How call Flash function from C++?

Communication between C++ and ActiveX Flash object is
adjusted. The ActiveX calls C++ functions. But how a call Flash
functions from C++?
I try so: v_flash is control variable of the ActiveX the
container.
A code: v_flash. CallFunction ("test");
No effect
How it to make?

Hi David, Thanks for the response. I found this solution by
following method:
Flash code either in class or frame:
ExternalInterface.addCallback("sendTextToFlash",
getTextFromJavaScript);
public function getTextFromJavaScript(user):void {
trace(user);
//Now whenever JavaScript function will be called from any
HTML or back end language then it definetly call directly that
flash function by following method
//HTML Code
function sendData(user){
//alert("values coming "+user);
SendDataToFlashMovie(user);
function getFlashMovieObject(movieName){
if (window.document[movieName]){
return window.document[movieName];
if (navigator.appName.indexOf("Microsoft Internet")==-1){
if (document.embeds && document.embeds[movieName])
return document.embeds[movieName];
else {// if (navigator.appName.indexOf("Microsoft
Internet")!=-1) {
return document.getElementById(movieName);
function SendDataToFlashMovie(user) {
var flashMovie=getFlashMovieObject("myFLA");
flashMovie.sendTextToFlash(user);
Now HTML or back end language has just need to call
sendData(
value)
I think its the right way, but if there is any other short
method like just call the function name from HTML and that directly
respond to Flash as per function name, then please let me
know.

  • Calling Flash function from IE10

    Hey guys,
    So I am attempting to have some javascript call a flash function.  I have it fully working with older versions of IE, such as IE9. However IE10 will not do it.
    I followed the example provided by Adobe here: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/flash/external/External Interface.html#addCallback()
    Using this example code, (in IE10) I am successfully able to send data from flash to my Javascript, but coming from the other direction, it does not work.
    The error I get is ("Object doesn't support property or Method 'methodNameHere' ")
    Does anyone have any ideas of what I might need to do?  Or does IE10 not support that communication any longer?  Any thoughts are appreciated, thanks!

    The code is that which is in the link but I will post it here below.  Here is what I am doing in my flash file:
    sendBtn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, clickHandler);
                if (ExternalInterface.available) {
                    try {
                        output.appendText("Adding callback...\n");
                        ExternalInterface.addCallback("sendToActionScript", receivedFromJavaScript);
                        if (checkJavaScriptReady()) {
                            output.appendText("JavaScript is ready.\n");
                        } else {
                            output.appendText("JavaScript is not ready, creating timer.\n");
                            var readyTimer:Timer = new Timer(100, 0);
                            readyTimer.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER, timerHandler);
                            readyTimer.start();
                    } catch (error:SecurityError) {
                        output.appendText("A SecurityError occurred: " + error.message + "\n");
                    } catch (error:Error) {
                        output.appendText("An Error occurred: " + error.message + "\n");
                } else {
                    output.appendText("External interface is not available for this container.");
            function receivedFromJavaScript(value:String):void {
                output.appendText("JavaScript says: " + value + "\n");
            function checkJavaScriptReady():Boolean {
                var isReady:Boolean = ExternalInterface.call("isReady");
                return isReady;
            function timerHandler(event:TimerEvent):void {
                output.appendText("Checking JavaScript status...\n");
                var isReady:Boolean = checkJavaScriptReady();
                if (isReady) {
                    output.appendText("JavaScript is ready.\n");
                    Timer(event.target).stop();
            function clickHandler(event:MouseEvent):void {
                if (ExternalInterface.available) {
                    ExternalInterface.call("sendToJavaScript", input.text);
    And here is exactly what is in the HTML:

  • How to call oracle function from ejb3

    i'm trying to call an oracle query-function from ejb3.
    The oracle function:
    create or replace FUNCTION getSecThreadCount(secId in NUMBER,avai in NUMBER)
    RETURN SYS_REFCURSOR is cur SYS_REFCURSOR;
    m_sql VARCHAR2(250);
    BEGIN

    and thrAvai='|| avai;
    open cur for m_sql;
    return cur;
    END;
    I'v tried several ways to call it,but all failed:
    1. the calling code:
    public Object getSectionThreadCount(int secId,int avai){
              Query query=manager.createNativeQuery("{call getSecThreadCount(?,?) }");
              query.setParameter(1, secId);
              query.setParameter(2, avai);

  • How do I call a function from another file?

    In MainView.m I have one function -(void)goTell;
    I want to be able to call the function from SecondView.m. How do I do this?
    I have declared the function in the MainView.h and added #include MainView.h to SecondView.m, but it still doesn't work.
    This code crashes my program (for some reason this board takes away my brackets... assume the code is written correctly):
    [[MainView alloc] init];
    MainView *myMainView;
    [myMainView goTell];
    By the way... goTell has nothing in it. It's just a blank function for testing purposes.
    Ethan

    BTW - Wrap your code like this in posts tags so it stay readable.
    put code here
    Your code needs to be:
    MainView *myMainView = [[MainView alloc] init];
    [MyMainView goTell];

    thank you in advance.

    There are two ways to call a function from within an ItemRenderer. One way is to dispatch an event from your ItemRenderer and listen for the event in your main application. This approach has the advantage of creating loosely coupled code which is eaiser to maintain and extend if needed, but it takes a bit more work to set things up than using the second aproach lised below. You could also create a custom event to have greater control over what data is sent with the event.
    private function callOuter():void {
         this.dispatchEvent(new MouseEvent());
    The other approach is to call the main application by using parentDocument.
    private function callOuter():void {
         parentDocument.handleItemRenderer();

    ORA-06576: not a valid function or procedure name
    Please is very urgent!!!
    Thanks.
    Angie.

