How can I create a border around an image in cs6?

I would appreciate advice on how to place a border around an image in cs6.
Thanks in advance.

To add to the previous responses, if you want this only for 1 image on your page, you could either assign a specific ID or CLASS to the DIV that holds that image and assign CSS for that in particular like this:
HTML
<img src="./your/path/to/img.jpg" id="imgwithborder" />
CSS
img#imgwithborder{
border: 1px solid black; /* will render a 1px solid black line on all 4 sides */
Alternatively, you could use inline styling to achieve this:
HTML:
<img src="./your/path/to/img.jpg" style="border: 1px solid black;" />
Good luck.

Can you be a little more specific about what you are trying to do and the application that you want to use? The methods can vary depending on the application and who published it. For instance, if you're using Final Cut Pro here is a discussion describing how the border can be created.

  • How can I create a custom sized video in PP cs6?

How can I create a custom sized video in PP cs6? I have read references to the "desktop" setting but cannot find it. I am trying to find the right settings for a 1080 px x 486 px video (which I need to qualify for hi res on Vimeo).  I need to output a 450 x 1000 px video for
my website. Ideally, I'd like the sequence settings as well as the output settings. I am using still shots- no actual video.

What are the exact properties of the still images, particularly the pixel dimensions and pixel aspect ratio (PAR).* The letterboxing (black bars top & bottom) is most likely a result of a mismatch in these settings. If this is the case, then the easiest fix is to make sure not only the dimensions but the PAR match.
Say for instance your source images are 1000x1000 with a PAR of 1.0 (square pixels) and your sequence is set also set to 1000x1000 but with the PAR set to D1/DV NTSC (0.9091), the result would be letterboxing as seen here:
*if you're not sure about the PAR of your source images, right click on one of them in the Project panel and select Properties.

And how can i make everything without the HD Symbol transparent?
Hide the Background Layer and save a copy in a file format that supports transparency (psd, png-24, …).
What will you use it for?
Because vector data would make sense for printing, so Illustrator might be a better choice than Photoshop for this.

With the Layer that contains the shape selecected try Layer > Layer Style > Stroke.

  • How can I create a frame around a text?

I think everything is in the title. I want to create a frame around a text.
    Thanks

If what you want is a solid line around the text, set the text in a text box. In the Graphic Inspector click on Stroke and choose Line. In the little menu below that click the arrows and choose the type of line (or dots/dashes) you want. Choose the color (if other than black) and then the weight of the line— from the pt menu. Instead of line you can choose frame, but these don’t always look good with text. To allow some space around the text, go to the Text Inspector and adjust the Inset Margin to your liking.
You can also set text in a shape by inserting a shape from the menu, double clicking in the shape and typing.

  • Creating a border around a image

I am trying to creat a bborder around our company logo so it can be put on a transparent sticker. I currently have the logo on a white background

OK.. so this is going to be a bit tricky.
Here is what I did to add a border to your logo:
First, I added the half inch border to your canvas like I did in my past post...
Then, select the white color, like my first post, and delete it.
Then, go back to select color range, and sample all of the colors in the logo to select the whole logo.
Then, expand the selection by however many pixel you'd like:
Then, fill the selection with white, or whatever color you want the border to be:
    Hope this helps,

  • How can I create an accessible tagged PDF in Illustrator CS6?

I have put alt text on the slices but when I save the file as a PDF it isn't tagged. How can I use these alt tags to make the PDF accessible? How can I tag the text in the Illustrator file so it is tagged in the PDF?

I do wonder why there are instructions on how to add alt tags in Illustrator, and they only work if you create HTML. It sounds like Illustrator is going to be a legacy product in favour of InDesign, if it can't create tagged PDFs with Alt Tags for images. In this case, the Illustrator file is placed in InDesign, so even though InDesign can create tagged PDFs, the tagging doesn't work for placed Illustrator content. So it sounds like we either do the tagging from scratch in Acrobat, as you say, or we try to bring in the content directly into InDesign and tag it there.
If only Adobe wholeheartedly supported accessible documents so we could more easily use it to meet WCAG 2.0 Level AA standards which are mandatory for our organisation. We are looking at CommonLook software to make the process of creating accessible PDFs easier and quicker. It's just hard to believe the lack of support from Adobe on this. Acrobat doesn't even come close to checking against WCAG 2AA and the online help is very hit and miss and full of broken links. For such an expensive product it's very disappointing, so thank goodness for other companies who see this as an opportunity to provide a better service.

  • How can I create a black and white image similar to what I see in the "Replace Color" tool?

Hi all, I'm just wondering how I can create a black and white image similar to what I see in the preview window of the "Replace Color" tool. See attached screenshot for clarification -- I need the grass to be black while the soil is white or vice versa. Any tips?

