How Can I Keep My 8800 On "Silent" But Let Specific Numbers Ring Audibly?
I need to allow my BlackBerry 8800 ring loudly at night for specific numbers (I'm on a search and rescue team,) but I don't want to completely set the phone on "Loud" because there are some people who call my number by accident at any time from 2am through 6am. Can I set my phone so that I can keep it on "Silent" but still let a few numbers ring through with the audible ringer? How can I do this? I don't mind being woken at 2am for an emergency, but not because someone keeps calling me by mistake. Please help!!!

No mention of the Touch, it works differently from other iPods and has no "disk mode" as such.
I think it can be used as a storage device by using a 3rd party App, search the the App Store for such items.
Photos transferred to your Touch via iTunes will be of severely compromised quality i.e 640x480 pixel resolution and file size around 600-700 kb. These can be retrieved, again using a 3rd party application on your computer, such as [Touch Copy|http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy> but you will not get back original quality images.

I have a 2TB external hard drive that I want to store my ripped movies on and free up space on my Mac. How can I do this?
Is there a reason you don't want to keep your entire iTunes folder on the external.
Everything will work just fine and it is simpler if everything in iTunes is in one location (the iTunes folder).
Copy entire /Music/iTunes/ folder to external.
Hold Option and launch iTunes.
Select Choose library... and select the iTunes folder on the external.
That is all you need to do. -
How can we encourage Apple to develop blocking calls from specific numbers?
Looking through posts on here, I see that neither AT&T nor the iPhone itself permits an iPhone owner to block calls from one or more specific numbers.
For some reason, although I've had my mobile number for years, I've recently started to receive daily calls from one specific number, an ignorant person who calls at all times of the day and night, barely apologizing for yet again dialing incorrectly. Very annoying.
Yes, I know I could change my number, but literally hundreds of people have used this number for years, and I'm truly loathe to start over.
In reading posts here and on AT&T, I gather this is not an uncommon problem. I assume that even if AT&T is unwilling to institute call blocking, this is a problem Apple could solve with iPhone software. What's the best way to encourage Apple to include this in a future iPhone software update?

In the meantime, you could create a ringtone of "silence" and assign it to that person's number. This way you wouldn't be disturbed when the person calls until you can work out a solution with ATT. -

My computer has died and will not be working ever again. Problem is, i have all of my songs on that computer in my itunes library as well as on my phone. Now i want to add some songs to my phone from some new cds and it tells me i will loose all my songs on my phone right now when i perform the sync. How can i keep all of the songs on my iphone because now i do not have copies of these songs anymore except on my iphone?????? From what i have read, itunes is a joke because it only goes one way apparently. Not happy with itunes right now, more then a bit of a joke
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion. Use your backup copy of your computer to put everything on the new one.
If for some reason you have failed to backup, big mistake, then you can transfer itunes purchases from the iphone to the computer: File>Transfer Purchases
You may be able to buy a 3rd party program to get any other music off of the iphone ( not supported by Apple).
When you sync the iphone, it will erase the current content and replace with content form the new computer.

Here's the issue. Kids got themselves into some trouble on iPods. We set all restrictions any turned off iMessage etc, which I noticed they can't turn back on bc it's gray with the don't allow account changes set. BUT, it still allows Wi-Fi to be turned on and off! How can I disable them being able to turn that on wo asking me?? In ios 7, the blocking feature, fabulous, BUT, how can I keep the kids from UNBLOCKING numbers I have blocked? What I am looking to do actually is allow my kids to be able to text family but block everyone else. And ask me to turn on wi fi. How and can this even be done? Right now my d text is turned off completely. And she knows the inside and out of her device so she can turn wi fi on herself. On vacation she entered the wi fi code of our condo and so I did forget network, which didn't work and wi fi kept connecting anyway wo requiring password again! HELP! Thanks :) Also, they have iPods now but am asking these questions based on them getting our 4s's with ios 7.
TeresaBoo, I empathize with your dilemma and have a similar problem. I'm trying desperately to keep my teenage daughter away from a controlling and abusive boyfriend. Of course, she is in denial and thinks it's love. Sure, I can block text messages through our wireless provider, but iMessages run on an independent network. I can block a phone number from iMessaging on her phone, but she can unblock it just as easily. I wish there was some way for parents to create a password to protect settings. Don't let negative comments get you down. Honestly, if someone can't relate to your question or offer help, why are they even bothering to comment??