    You need to use the syntax "{call <procedure_name>}".
    The {call } syntax tells the OLE DB provider that it needs to translate the call into whatever the database's procedure calling syntax is. This means that even though different databases have different syntax for calling stored procedures, your OLE DB code can be run against any of them without changing.

  • How do I call Vee functions from TestStand ?

    I wish to call Vee functions from TestStand steps.
    I am using Vee 6.01 and TestStand 2.0.

    Hi Gerry,
    Sorry about that. Below is a sequence file created in 2.0.1f1. Please copy the contents of the zip file (previous attachment) into the folder \Examples\VEE\Using ActiveX (VEE 6.0). Please create this directory if it does not exist. The next thing you will need to do, is register the TestStand VEE server located in \Examples\VEE\Using ActiveX (VEE 6.0)\VEE_StepType.dll. To do this:

  • Can I call a function from a dll in LabVIEW that returns:double*string and int.?

    I have a function from a dll that return a double* string and an integer. How can I call this function from LabVIEW? There is a possibility to work in LabVIEW with a double* string?

    Two difficulties I can see with this.
    First the application seems to allocate the array of references
    internally and return a pointer to that array. In that case there must
    be another function which then deallocates that array again.
    Then you would need to setup the function call to have a pointer to an
    int32 number for the deviceList parameter and another pointer to int32
    one for the plItems parameter.
    Then create another function in your DLL similar to this:
    HRESULT WRAPIEnumExtractDevice(WRAPI_NDIS_DEVICE *lpDeviceList, long i,
    CHAR lpszDeviceName, LONG lenDeviceName,
    CHAR lpszDeviceDesc, LONG lenDeviceDesc)
    if (!lpDeviceList)
    return ERROR_INV_PARAMETER;
    if (lpDeviceList[i].pDeviceName)
    WideCharToMultiByte(CP_ACP, 0,
    pDeviceList[i].pDeviceName, -1,
    lpszDeviceName, lenDeviceName,
    NULL, NULL);
    if (lpDeviceList[i].pDeviceName)
    WideCharToMultiByte(CP_ACP, 0,
    pDeviceList[i].pDeviceDescription, -1,
    lpszDeviceDesc, lenDeviceDesc,
    NULL, NULL);
    return NO_ERROR;
    Pass the int32 you got from the first parameter of the previous call as
    a simple int32 passed by value to this function (and make sure you don't
    call this function with a higher index than (plItems - 1) returned from
    the first function.

  • Calling user function from Interface mapping

    I am getting error "Bad query:ORA-00904: invalid identifier" while calling function in the mapping of an interface.
    Can some one provide the syntax of calling user function from interface mapping.
    Thanks,

    Can some one provide the syntax of calling user function from interface mapping.Oracle's Call Iinterface, the OCI, does not work differently when coding using a Dvorak keyboard, or writing code using a pretty pink font in the editor.. or coding the call from an interface mapping (whatever the hell that that is).
    You have 2 types of calls. SQL and PL/SQL.
    To call a function via SQL, it can be done using a the standard cursor interface. E.g.
    select MyFunkyFunction from dualIt will return the function value via a single row with a single column. The standard cursor fetch and close cursor calls are used.
    To call it via PL/SQL, an anonymous PL/SQL block is needed, and the caller needs to use a bind variable to receive the value from the function. The anon block will look as follows:
    begin
      :bindVar := MyFunkyFunction;
    end;Refer to your client's abstract layer for interfacing with the Oracle Call Interface, on how to deal with bind variables.

  • Calling a function from SQL prompt that returns a record

    Hi,
    I've been trying to execute a function that is present on a different database. for eg. I am loged on to a database say 'A' and trying to execute a function present in database 'B'. this function is present in a package 'X' which has 2 functions and two procedures. From the packages i am able to execute the two procedures and one of the function.
    So i guess it is not a problem with the access permissions. The function that i am trying to call say function I has got 3 OUT
    parameters and 1 IN parameter. the Function returns a record. When i try to execute this function i get an error. Can you please let me know as to how exactly i need to call this function from the SQL prompt...
    thanx in advance
    null

    Hi Anand,
    As your function has 3 OUT parameters and it returns a record you can not just call it from SQL Plus. You need to write small PL/SQL program and use variables to hold the OUT values and the returned record.

  • Calling a function from within a movieclip

    How do I do this, and Is it wrong to do it this way?
    I have a movieclip on the timeline and within that movieclip
    it has buttons which I've placed listeners. I'm doing it this way
    rather than putting the code in the document class because the
    buttons don't appear right away in the movieclip (not until around
    frame 10). The function is defined in the document class because it
    is used with other movieclips.
    Anyone have an idea on how to properly do this?

    Well, I'm at least not getting an error - however, nothing is
    happening when I click the button to call the function (which is
    indeed public). Inside the function is a simple trace. I've even
    added a param to the function just for fun, and there's no error
    when calling the function from the button.

  • Calling a function from a dll written by using visual studio c++

    Hi, how can i call a function from a dll which is written by visual studio c++ in test stand?  Although the functions in dll are exported and i've chosen c/c++ adapter, i saw no function in test stand. Is there a different step while i'm calling a function from a dll written by c++ than calling a function from a dll written by cvi?

    Hey Sadik,
    Selecting the C/C++ DLL Adapter Module should be sufficient for this. When you drag an action step for this onto the Main Step and navigate to the location of the DLL, the function list should populate and you should be able to select the function you want to use. If this is not the case, would you be able to post this DLL so that we can test this on our end?
