How can I make a palm tree sway?
How can I make a palm tree sway?
I have a palm tree that is a tiff file with alpha. I would like the tree trunk to bend a little and a few of the branches to sway as though it’s gently moving in the wind.
What would be the easiest way to make that happen?
Should I save the trunk and a few leaves as separate elements, and then animate them in motion.
Or is there any way to turn my palm tree into a shape in motion, add edit points and key frames to animate it?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
Down and dirty: highlight the tree's layer, move the anchor point to the base of the tree, add an Oscillate Behaviour to its Shear X axis. Adjust the Amplitude to 5, Speed to 7 or so, depending on how breezy the day is.

Edited by: user652484 on Aug 2, 2009 3:45 AMDear,
Creating a Hierarchical Tree based on database table required a table with self-joined column like scott's emp table where column empno refered by mgr, a Data Query with PRIOR clause and a procedure call from the Form Level When-New-Form-Instance trigger.
There are many ways to make Hierarchical Tree. I am describing one of them bellow. Please follow the steps:
01. Create the following table
CREATE TABLE EMPLOYEE(
EMPLOYEE_ID NUMBER(4),
EMPLOYEE_NAME VARCHAR2(50),
MANAGER_ID NUMBER(4),
CONSTRAINT EMPLOYEE_PK PRIMARY KEY(EMPLOYEE_ID),
CONSTRAINT EMPLOYEE_FK FOREIGN KEY(MANAGER_ID)
REFERENCES EMPLOYEE(EMPLOYEE_ID)
02. Insert some data on it
03. Create a form module and name it HTREE_DEMO
04. Create a Data Block on this form and name it CONTROL.
05. Create a Hierarchical Tree Item on it and name it EMP_TREE. Hierarchical Tree must be single item on single block.
05. Write the following query on Data Query of the EMP_TREE Item
SELECT 1, LEVEL, EMPLOYEE_NAME, NULL, EMPLOYEE_ID
FROM EMPLOYEE
CONNECT BY PRIOR EMPLOYEE_ID = MANAGER_ID
START WITH MANAGER_ID IS NULL
06. Add the following line of code on the Form Level When-New-Form-Instance Trigger
FTREE.POPULATE_TREE('CONTROL.EMP_TREE);
07. Run the form
08. Enjoy! -
How can I make tree view for hierarchical data from select with connect by?
If we have selected hierachy with connect by clause, how can we make it to see in tree view?
You can't do this using the ADF, Tree Binding used by JHeadstart.
However, If you have a recursive relationship (for example managerid) you can get a tree what you want as follows:
- create one root ViewObject that returns the top-level employees without a manager by setting the where clause to managerid=null
- create a second ViewObject that simply queries all employees
- Create a ViewLink between the two view objects, and create a nested VO usage in the app module for the second view object
- Create corresponding nested group in the application definition file and set the layout style to "tree-form" on both groups.
See Developers Guide, chapter 3, section recursive trees for more info.

How can i make the optimiser to skip this full table scan ??
Hi,
I am trying to tune the below query, I have checked up all the possibilities to skip the full table scan on vhd_calldesh_archive, But am unable to find the predicate in the where clause, which is letting the optimiser to choose the full table scan on vhd_calldesk_archive table, which is very large one. how can i make the optimiser to skip this full table scan.
Please check the below sql script and explain plan ,

Note: cpu costing is offI've tried to look thru your sql and changed it a bit. Of course not testet :-)
Your problem isn't the archive table! I tried to remove the 2 selects from the select-clause. Furthermore you have a lot of nested loops in your explain, which is a performance-killer. Try getting rid of them, perhaps use /*+ USE_HASH(?,?) */.

How can i make the text go vertically in numbers
How can I make the text vertical in numbers? I have merged the cells and cannot find an option for making it go vertical as opposed to horizontal.
I already gave two tools to fit this kind of needs.
tip #1 :
--{code}
--[SCRIPT write_vertically]
--=====
--=====
Save the script as a Script: write_vertically.scpt
Move the newly created file into the folder:
<startup Volume>:Users:<yourAccount>:Library:Scripts:Applications:Numbers:
Maybe you would have to create the folder Numbers and even the folder Applications by yourself.
In a cell, type a word to write vertically then select it.
CAUTION, don’t select the cell but the word which must be highlighted.
Go to the Scripts Menu, choose Numbers, then choose “write_vertically”
The script insert in the cell the word after inserting a return between every characters.
For my own use, I link a shortcut to the script thank to FastScripts.
--=====
The Finder’s Help explains:
To make the Script menu appear:
Open the AppleScript utility located in Applications/AppleScript.
Select the “Show Script Menu in menu bar” checkbox.
Under 10.6.x,
go to the General panel of AppleScript Editor’s Preferences dialog box
and check the “Show Script menu in menu bar” option.

