"easily" is rarely associated with illustrator scripting...we're lucky if there's a way, hard it may be.

How do I limit number of characters in a JTextField?(different from others)

Hi,
I know this question has been posted several times on this forum, but my question is actually a different one. So please read.
I have the following code that puts two JTextFields in a JFrame. I want to limit the number of characters in the first JTextField to three characters. What's different about my question from other solutions provided, is that I don't want to be able to type more than three characters in the JTextField, and then not be able to get out of JTextField unless I have three or less characters. What I do want, is to have maximum of three characters, not be able to type the fourth, and have access to the other JTextField at all times.
I have tried the following solution of setting an InputVerifier to my JTextField, but it hasn't worked, since I can still type the fourth character.

Thanks, JayDS! Your suggestion worked. And I've come up with the following code with help of your suggestion. However, I'm not happy with the fact that I see empty spaces in my JFormattedTextField when I don't have anything entered in it, or when my textfield has focus and I click it again. Also, I'd like the text alignment to always stay on the right, even if I have less than 3 digits.

How can I easily see the areas that I am painting back from a mask?

I have an image that I applied a Color Balance adjustment layer to, I added CYAN and then I hit Option + Delete on the layer and now I am selectively painting the Cyan color on my image.There are some parts where I have to paint through metal mesh and I'm having a hard time seeing which parts I applied the paint to and which parts I did not, and also where I may have overpainted onto areas I did not want to.
Is there an easy way to see which parts have been painted back and which have not?

The red shows, or is, your mask.
I think you'll find less confusion sticking witht he layers panel for now.
There are two ways to view your mask directly from the layers pallet: Opt+clicking the mask shows a BW version of it. Opt+Shift+clicking on it shows you the red rubilith version of it. Red is the default color, but in many instances another color might be more visible, depending on the colors within your image. At the bottom of the tool pallet is the quick mask icon: double click it to choose the color and opacity of your choice.

How can I easily remove/uninstall itunes 11, its components, and all my songs from a windows 7 laptop?

My Compaq's 38gb disk C is full, rendering my itunes library unworkable. I'd really like to know how to wipe my computer clean of itunes and all related files. Then I hope to reinstall itunes and import my songs from my external hard drive to disk D with 77gb of available storage.

Maybe I should step back and say that I was in the process of importing my whole library from a 2003 Powerbook G4 via an external hard drive when my Compaq's disk C filled up. Then I started uninstalling programs from disk C and adding more itunes files. Now my itunes library is a real mess with parts of albums in different áreas, and compilation albums transferred as individual songs... Even after all that, over half my songs still need to be imported into itunes. Since I'm a real novice at all this, I'm wondering if a frest start might be the easiest way to clean this mess up.

Hello Annabel,
To move entire projects export them as Aperture Libraries, and then import those Libraries into the other Aperture Library:
Select the Project in the Inspector, then
File -> Export -> Project as Library
In the other Library do:
File -> Import -> Library/ Project
But I am not quite convinced, that the size of your current Aperture Library is responsible for the slowness of Aperture - Aperture is designed to cope with huge libraries.
You may want to post your hardware setup and details of your library, and some of the hardware experts here may help you to find the reason for the slowness.
A huge library should only be a problem, if the projects are too big, and if you have many, many smart albums at the root level of your library.
So keep the projects small, and try to move some of your smart albums to lower levels in your folder structure (then Aperture does not need to scan all of your images to build the smart album).
Other reasons for Aperture's slowness may be, e.g.
An overfull system drive and/or external drive (keep at least 20% of your drives empty)
lack of RAM
a corrupted Aperture Library, that needs repairing
Have you checked those options, before you split your library? It would be a pity to split it, for you would loose the ability to browse all parts at the same time, to use all your images in the Media Browser, etc.

Duplicate annihilator is a good tool for finding duplicates - http://www.brattoo.com/propaganda/
If you are seeing them in the finder then don't - you should never go into the iPhoto library using the finder

I have a similar problem. My point is my photos are not importing as duplicates, they are duplicating and moving from one album to another, sometimes bumping the contents of said folder to another location. Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can only locate your device when it is logged into iCloud and 'Find My Phone' is enabled, additionally the device will need to be switched on and connected to a wifi or cellular network.
Unfortunately, you cannot activate iCloud or 'Find My Phone' remotely.
If the device is wiped by you or another, you may not be able to locate the device (although some have reported they can)

You cannot use it. You would have had to set it up on your ipod itself before you lost it. Since you did not "turn on the icloud", then you have not set up find my ipod.

The Finder reports File information. The date and time of the photo are in the Photo's Exif metadata. The Finder has no awareness of this. All photos apps on any system do.
