Hosting JAD and JAR files from apache - install problems

im not sure whether it's something to do with Apache's MIME settings or something else but whenever i connect to my IP/game.jad it always either just displays the Text in the JAD file and doesnt give the option to download the JAR, when I try and use the OTA provisioning Utility in the J2ME toolkit and connect to my IP it says either "access denied" or "blah.jad cannot be found at this URL, Contact the application provider for more information."
'lil help? :)
Thanks!

Hi,
first, you must add the following two lines to Apache mime types:
text/vnd.sun.j2me.app-descriptor jad
application/java-archive           jar
second, you must specify the absolute address of your jar file in the MIDlet-Jar-URL which in the jad file, such as:
MIDlet-Jar-URL: IP/game.jar

  • Problem accessing Application Ejb Jar files from Apache Axis jars

I have deployed an EAR application, with a structure as shown below,
    MyApp.ear
    |____ MyApp_Ejb.jar
    |____ axis.war
    |_____ WEB-INF
    |_____ lib (This contains all axis specific jars)
The application deploys just fine. But when i goto happyaxis.jsp and try to view all the web services that have been deployed. I get an exception "No provider type matches QName '{http://xml.apache.org/axis/wsdd/providers/java}SDL".
Here SDL is a custom provider that i have written and all the required files for the provider are available in MyApp_Ejb.jar.
I do not get as to why the axis.jar is not able to find classes in MyApp_Ejb.ear, when both these are in the same ear.
Now i know i can add a utility jar to a war files classpath by adding a classpath line in the War file MANIFEST.MF. But since MyApp_Ejb.jar is defined as a Web Module this solution too doesnt help.
Separating the provider related files from MyApp_Ejb.jar is not possible since there is too much dependance of other files within that jar.
So i am looking for a solution where in i can continue to have MyApp_Ejb.jar as my ejb module as well as the axis related jars can find the required classes within MyApp_Ejb.jar. some way of sharing the ejb jar across to axis jars.
    Thanks in advance.

Hi,   I have downloaded battery accelerator using nokia suite ,but when i click on it , it asks me to go to nokiappwiz site reference. Then if i further clicks it is going......and going. • Calling jar file from jsp - serious problem !

Hi there, I'm trying to call a jar from a jsp file. I need an import clause in my jsp, to the class I want to use.
I'm using eclipse, and while i"m writing "<%= " and the begining of my class name , he autocompletes it and automatically puts an import of my class in the top of the html. It is very convenient , but the problem is that he underling the class name (in the impot: <%@page import="myClass"%>), and I get "The import myClass cannot be resolved" error.
I got an advice to put my class in a package, since it was in a default package. I did it. But now I have 2 problems:
    1. I can't run my jar in command window: java - jar myJar.jar. in gives me: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError....
    2. I still get an error - "The import myClass cannot be resolved" in the jsp, although I threw the old jar (that his class I want to use was out of package), and brought a new jar after creating it.
I hope I managed to clarify myself. I'll be thankful of any help !!!

    Hi MSoldier.
There are two ways to do this:
    1) You use the java.lang.Runtime classes to start the java application in your JAR file, just like you would have done it from the command line. The Runtime class has three different exec() methods that can be used to run any program just like you would from the command line. Remember, using this method you will have to write everything just like if you run your Java application from the command line, incl. classpath etc. This way your Java application will be run as a separate process. When the application finishes the process is shutdown and the resources (RAM etc.) taken by it freed, just like when you shutdown any other application.
    2) You can open the JAR file yourself from inside the JSP page, look inside the META-INF file to find the main class, and then calls the main class main method. There is an example of how to do this in the Java Tutorial available from Sun under the JAR files track. Check these links :
    The Java Tutorial at Sun
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/
The JAR File Tutorial at Sun
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/jar/index.html
Opening JAR Files via the Java JAR File API
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/jar/api/index.html
Note however, if you have just created some classes that you want to use from inside your JSP pages, and not a separate application that needs to be run separately, you should just include the JAR file with your custom classes inside the WEB-INF/lib directory. These classes are then automatically available to your JSP pages, just like the rest of the Java API.
I hope this answers your questions,

Before you start, it would be best to check for systems prerequisites (especially the backend Business Suite that you want to run against). Then you need to decide whether you want to run NWBC Desktop (i.e. Windows based) vs HTML (i.e. Browser based). The OSS Note # 900000 (NWBC FAQ) below should help to set you in the right direction.

  • Are JDev autogenerated paths needed to create ear, war and jar files ?

    Hi
We want to create ear, war and jar files from Ant build script generated from JDeveloper 11.1.1.7.
We also like to use ojdeploy with it.
In the process of creating build.xml files from projects, we see these paths.
We also have standalone Weblogic installed with ADF runtime 11.1.1.7
    Questions:
1- Do we need these path ids to generate ear, jar, war files properly and then deploy the ear to our standalone Weblogic so that our webapp can run ok ?
2- Why are they generated, if they are not needed
From research, it appears that we don't need these paths except to keep ant targets of init, compile, exec etc with ojdeploy.
    3- Is that true ?
We are afraid that because no paths are listed in the build.xml, then when we deploy the ear app, it cant use the ADF runtime on the standalone WLS.
    Thanks in advance for answering.

