How can I auto-number particular rows in a table?

I have a table within a dynamic form. In column 2 there is a drop-down where the user can pick a certain reagent. I would like to set it up so that column 1 auto-populates with a series of numbers when certain reagents are chosen. It needs to be an action/formula as the rows are added as needed to the form.
For example:
Reagent
1
Bottle
2
Bottle
Can
Paper
3
Bottle
Can anyone help me out with a script or other way to accomplish this?
Also, I'm relatively new to LiveCycle and although I have some limited scripting experience, I haven't applied it here yet - so I may need a little extra instruction on how to apply any script fixes...

My first reaction is why do you have a form with a 1000 rows, surely this is a design issue and doesn't benefit anybody when entering data, anyway why not have security on the dimensions then users will only see what they have access to when they retrieve the form in smart view or through the planning web front end.

Hi Nitin,
It seems that you have two or three different structures to pass data using your webservice. In your main question, two tables, you can join both in one table and from there call the webservice. In order to pass the entire table you need:
1. Draw a line between your joinned table and your service,
2. Map the fields,
3. Create a 'SUBMIT' in your table tool bar. Right click on your table and choose 'Create Toobar', '+', name and choose 'Submit' as your event.
4. Go to Configure Element (Table View) 'Multiple' at Selection Mode.

I have some Base R/3- Tables . I need to exact the data from these base tables.
But i need to select some type of datarecords(eg: select Material Documents from MSEG and MKPF tables based on movement types 261,262).

first i need to extract the data from one table fully.
Then i need to extarct the data from second table based on profict centers, company codes of first table.
Then i need to extract the data from third table based on profict centers of first table and movement type = 2p,2n,2s condition.
So how can i extarct like this data from multiple tables.

Assume that i am working on a single row of a Table .
Now please tell me how can i explicitly lock this row , so that other simultanoues users insert or update operations are not affected to this particular row .
I am not using any ORM related technology

In optimistic locking everyone is allowed to read and to update without taking out a lock. Usually the optimistic lock is realised by including either a 'version' or 'last_modified' column which with every update is either increased (version) or set to the current_timestamp (last_modified). How to set max. number of rows in a table?

I'm working on a SCADA interface. In this application there are different tables with vertical scroll bar.
I prefer to make visible only the initialized rows (I've initialized 40 blank rows of a table with a string array). Since the window not contain all 40 rows but only 20 rows, I set the rows number of "table properties window" to 20; so I added a vertical scroll bar.
Now, when a user scroll the scroll-bar, he can view not only the 40 rows initializated, but an undefined number of rows.
There's a way to visualize only a limited number of rows?

In my example i need the result 3, because their is existing 3 times the Kunnr 12345 in the internal Table.

1.Create two internal tables of same type and sort according to Kunnr then Delete the
adjusent duplicates by comparing KUNNR
2.Sort the table by KUNNR and use ON change of Concept in that Just increment the counter.

How can I color just one row in a table?

I'm implementing cut/copy/paste and I want that when I perform cut the row color will be pale/ghost than the regular selectionRow background. And I want this pale color to stay for this row regardless if I select now other rows. I need it for JTable, JTree & JList. 1.in the body of the class

How to check the number of rows in a table with input data?`

I am having a table ( with declaration of 5 rows during the init ) there's a next button which will add another 5 rows by pressing. Let say the user ony key in 7 rows of data.. how should i track it? coz these data act as input to my bapi function. One of the input field of my bapi is to state how many rows of data that a user had key in. Thank you.

I think ur problem is empty records, u dont want to process empty table rows.
m I right?
if yes then just before processing the data / records, check for empty records and remove unwanted rows from the node.
for (int i = 0; i < TableNode.size(); i++)
if all cells of row(i) are empty
remove row(i) from Table Node.
OR if you dont want to remove empty rows from display (screen), then at the time of processing, transfer useful rows to a separate node and process that node.

But if i use the below query it returns : 0

What could be problem.
The table exists + name of the table is correct + it resides in my schema itself.
Any guess !!!

How to change the number displaying rows in a table

i have a table for resources in Debrief Work order (Standard Screen), we need to change the default displaying rows. inistially it displayed 3 empty rows.
i tried to change the Records Displayed for the table but it did not affect.
also it is possible to change the "Add 3 rows" button in the table to add for example 5 rows instead?

Through personalization we can do.On standared page top right u will find personalization link.click on the clink next expand all there find apporiate table .Here u will fine reorder button set as u want display and save. then u can see the change.For add row functionality u need to extend the co.

How can I know the target row in drop table?

I'm implementing 'drag-and-drop' a record from a table to another table(both are set read-only table).
After dropping, the record will be removed from source table and be inserted into target table.
But the problem is that it's not simply added.
When a record is dropped, it must be inserted right after target row which the mouse is over.
(Target table records have a kind of order number and re-ordering will be needed at each drag-and-drop)
I tried with EL from VO like '#{bindings.Testtbl2View1.currentRow}', but it returned a selected row before, not the target row(which mouse is over).
Please advise me.

might not an option to reduce execution time.Yes, but I/O variances have a tendency to really skew the observed elapsed execution time - making execution time alone a poor choice to determine what SQL will perform better than another.
Both MAX(ROWNUM) and COUNT(*) results in the same amount of I/O - as both uses the exact same execution plan, I/O wise. In this example, a FTS.

This shows that what makes the MAX() more expensive is just that - determining the MAX(). For each row, Oracle has to call its internal MAX() function with two values - the current max result and the new value. This function then returns the new max value.