One way is to use Select>Color Range
Make a new Color Fill Layer>White
    (Layer>New Fill Layer>Solid Color)
Put a new color fill layer below>black
Just invert the layer mask on the top fill layer for the opposite effect.

    Hello Omar,
The example code Programmatic Printing of TestStand Reports - Modular contains a sequence that will convert an XML file to an HTML file given the XML file's path and the path to the stylesheet.  It may need to be altered to fit with the modifications you have already made to the report generation routines, but I think it should definitely get you off on the right foot.  Let me know if you have any questions!

  • How can I put a border around my page, or around text?

I rarely use Pages. Only when Textedit won't do something.
I want a frame (or box or border or whatever you want to call it) around my page. I haven't been able to figure it out from the Help. I found something about a "text box" but that seems to require creating the box first.
    Thanks a lot!
Also, it seems that you don't have any control over where a text box is when you create it. There must be something I'm missing here.

    Hi:
You don't say whether you've got Pages 1 or Pages 2.
The techniques are a little bit different. But in either one, you might find it easier to follow this to begin by choosing "View / Show Layout from the menu.
In Pages 1, you create a text box from the insert menu, choosing insert / text.
In Pages 2, you can simply click on the T icon in the toolbar. Use View / Customise Toolbar if it's not there, and put it there.
The text box will show on your page. Where it is doesn't matter: you can size and move it wherever you want - including outside the layout margins of your page. Just be aware that what you can print may depend on your printer. Some (mostly lasers nowadays) won't print to the edge of the page.
To size and move your text box, you click on the margin outside it and then select / all (Command / a) to put handles on it. If this doesn't let you move it, or it springs back once you have, then go to the Arrange menu and send it back. This is because when forward it can be confined by other things on the page - even provision for a header or footer in the blank template, for example: so you might not necessarily see what's stopping it being moved.
But Pages is a hands on program. It's always harder to describe what you do than it is to do it. Play around with it; get the hang of it. OK, so now you've got your text box. Now bring up an Inspector box, and choose the Object Inspector: the one with the square and the circle. That's where you put your borders in. Choose the line style, the colour, and point size you want, and there you are. You can do this with other text already entered: the box will hide it if the box is at the front, but if it's sent back text or other objects there when you started the box will show (and print) through it.
You can border your page with shapes in much the same way, but a text box is maybe the simplest. And you can also overlay text boxes or other objects if you want multiple borders, special effects, or when you really get into it, line and border fonts you can get from 3rd party suppliers. A freeware example is "Borders" and you can search for it in Mac OsX downloads.
Some printers will also allow you to surround your page with a border. If so, you'll find it simpler, but the border will go where the printer wants, and you'll only be able to set margins, which it will follow.
Here's a tip: if you want objects you work with centred on the page sometimes, you can choose in Pages preferences to have guidelines originate from the centre of your object as you move it across the centre of your page. When you get two of them, your object is centred. But be careful if you've set up for facing pages with the margins different: there's one centre for a left page, and another for the right one.
Too hard? Not if you use the program. You'll find out what's there, and use it easily. But Pages is not a toy, and it's not a mere text editor. Don't waste your money by letting it rot. Learn it, and you'll be astonished at what it can do.
You can also do borders with other objects, like shapes, and the principles are much the same. Choose what best suits your project, once you know what's there. But Text Edit? You've got to be joking. It's like the old IBM/DOS one with fonts thrown in. Better learn Pages before it bores you to death!
    Cheers.

  • FAQ: How can I create a scrolling gallery of images?

You can use Flash Catalyst to create galleries, for example a scrolling list of thumbnails that display larger images when clicked. Here are some tutorials that explain how:
Create a photo gallery (using list interactions), on the FlashCats blog
Create a data list component -- Don't let the title scare you, a "data list" is a really powerful component to get to know better; it enables creation of very creative visual things like galleries. When you need repeating items, consider using a data list.

    Hi there,
You can create a scroll motion where the image will fade out on scrolling, you need to use the Opacity tab under Scroll Effects Panel.
If you particularly need the image to be blur out, then you need to edit that image in any image editing program and make one copy of that image as blurred, then place both images (actual and blurred) on that page and use scroll motion or fade option to replace images.

  • How do I create rounded corners on an image in CS6?

    Hello There!
In the previsous version of Photoshop, I use to do the following so that my pictures had rounded corners:
    Open a picture
Click the layer mask button twice
Then use the rectangle tool to get my rounded corners on the preloaded image - Presto, all done!
This does not work in CS6.  Does anyone have a better method?  I just want to have rounded corners (radius 5) to my photos.
Thank you so much for your help!
    -K

You can still use a Rounded Rectangle for a vector layer mask.
Draw your path first, then choose Layer - Vector Mask - Current Path