There are two different things here. Using ant to build the class files and then building an ear from the class files and other resources.
The building part needs the libraries if you use javac as compiler. Building an ear file only needs the path to the jar files which are packed into the ear.
In this sense you need the pages you see in the build.xml.
Then Jdev offers another way: ojdeploy. This tool is a Jdev without a gui.
You can use this tool and build the classes for each project of a workspace and to build build war and ear file. This is just like you click the rebuild button for each project and then the deploy the projects and application. If you use this approach you don't need the generated path ids as the whole build process is done inside Jdev as it's done on your developer pc.

  • How do I install a JAD & associated JAR file on a ...

    Hi all,
I have a Nokia 6288 which I would like to install a signed application in the form of a signed JAD and accompanying JAR file.
I need the JAD because it is a signed application, and I need the phone to recognise this because the application accesses user data from the memory card.
    I have tried:
    1. Using PC Suite. It does not recognise JAD files.
    2. Copying the signed JAD & the JAR file onto my memory card. The phone does not recognise JAD files. I can use the JAR file fine but it isn't fully functional.
    3. Installing the JAD file from a WAP service by pointing my phones web browser directly to the JAD file online. It downloads and installs, but again, fails to be fully functional.
So at the moment I am stuck as although I can install the JAR by itself, the application is then not signed, and will not work because it cannot access the memory card.
Basically, how would I install a signed application (JAD & JAR) onto my Series 40 handset?

Since my last post I have been discussing this issue with commercial application developers and have been experimenting with various applications.
Firstly, let's make the JAR/JAD situation absolutely clear. Some, but not all, applications unquestionably require the JAD file as a part of the installation process. If the application is a "signed" application then the security authorisation is contained within the JAD file, not the JAR file. The JAD file is created from the JAR file and contains security verification information that is separate from the JAR file and which enables the application to signed as kosher.
The Nokia PC Suite Application Installer does not need to show you the JAD file. The JAR file is sufficient. If you install the application from a folder on your PC that contains both the matching JAR and JAD files then Application Installer will correctly install the application from both the JAR and JAD files. If the folder ONLY contains the JAR file then it will only install from the JAR file. I have proved this.
So, if you cannot get the application to work then the reason is not the installation process. The reason is far more likely to be that you are trying to install the application on a branded handset rather than on a standard Nokia handset. Some service providers heavily modify the base standard software that Nokia installs on its vanilla handsets and these modifications may well include changes to security authorisation rules that will prevent many applications working on handsets that they sell.
I am in dispute with one such as we speak. I will not name them right now but if I am unable to achieve a satisfactory outcome then be assured I will let EVERYONE know. Thank God for YouTube.

  • Can't run JavaFX app as a jar file from command line

I'm trying to build a JavaFX app from scratch (that is, by including the jar file from the JavaFX SDK rather than by using the special JavaFX project type from NetBeans). Unsatisfied link means that Java is trying to access a native library, but it cannot be found. As to why this error is being thrown, here is my guess:
If you open up one of the sample jars with a zip viewer, you will see that the Manifest file has the following entries:
    >
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    JavaFX-Version: 2.0
    implementation-vendor: Oracle
    implementation-title: BrickBreaker
    implementation-version: 1.0
    JavaFX-Application-Class: brickbreaker.Main
    Created-By: JavaFX Packager
    Main-Class: com/javafx/main/Main
    >
In other words, a JavaFX project works a bit differently than a normal Java project. com/javafx/main/Main is used as the Main class and your "Main" class is called later.
If you are trying to build this from a normal Java project, then com/javafx/main/Main will not be created and it will call your Main class right away. Thus, whatever setup is needed to run JavaFX will not occur.

  • How to make a image file from Pre installed Mac osx ? "PLEASE HELP :("?

hey guys ..Thanks u for the time.
So i have this eMac which has crashed and i have got may hands on another eMac.. and it works
... the only problem is.. I can take my eMac to the working eMac to do Target Mode or any thing...
    So Help me..
My question is .. Is there a way to make a .DMG image file from pre installed mac osx OR
Is there a way to may a recovery disc??

You can use Carbon Copy Cloner to copy everything from the working eMac onto the non-working eMac while the working eMac is running. If your eMac will still do target mode into the working one, you can download the above software, select the booted drive as the source drive, and your eMac's drive as the target, however it is possible this will not work.
When you say your eMac crashed, what exactly happened?  It is possible that the hard drive in your eMac failed or is failing, so in order to get it running again you would need to replace the hard drive.  On the eMac, this repair is somewhat involved, and you have to be very careful because it exposes the CRT, which has several areas which can be extremely dangerous to touch if not properly handled.  CRTs retain a great deal of voltage, even when unplugged, sometimes for weeks, and they can give you a nasty shock if you touch them in the wrong place.
Also keep in mind that cloning from the working computer to the non-working computer will ERASE any data that you have stored on that eMac, so if you don't have it backed up anywhere, you may want to attempt that with target mode before proceeding.
    Good luck!
