Hi - I have an icon for hotmail on my desktop but the mail stopped coming in. Does any know how I can get the mail to come in again?

Try Contacts>Preferences...>Accounts...remove {-}/re-add {+}your iCloud account.
If that is not successful, follow the steps listed in iCloud: Troubleshooting iCloud Contacts.

I have a Mac OS 10.9.4. After the last OS update on 11.July.2014 Flash stopped working. Why and how can I fix it?

All of a sudden my computer stopped allowing me to watch Youtube videos or anything involving Adobe Flash software. I tried uninstalling Flash and reinstalling it, I've tried changing my cookies... everything that I find on different forums and I still can't get videos to play. On the Flash website it says that the latest flash model, version 14.0.0.145, works with Macs OS 10.6-10.9. Does that mean that flash is incapable of working with a Mac 10.9.4? I can't believe that the mac community stopped watching Youtube after the last update and nothing's been done. Has anyone else experienced this problem and more importantly found a way to fix it?

If you can't install or update Flash, follow these instructions.
If you have installed the latest version of Flash, please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 8. Back up all data before making any changes.
Step 1
You might have to log out or restart the computer before a Flash update takes effect.
Step 2
From the Safari menu bar, select
          Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data...
and confirm. Close the window. Then select
           ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.

If you're only having trouble with YouTube videos, log in to YouTube and load this page. You may see a link with the text "Leave the HTML5 Trial." If so, click that link.

a. If you get a warning of a "blocked" or "outdated" plug-in, then select the Security tab in the Safari preferences window. In the list of plugins on the left, there should be one—and only one—entry for "Adobe Flash Player," showing the same version number that you installed. Select that entry. Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from the domain "get.adobe.com". Don't click a link from any other website, including this one, because you can't trust links. They may be an attempt to trick you into installing malware masquerading as Flash. Type the address into the browser window. Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
Step 8
If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
          Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked
          Allow (or Enable) plug-ins
Then click the button marked
          Manage Website Settings...
if present and make sure that the website is not blocked for Flash.

Also, When I open the Keyboard Viewer, the letters will highlight only if I hold the modifier key(s) "Control" or "Control and Option". I really need help with this. I don't have any other computer to try it on, so I will have to test it on a friends computer sometime. But perhaps solutions that I can try right now? Thanks.

On the profile folder in windows you can right click on the folder and uncheck the "run as an administrator"

The disk you are using probably has a defect, not uncommon on consumer grade disks. Try another disk or better yet another disk from a different manufacturer or at least a different batch.

IPod abrubtly cuts off and only comes back on when you unlock the hold button. why and how can i fix this?

I listen to my iPod Classic at work and it kept cutting off today out of nowhere and this hasn't happened before. I have it in my pocket so I have the HOLD button in the lock position so the wheel won't get pressed while in my pocket. I figured it died on me but I had just charged it last night so I took it out and unlocked the HOLD button. Well, the music immediately came back on. It happened a few more times and i figured maybe it was the song or something so I changed albums and it kept happening. Every time it would cut off, I'd unlock the HOLD button and it'd come back on every time, almost like it was paused or something. Has anyone experienced this? if so, how do I fix it? I really don't want to buy a new iPod since I have little money because of school, bills, and photography/film equipment. Help? thanks.

I'm having a hard time finding an answer to this too. This is what is going on. Sometimes the iPod (iPod Classic 160GB) does not "like" the songs I've downloaded from cds. Sometimes it does. I think it always plays whatever songs I've purchased on iTunes though. The other day I synced it to add two new cds and somehow the iPod was wiped clean--no songs, no pictures, nothing. I did a reset and the songs came back but now these problems:
1. The song will play for a few seconds then it either skips to the next song.
2. The song won't play, just skips to the next song.
3. Everything just stops, the iPod is still 'on' but won't play anything.
4. Right now it's playing an Aimee Mann album that I downloaded but it wouldn't play the Joni Mitchell album just before. Is the iPod making a comment on my taste in music?
Flipping the lock back and forth helps sometimes, but not always.

Try to reboot your iPad: Press and hold the power AND home buttons at the SAME time for at least 10 seconds (ignore the red slider to shut down) your screen go blank momentarily - keep holding both buttons - until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPad should [hopefully] restart.

I updated to the most recent (just in case) and it still isn't loading up. Out of frustration I opened MSIE to search for this problem and I noticed that Firefox was working again. Not sure what you mean then. Is QuickTime still open and playing the video? If so, do you mean you can't even get back to QT to shut it down?
Check the Dock for the QT logo. Click it to bring that app to the foreground. The menu bar then should say QuickTIme Player next to the Apple logo. Close the app and the video will shut down with it.

When I open another window the cursor defaults to the bottom of the page instead of the top why and how can I fix it? It is a pain to have to keep scrolling to the top all the time. This does not happen with Chrome or IE.

I have noticed that the emails sent out of S1 always default to the end
of the message so we need to scroll up to edit what we've written. Most
of the time I need to edit the text near the top of an email so although
it is a very minor thing, it is a bit irritating.

If you can't connect to home wi fi, or any wi fi, go into the RESET area of your SETTINGS and choose RESET NETWORK CONNECTIONS. Turn the phone off and back on and you should be okay. It may take more than one try. Good luck.

My iPad quits when I'm browsing in the apple store, why and how can I fix it!

Whenever I'm browsing the iTunes store, iTunes quits. Also if I'm watching Amazon instant video, the show will stop every 5-8 minutes and I have to restart it! Frustrating to say the least! I know it's an older iPad but everything else seems to wok ok. Suggestions are welcomed. BTW, I already resett the whole iPad and redownloaded all it's content!

Hi. I'm using WiFi. Have no other programs running and no other computers/phone/gadgets connected to it. The iPad doesn't crash, just the app (either iTunes or amazon instant video stop running). That does not happen when I use the MacBook. I have deleted both and reinstalled both. I have also reset the iPad to original factory settings and I have held down both, the home and off button together until the apple appears!! Nothing works!! BTW, the APP store app also closes all the time and thinking about so does iBooks and the Kindle app!!
