How add auto binding backing bean to a jspx page

A few times during development, I didn't check "automatically expose UI components to in a manage bean" when the jspx page was first created.
Can someone tell if there is a way to add auto binding backing bean to the page later?
Thanks

Hi Deborah,
when your JSPX page is active, select menu Design -> Page Properties...
Click Tab Component Binding
Select Auto Bind and select (or create with New) your Managed Bean

  • Dynamically binding backing bean

    Dynamic binding of backing bean
    Here is a problem that I have been trying to solve. Maybe someone can have a go at it:
    Here is a Search form(Simplified version):
    af:selectOneChoice - to choice a 'class family' e.g., companies, NGO, charity, institution etc
    af:inputText - to enter a name
    af:commandButton – to search
    Here is a User task:
    1.     Choose a 'class family' from the selectOneChoice
    2.     Enter a name in inputText
    3.     Click commandButton to start the search
    Additional information
    1. The number of 'class family' is about 30 and requires different method of search.
    2. I want to use a uniform search user interface and so there is only one page for all.
    3. Each 'class family' has it own managed bean in face-config.xml.
    Scenario:
    Lets say the searchUI.jsp has an initial backing bean called SearchBean.java. The af:selectOneChoice in searchUI.jsp has a valueChangeListener and when the user chooses a 'class family' at step (1), the valueChangeListener in SearchBean.java is triggered.
    Problem:
    The problem is how do I dynamically switch the backing beans, say from SearchBean.java to SearchCompanyBean.java so that when the user next click the search commandButton, it is the searchAction method in the SearchCompanyBean.java and NOT the initial SearchBean.java that handles the action.
    Cheers in advance.

    Hi,
    Assuming you are using ADF BC, have a look at using view criteria. You can define, dynamically apply and remove view criteria on the view object.
    Have a look at the help on oracle.jbo.ViewCriteria and applyViewCriteria from the ViewObject implementation class. Sounds like they might meet your requirements.
    Create a client method on your VO and drag it onto your page as an ADF parameter form and go from there.

  • ADF BC how to access session backing bean value in servlet

    Hi everyone,
    How do I access session backing bean value in a servlet?

    Frank, thanks for your reply.
    I'm not sure how I can incorporate this example into my situation. Let me explain more detail about my problem.
    "servlet" in my post here actually means a custom servlet I wrote for rendering an image that is stored in db as ordimage. In this servlet, I get hold of my appmodule by using Configuation.createRootApplicationModule(). By doing so (If I'm not wrong) a new database session/connection is created. What I'm going to achieve is set application context for this new session/connection in db with the data stored in a session backing bean in the view layer.
    I can pass the required data to the servlet thru url parameter, but I don't want to do it this way for the reason that the data may contains sensitive information.
    I hope I have explained myself well.

  • How to execute a backing-bean method before loading JSP Page?

    Hi everybody.
    Scene:
    An AdfForm, with
    -SelectChoice, referenced to a <list> of pageDef, which is referenced to an ADF BC.
    Goal:
    -Executing the query of the ADF BC before load the SelectChoice, to load the correct values.
    A good question to know:
    Exists any way to execute a method of backing before loading a JSP Page?
    Any similar to onload method of javascript. It could be fantastic.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jaime

    hi Jaime
    If I understand correctly, you are using the ADF Model for data binding.
    Because your goal is "Executing the query of the ADF BC ...", maybe you can also consider to refresh an executable in your Page Definition.
    See also "10.5.5 How to Use Refresh Correctly for InvokeAction and Iterator Bindings"
    at http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/B25947_01/bcdcpal005.htm#BJECHBHF
    It says "... You can use the Refresh property on iterator bindings and invokeAction executables in your page definition to control when each are evaluated during the ADF page lifecycle, either during the prepareModel phase, the prepareRender phase, or both. ...".
    Although you have posted your question in a structured way, which is a good thing, I think it would help to understand your question if you can explain how you determine "the correct values" for your list, what is varying?

  • How to call the backing bean method through javascript

    Hi
    I have a command button associated with actionListener . Action Listener method associated with backing bean methods.
    I want to fire the event on command button and backing bean method should be invoked from javascript dynamically.
    can anybody help me asap

    JSF<h:form id="formId">
        <h:commandButton id="buttonId" value="submit" actionListener="#{myBean.action}" />
    </h:form>JSdocument.getElementById('formId:buttonId').click();

  • How to call the backing bean method through javascript by closing window?

    Hi all,
    What I want to do is:
    I open a new page by clicking <t:commanLink.../> from the first page. Then I close the new page. By closing the new page I will call a function in the backing bean such as myBean.doSomething() to do something. Such like:
    <body onUnload=jsFunction()..../>
    ...

    So far I understand, I should write following code
    in my second page:
    <html>
    <head>
    <script type="txet/javascript">
    function jsFunction()
    {>
    ocument.forms[0].action="#{myBean.doSomething}";
    document.forms[0].submit();
    </scrip>
    </head>
    <body onunload="jsFunction()">
    <ui:composition>
    <h:form id="myForm">
    <t:commandLink id="myLink" immediate="true"
    action="#{myBean.doSomething}"
    value=""></t:commandLink>
    </h:form>
    </ui:composition>
    Is that right? I am not sure if I've the javascript
    in the right position.I am sorry! That solution will not work. My Bad.
    You can try this.
    1) Have a invisible command button on your first page with the action attribute set to "#{myBean.doSomething}" as below
    <t:commandButton style="width:0px;height:0px" id="myButton" immediate="true"
    action="#{myBean.doSomething}"
      value=""></t:commandButton>2) Your JS onunload method on the second page should look like
    <script type="txet/javascript">
       function jsFunction()
    var buttonObject= window.parent.document.getElementById("formname:myButton");
    buttonObject.click(); // This would help in submitting the first page
    // to submit to the needed action method
    </script>Karthik

  • How to set a back button to the caller page

    Hello,
    An application have a page that can be called by several other pages, for instance, an "addContact.faces" can be called by several other forms, when the user adds the contact or press a back button, the application should go back to the caller page.
    How can I implent this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Juan

    As an alternative, you could Ajax the stuff and put it in a popup div, which is a common technique nowadays. Then the user doesn't even navigate away from the page he/she was on, plus it is relatively easy to implement in a generic way so multiple pages can use it.
    Search for "css popup div" on google if you want to see this in action.

  • How do I change back to having "bookmark this page" on the top of the list and subordinate "all bookmarks" lower since I use former 100 times more than the later on a daily basis?

    I create about 25 -50 new bookmarks daily for my business. So, it would seem user friendly to put that command at the top of the scroll down list. Maybe I am unique and others want to "show all bookmarks" repeatedly. I can't understand why one would need to do that more often than add multiple bookmarks on a daily basis. i look forward to your response,. Respectfully MC

    cor-el, as you said, that solution puts the "show all bookmarks" all the way at the bottom. How do you either make "bookmark this page" first without changing the order of the other options or force "show all bookmarks" to be second instead of last, the way the menu was before?