When Mail is Open on iMac, how can I keep mail from also going to iPhone?
I spend most of the day on my iMac, with Apple Mail open. Over a few hours, I get dozens or more emails. I deal with them on my Mac as they come in or I have time. Now the same emails also show up on my iPhone and iPad. How can I keep from having the emails sent to my iPhone and iPad when I have mail open on my iMac? It used to be that when my iMac was open and mail on, I couldn't get mail on my iPhone, which is just what I wanted.

You need to set up a separate iCloud account for each person that does not want to share their iCloud data. If you share an iCloud account with someone, any data you both sync with the shared account is merged, and you end up with each other's data on your device(s). Yes, I was referring to the iTunes ID not needing to be the same as the ID used for iCloud. In order to set up an Apple ID your children will need to have a valid email address that can be verified by Apple. Apple requires this so they have a way of contacting the owner if there is a problem with the account, such as when you may need to reset the password on the account. When you set up the ID, Apple will send a verification email to this email account and you will need to click on the verificating link in the email to complete the process. If they don't currently have an email account you can just set one up with gmail or another free email hosting service. They don't have to use the account but you will need it to set up the ID. -
Having arranged some scanned pictures in an album in I-Photo how can I keep them in the order I have chosen when I move the album. They all have the scan date and not the taken date and move to new positions if I move them from one album to another.
Is there any way to re-number them in the order I have chosen so that they can then be sorted by number? The scans are all from pre-digital images that I wish to move to a photobook and I don't want to have to organise them twice!

Now I am back on my Mac. I meant the following: Batch Change the date for a large range of photos, that should have a date stepped in increments.
Select all Photos at once and use the command "Photos > Batch Change".
Then set the date for the first photo and select an increment, e.g. one minute.
Now all photos will get a new date assigned, incremented by one minute, in the sequence you have selected. So you will be able to sort them by date. This way it will be unnecessary to change the titles or filenames. -

My dad and I shared an iTunes account for years and now I'm getting my own, how can I keep my music and apps? I'm worried that I won't have any ability to access my apps and music. We have our itunes separated on different computers, so I have all of my stuff separated from his, but I don't know how to put them in my new account.
Well... there really isn't any fully legal way to do this.
The simplest solution is to continue sharing the same iTunes purchasing acct, but create different ones for iCloud (assuming that's why you needed to do the split).
Slightly less kosher: Burn AUDIO CD's, of the music then copy them back to your new account.
BE sure to do this from original acount, To keep the music info, you'll copy over the CDDB file (in prefs somewhere) - since this maintains the data of CDs that you've had in library.... (it isn't carried over onto a user created CD.)

Ok, so my whole family has the same apple ID so that we can all get the same music, and we want to be able to use icloud so that when one person buys a song it will push to all of our devices. (1) - when I open Firefox I recently have clicked on the hyperlink for HTML at the bottom of page, it works great for my gmail and yahoo accounts. However, it is not a permanent fix, as it apparently lasts just for the daily session. How can I keep my internet, et al. HTML permanently?
(2) - Firefox v24.0 is said to be fast and faster! However, I am not finding it so. when I click on a link or open a tab, it is frustrating as the tab labors too long to open...I more than not click on reload, which appears to help somewhat. Any suggestions?
(3) - I've just printed out the Mozilla Support Q&A on the error message from Firefox stating that it cannot load the website...how to I remedy this, as it occurs constantly with my Yahoo mail login?
(4) Finally, several weeks ago I inadvertently popped the "HEALTH" Bookmark (I have a Bookmarks Toolbar), which is excellent (had it with WinXP also, now with Win7), but I seem to pop, double click, or something or other, that makes a bookmark folder jump into the wild blue yonder! It may be that the site stores your preference in a cookie, and you might have set Firefox to delete the cookie when you exit the browser. There are a few built-in ways to do this:
* Set Firefox to "Keep [cookies] until: I close Firefox" on the Privacy Options (you can create an exception for your mail sites)
* Set Firefox to "Clear history when Firefox closes" on the Privacy Options
* Use a private browsing window to visit your mail site
It's also possible that add-ons or external software may clean out cookies, or that there is a problem with the database file Firefox uses the store cookies.

Mail,contacts,calendars
Go to each email and unselect contacts.
Once this is complete all the contacts you add on the devices will stay local. Downfall of this is when you get a new phone you will not be able to transfer data to new phone unless you use computer to back it up
