How can I add some space between each tab in JTabbedPane?

I added some tabs in a JTabbedPane and want to add some spaces between each of them. How can I do this?

There are different questions, aren't they? if you ask how to move a component to the right, and get an answer,
then ask how to move it lower, it may seem to be a different question,
but the concept is the same, and the answer would almost certainly
be the same (with a tweak). Basically you should be smart enough to work
out how to move it lower for yourself.
if you don't understand the how concept of my response in the linked post
relates to this post, then you're in the wrong game.
to make it easier for you to understand
set your own UI, overriding calculateTabHeight(..), setting whatever you want
set your own UI, overriding paintTab(..), setting whatever you want for rects[..].x
having pointed you to the area where you do this stuff, you should have been
smart enough to work it out for yourself.
at some point you will have to take your feet off the desk.

  • How can I change the space between a checkbox and text all at one time? I have a lot of checkboxes in my form.

How can I change the space between a checkbox and text all at one time? I have a lot of checkboxes in my form.

Okay, I haven't found a way to add an extra space using Find/replace, but you might be able to add some text wrap to the check boxes that will push the text away from them.
Open Find/Replace and click the Object tab.
Click the Specify attributes to find button to the right of the Find Object Format: field.
Under Basic Attributes, choose Stroke and then the Black swatch (assuming the black swatch is applied to the strokes of your check boxes). If there are no other stand-alone objects in your form with a Black stroke, this should be all you need. (If there are Black strokes on your table cells, they will be ignored.)
    Click OK
Click the Specify attributes to change button to the right of the Change Object Format: field.
Under Basic Attributes, choose Text Wrap & Other > Text Wrap > Type: > Wrap around bounding box (2nd button from left)
Under Offset, set a Right offset at the distance you'd like to add (I don't know what units you use, but the 3-5 points might work for your purposes...might take some trial-and-error to get it where you want)
    Click OK
    Click Change All

you can use horizontalGap property on HBox to change the

  • How do I create equal space between multiple tabs in Pages?

I am trying to create four center tabs with equal space between each but can not fiqure out how to achieve this.  I owuld like to avoid using tables becuase I am trying to make sure the document is fully cross-paltform (Word, Pages, Open Office, etc.). Any ideas?

    K or C,
The Text Inspector, "Tabs" tab has a box where you create tab stops. Click the plus sign to add a stop. When you are done, make a Paragraph Style to preserve the settings. As for regular spacing, you may have to use some arithmetic to achieve that.
These settings should be respected by any normal word processor.

  • How Can I Tighten the Space Between Table Rows?

I am trying to reproduce the resume I created in a different word processing application several years ago. I have created a table that lists all the work for a given employer with each row representing a different employer. I do want a little more space between text rows when I jump from one employer to the next (one row in the table to the next), but not as much as it is creating. Is there a way to tighten this?
I like the amount of space between lines within a row just as it is.

    OS 10.9.5
    Pages v. 5.2 (1860)

That looks to be the idea, but adjusting the Text Inset is giving me inconsistent results from row to row. The first attached image shows the table (I've included grid lines here to help illustrate) with the default Text Inset of 4 for all cells.
Note the consistent spacing before and after each row. Here is the same document with a Text Inset of 0 on all cells:
Note the large gap between the first and second rows (OWN and Investigative etc.) and the extremely tight gap between the second row and third (Investigative etc. and CNBC). Then a big gap, a tight gap, two big gaps, a tight gap and a big in subsequent rows.
I keep looking to see if I have some sort of other inconsistent formatting going on, but I can't find one. All cells have the Text set (in the style tab) to "Align text to the top of a table cell."

  • How do I insert a space between each letter? i.e. ABC becomes A B C

I have a long strand of characters that I would like to insert spaces between and doing it manually is not practical. Can anyone suggest a shortcut or a way to save me a day of sitting and hitting right arrow space bar??

I need to turn everything into a graph where each Letter, Number and Character is in its own column.
In this context, set up Tabulators where each and every one is defined as centered. This way, the variable set widths of the sorts (letters, glyphs) will align vertically.
Note that if you are working with Apple Advanced Typography or Microsoft OpenType font files, your font file may have a special subset of monospaced figure (number) sorts termed Tabular.
The monospaced figure (number) sorts may either stand on the baseline to align with UPPER CASE or have strokes ascending above and descending below the baseline to align with lower case.
Your font file may also have other special subsets of figure (number) sorts that are proportionately spaced. You should play with these subsets to see which figures will work well for you.
In typography (as in photography and lithography) what looks right is rights. Intelligent fonts for composition and intelligent profiles for separation are there to help you with the visuals.

