd
rather not contain the navigation for the site in a .swf file - not
    very user-friendly.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Mouse Hover Color in Horizontal Dropdown Navigation

    Hi,
Mouse Hover color in the Horizontal Dropdown Navigation scheme is not changed even if you apply a different stylesheet. It remains the default blue. Is there a setting some where or it needs to be modified in the navigation scheme.
    thanks
    -Sachin

    Sachin,
Are you talking about the mouse hover color for the dropdown menu entries? That stylesheet class is defined in a different stylesheet. Look in
    <imageserver dir>\imageserver\plumtree\common\private\js\jsportalmenus\122846\styles\css\PTPMMenu.css.
The number might be different on your system. If you view the HTML source on a portalpage and search for PTPMMenu.css you will see the number your portal is using. The styleclasses you want to change in PTPMMenu.css are .PTPMMenuBody .hoverand .PTPMMenuBody .hover td. You might also need to change other classes with the highlight color depending on the type of entries you have in your menus.

  • Sub Navigation

    Hi All,
I'm trying to create a portal with primary and sub navigation bars. EBCC allows
me to create a primary navigation bar (portal pages). Clicking each tab in the
primary navigation bar, different sub navigation tabs will be displayed. Does
anyone know how to create a sub navigation bar under primary portal pages (tabs)?
Thanks for your help in advance

We had to custom build it for our portal. We also had to customize the adminstration
console to manage the sub nav.

  • Sub navigation ease

Just started using muse for wireframing and am loving it so far. The automatic pseudo flow chart it creates is super helpful, and this will save so much time vs. omnigraffle etc. My only real frustration so far is the navigation widgets and not having the ability to just show the sub navigation on its own and be automatically generated. For example on some interior pages i would like the sub nav on its own always displayed. It's possible to replicate the menus manually, but it seems very time intensive and frustrating with extensive revisions. If that feature is added this would be a remarkable tool for wireframing out large complex sites and become widely adopted in the professional industry.  http://www.avdel-global.com/en/products/breakstem-fasteners/avibulbr.html

We had to custom build it for our portal. We also had to customize the adminstration

  • Muse / Sub-Navigation: How can I create a sub-navigation under the main navi - BOTH levels in HORIZONTAL direction???

More specific: I want to create a two-level navigation, whit both levels in horizontal direction.
    Example:
    1st level:    Products,
    2nd level:  Type 1, Type 2, Type 3 etc

    Dear rohit776,
enclosed two screenshots. First upper one is showing how I want to do it.
Problem is: It is build completely manually and it does not work. When clicking on References it directs to a blank side and of course the main navi point (References) should be highlighted while I select between the three sub-points.
The second screenshot shows how my structure looks like. Here the masters are including duplicates (therefore they doubled)

  • Horizontal Spry Menu Bar with Horizontal Sub Menu

I have created a horizontal menu bar with only one main menu item leading to a sub menu. I would like this sub menu to display horizontally also, instead of vertically as added by default.
I am relatively new to dreamweaver and would appreciate any help possible.

Came across the fix by accident thru extensions in menu bar,
and choice of cursor for each section. Feeling happy! Happy New
    Year everyone.

  • Horizontal menu with horizontal sub menu using image rollovers or similar

    Hello,
I am brand new to web design and working on my first site.  What I lack in skills, I have in free time to learn right now : ) Please let me know if there is a tutorial or other resource that describes what I am trying to do...I've been searching for days and just can't find what I'm after.
The design concept is a menu of main categories that apear to be floating over an object.  When you hover over one, it looks like it gets pressed down in space resulting in the next line populating with subcategories to be selected.  If you click on the main elements, you would be directed to that page - Services for instance.  If you just hovered over a main category, you would be presented with a list of sub-categories that behave in the same fashion.  If you then clicked on one of the sub-categories, you would be taken to that specific page.
Here's a sequence of images that show what I'm after.
I built all this in Illustrator as described in a Lynda.com tutorial.  I then exported slices to dreamweaver and started building content.  Each of the categories and sub categories is a separate slice with images built for the rollovers.  I was able to build the main categories and get them to visually sink upon using an imageswap...now I'm stuck on how to get the second line to behave as I described.
This is a fun learning experience.  Let me know if there is a better way to achieve the design.  I just stared investigating SSIs as well and see the value in having this menu in just one place, referenced into all my subsequent pages.  I have successfully embeded an SSI footer with rollovers on my page, but this menu problem is really tough for me.
    I really appreciate any pointers.
    Thanks,
    Jeff Prince

I tried building a Spry Horizontal menu to get what I want, but I had no success there.  Any tips for that?
On a separate note...I do not know if it is proper to use a 'tabbed panel' for my menu project, but it seems to work fine.  I have built both the top (main category) and bottom (sub category) lines of my menu using spry with .png image rollovers.
Now I just need to find out how to make the main category button rollover stay 'down' while browsing the subcategories.  I would also like to get the subcategories to populate upon mouseover of the main category, without requiring a selection.  Now that would be slick : )  In my example above, the 'services' title should be depressed while in that submenu and look like 'landscape design'.
One minor problem is the space created between my subcategory images.  I can't find the .css or .js that is creating that space.  I've really trimmed down all the .css and do not know where else to hunt.
    Thanks for any advice,
    Jeff

  • Horizontal sub menu in ie, need vertical?