--[SCRIPT rotate_cell_contents]
<VolumeDeDémarrage>:Users:<votreCompte>:Library:Scripts:Applications:Numbers:
--=====
--=====
Save the script as a Script: rotate_cell_contents.scpt
Move the newly created file into the folder:
<startup Volume>:Users:<yourAccount>:Library:Scripts:Applications:Numbers:
Maybe you would have to create the folder Numbers and even the folder Applications by yourself.
Select a cell whose contents must be rotated for 90 degrees.
Go to the Scripts Menu, choose Numbers, then choose “rotate_cell_contents”
--=====

I purchased three albums last week and only two of them were charged. How can I make sure that the third album gets charged in a timely fashion?
Well, thanks for feeling with me, patkosanke ... AND for your wise advice.
I did followed your advice immediately and erased all the service number as well as S/Ns.
Can you, however, give me any "direct number" through which I can get hold of someone and request for what you're suggesting?
I believe I had talked with the person by the name of "Charlie" (I think... I hope I'm correct...) when I was having the same problem with the last device. He was very kind and helpful, though I ended up getting the device that brought the same problem.
Charlie told me that if I had any more problems I should call him. But I forgot to take down his direct number.
Or maybe I should call the main office and ask for him. But my memory is questionable as to his name, and besides I don't even know his last name either. There could be more than one "Charlies" in Palm.
So, if you could somehow email me some direct number (other than the one that keeps on hooking me up with those people in the overseas who are answering the phone only to sympathize with & apologize to me but can only issue a false hope with the SRO#. More than once I was given the promise that the supervisor would call me back within an hour or two but I ended up calling back after I had been left hanging in the air all night long.) where I can talk to someone like I did with Charlie last time who can truly carry out the promise, I would truly appreciate it, patkosanke. ^^
Thanks

Where are you located?
Just go and buy an iTunes gift card at any store in your country.
Then follow all the steps you did, but when it asks you for the credit card number, there shoujld be a GIFT CARD option which will let you load your account witht eh funds form the gift card without providing a credit/debit card #. -

I synced two of my email accounts via gmail's POP3 capabilities. But now my iphone's gmail inbox only shows a random selection of emails (i.e. right now it is May 31, 2013 but the emails in my inbox are a couple from Nov 12, a few from Oct 12, and then some way older than that and so on.When I log into my gmail from a computer, I see all my emails in the logical, standard order. How can I make my iphone inbox match what I see when I log on using a PC?
If you're trying to decide between using POP and IMAP, we encourage you to use IMAP.
Unlike POP, IMAP offers two-way communication between your web Gmail and your email client. This means when you log in to Gmail using a web browser, actions you perform on email clients and mobile devices (ex: putting mail in a 'work' folder) will instantly and automatically appear in Gmail (ex: it will already have a 'work' label on that email the next time you sign in).
IMAP also provides a better method to access your mail from multiple devices. If you check your email at work, on your mobile phone, and again at home, IMAP ensures that new mail is accessible from any device at any given time.
Finally, IMAP offers a more stable experience overall. Whereas POP is prone to losing messages or downloading the same messages multiple times, IMAP avoids this through two-way syncing capabilities between your mail clients and your web Gmail.

- Have you tried a reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Try syncing the iPod to your computer. Then delete from iTunes and sync. that should delete it from the iPod. Then redownload it. -
I have a new MAC MINI and I want to install a second monitor. I have one connected to the HDMI and it works. I can't get a signal to the other one. It is connected from the thunderbolt to its HDMI port. How can I make it work?
Could be a bad cable or bad Thunderbolt port.
You have 90 days of free telephone support on a new device. You can call them at 1-800-MY-APPLE. Have your Mini's serial number handy
You can also make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