  • How can i remove white space between pics in picture package

i am using ps elements 3 and want to use picture package to set up and print multiple passport photos on a single page.  passport photos must be 2"x2".  When I import or select a photo taken with my photobooth app on my mac and select custom size, i get 20 images on a page.  however, there is a white space of 1/2 inch around each image and the images are 1.5 " square rather than 2" square.  How do i get rid of the white margins around the images so that they will come out to be 2x2?

The easiest answer would be to just get a Friskars cutter or something similar. I have one like this that I use to cut my photos apart. I found mine at a Walmart in either the scrapbook aisle or the hobby aisle.
However, if you are determined to make a custom picture package you can try making a custom layout with a text editor. I know you can control the white space amount but not sure if you can totally eliminate it.
A simple text editor will work...notepad works for this on Windows...not sure what is comparable on the mac.
In PSE3, the layouts are found following this path Adobe<Photoshop Elements 3.0<Shared Assets<Layouts...note there is also a folder titled Layouts readmes which shows the formula to edit the layouts.
Here is a link that details how to create a picture package layout using a text editor:
    http://www.graficalicus.com/index.php?name=News&file=article&sid=8&theme=Printer
Caution: Make sure you save your custom layout with a new name so you don't overwrite the ones that ship with elements.

  • How can I measure the time between each two successive rising edges ,using Digital Input ?

    Hello
I'm trying two measure the time in seconds between each two successive rising edges on a digital input .
Till now I have managed to detect the rising edge ,increment a counter with each rising edge ,and snap the time at which the rising edge happenned
all I need now is to subtract the current rising edge time from the previous rising edge time in order to calculate (T) which can be 1/frequency and display it in realtime to the user.
but I don't know how to do this
Can somebody please help me !!!

    Counter without time.vi ‏11 KB

    Woah!
Sorry Apok, but your code is becoming way too complicated/messy. I don't think that all of those shift registers or boolean conversion/operators are needed at all.
If you want to measure the timing between two button presses then this is a different (much less complicated) way. It simply records the timing of the button press into a shift register then compares the two.
    Spoiler (Highlight to read)
Of course this is a very quick and basic solution just to show you that it can be much simpler than you are making it (remember to use the mechanical actions of the buttons to get the behaviour you want).
A better way would be to use an event structure looking at value changes of the buttons to determine the timings between clicks.

  • How do I add vertical space between items in a WebHelp TOC in RoboHelp 10?

I recently upgraded from RoboHelp 8 to RoboHelp 10. When generating my WebHelp output in RoboHelp 8, I added space between the items in the table of contents by editing the following line in the whthost.js file.
    var gsMargin="6pt";
After upgrading, I edited the same line in the whthost.js file for RoboHelp 10. Unfortunately when I generate my WebHelp output in RoboHelp 10, no space is added between the items in the table of contents.
Does anyone have any idea why editing this setting in the whthost.js file no longer produces the desired results? Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks!
    George

One way is to do something like this:
    1) create your styles like this:
    span {
        font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;
        letter-spacing: 3px;
    2) create your HTML like this:
    <p> <span>Xc = 10^6/2* pi *50 * C Xc = 10^4/pi C </span></p>
Now is this what you are looking for?  If not please post back so that something else can be suggested like Math HTML such as this one:
    <MATH>&int;_a_^b^{f(x)<over>1+x} dx</MATH>
FF and latest IE9/10 supports MAtH HTML as far as I know.
This is the picture of display in IE10:
    Good luck.

  • How can I add a shadow to a tabbed panel?

Trying to put a shadow on the active state of a tabbed panel so the tab and the content areas share one continuous shadow. Want the active panel to look like it's sitting above the other, inactive panels - the way a stack of file folders would look: shadows on all the tabs, but the folder on the top of the stack would have a shadow around the tab and the rest of the folder.
I can get the shadows to work on the tabs - where the active tab has a larger shadow than the normal (inactive) tabs and they look like they're sitting behind it - but when I try to add a shadow to the content panel it makes the panel appear to sit above the tab that goes with it. I tried arranging the tab on top ("Bring to front") but it still sits behind the content panel. Also tried pulling all the tabs to the front, but the content panel still sits in front and any shadow on the active panel is still over the active tab.
I know I can get an effect that's kinda-sorta what I'm going for with flat color (lighter for active, etc.) but would love to add some truer-looking depth to the active tabbed panel.
    Any suggestions?

you can control the dropshadow's angle property dynamically.  and, yes the dropshadowfilter has an alpha and strength properties you can use.
use the help files to see all the properties you can use.