Built a SpryMenuBarHorizontal with one sub menu. Works fine in all browers except ie.In ie sub menu is horizontal instead of vertical.
    Any help?
    Thanks

I put your page through the validator:
    http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Foptionsclinic.net%2Ffirst_step.ht ml
Main problem it identified was "end tag for "p" omitted."
I looked at your page in "view source" and see this:
    <div id="headernav2">

        HOT LINE:  800-392-HELP<br />

        CHAT WITH US:
I think that <p> element is not closed.
Whether it has anything to do with your spry menu is yet to be seen.  I fix my own code in this way.  I do not understand why some things work or do not work.  My suggestion to you is add these tiny little characters in your code </p> and test it.  If it works call me a Coding deity.  If it doesn't work, remove it and post again content in the knowledge that someone, a complete stranger, was prepared to have a look at your page.
For my part, I have a hunch that it does have something to do with your menu.  If not, it needs fixing anyway.

  • Problem with horizontal scroll navigation pattern, please help

    Hello,
I am trying to create navigation pattern for portfolio website which features horizontal scroll.
Here is a draft of what im trying to achieve:
    Home
As you can see it's built based on containers - in every one there will be three photos and as you scroll down the page, the containers go left and you experience horizontal scrolling
The problem I am currently facing is this:
On a 1920x1200 resolution when you are scrolling down (starting from the top of the page), the first container (in the beginning) is in fact going left as I want it to, but at certain point (when it's just a little bit behind page margin) it just disappears. I would like to have the effect of container "traveling" out of view area naturally, so that when u are looking at a second container you could still see the first one and the third one.
In other words I would like these containers to leave the screen in the same way they appear - smooth motion, not the sudden disappear...
What am I doing wrong ?
If I recreate same draft but without using muse widgets for containers (instead I use for example single image) it works OK.
Also I noticed, that if the container is more narrow, the effect doesnt occur - like last conatiner in the exaple, it travels the way I want it to.
    Thank you for any advice.
    Filip

  • Hide Sub-Navigation On Mouse Out?

Can anyone figure this one out? I'm completely stuck on this
    - I need the subnavigation to hide on mouse out. If the user rolls
over the main navigation - the sub pops up and is very annoying and
confusing to the viewer. I can get the subnavigation to disappear
on mouse click but when I set it to hide on mouse out, it wants to
hide every time the user moves between the different buttons.
Probably confusing to understand without seeing the file. I put it
up on www.imicci.com/file/file.fla.zip Can someone please check it
out for me? I'm so frustrated with this. If there's some other way
to post this flash file I can do that too - just let me know. Thank
    you everyone!

so a quick and dirty feel-good fix is to do the following...
    1) make an invisible button that wraps all the way around
    your submenu.
    2) turn it on when someone rolls over your initial button
    (kill the onRollOut as)
    3) put an OnRollOver() action on your new button that does
the same as the previous RollOut button did. Make sure rolling over
it kills the actions as well.
Like I said, thats dirty, but it works. You can also code
    around your problem.

  • Help with Horizontal Sub Menu Position

I am building a horizontal spry menu, the default is set so that the submenu displays vertically.  However, I would like the submenu to display horizontally as well, so that it is flush with the bottom of the main menu.  Does anyone know how to do this?

add this style rule to your page:
    <style type="text/css">

    ul.MenuBarHorizontal ul {
        width: auto;

  • Horizontal Sub Menu

I understand how to create a horizontal spry menu, but it still gives me vertical submenus.  How can I create a horizontal submenu?  I've been told that it is controlled in the "ul.menubarhorizontal ul" , but that doesn't seem to work.  There are also 2 different styles called "ul.menubarhorizontal ul" which do I use if either? Could someone help gie me some clarification please!?

Once again, I want to thank you for your time, I greatly appreciate it.  This is a problem I just can't seem to figure out.  I inserted the code as you suggested, but Im still getting a vertically displayed submenu.  I attached a pic of a screen shot of my practice site and a pic of what I want to achieve.  Here is my current code after the changes:

    what you are after.

  • Inserting Images in Horizontal Dropdown Navigation Tabs

I am running a 5.0.2 portal. I am trying to make the tabs with rounded corners. And, for that I am trying to insert a small image on both sides of the tabs. Does anybody know which files I would have to include in my custom project, which basically controls the HTML of the tabs.

    hi Thomas,
Images on the masthead and other things are heard of and I had done such customizations myself.......never heard of this one.
