How can I make it so I'm not required to activate addons for each website?

With the new firefox patch last week, every time I go to a website with a pdf I have to click to allow adobe acrobat unless I want to use firefox's crappy pdf reader. Same for other addons like silverlight, java, etc.
Is there any way to avoid clicking this at every site I go to for every addon I want to use? Or is it time to uninstall firefox and just use Chrome?

That's strange. Setting "Always Activate" on the Add-ons page definitely should bypass the message. While it is possible to override that on a site-by-site basis, the global setting should be sufficient.
Could you check another way:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''plugin.st''' and pause while the list is filtered
Do you see any of these (indicating "Always Activate"):
* '''plugin.state.java''' set to 2 (Java Platform SE plugin)
* '''plugin.state.npctrl''' set to 2 (Silverlight plugin)

How can I make WL 8.1 flush the cache and/or pool for 1.1 EJBs

Hi,
I'm using 1.1 deployment descriptors for my CMP entity bean that were previously
used in the WL 5.1 version of my project.
Things do get deployed but I've observed confusing information when monitoring
the EJB via Admin Console.
What appears is that the Weblogic container is not flushing the cache and/or pool
after the bean has finished processing and also a sufficient time has expired
(i.e. the idle-timeout-seconds)
From what I've understood via the on-line information is that each EJB has its
own cache (since I've not done anything special for that) and the instance in
cache is only passivated when the cache is full and the server need to activate
another instance. On passivation, it appears to be returning the instance to the
pool. But its unclear/undocumented when the pool is cleared, if at all.
What I want is that:
1. A way to get my cached instance passivated
2. A way to get my pooled instance flushed.
The reason I'm looking into this is becasue in my case it appears that the cached/pooled
instance are contributing to OutOfMemory errors and because of the nature of requirements,
etc. we need to have the cache size be high for certain processing.

There are different patches for different versions of WLS.
I'd mention 'CR128026' to them to get started.

This should do it ...
1. Under widgets ... place a Blank Composition widget onto your Muse page
2. Create a normal text box (however big you want) and fill that with the required text you want shown for your 1st slide
3. Select the 1st (small thumbnail) box underneath the slideshow ... there's 3 shown by default
4. Click and drag the text box, you created, onto the Blank Composition widget ... you will notice the widget box will give a BLUE outline ... this is showing you that you are adding the text box to the Blank Composition widget ...
5. Center or place your text box accordingly ... change your Font, colours, formatting, etc to the way you want it
6. Repeat this for however many text slides you need ... but select a different thumbnail box for each slide ... to add more than the 3 boxes shown just click the little '+' sign next to the thumnail boxes
7. Under the properties panel for the Blank Composition (you know that small Blue circle and white arrow icon?) select Fading under Transistions
8. Preview and edit your slide show accordingly
That should be it ... you can add most things in the compositon widgets ... I actually use the TEXT option to show testimonials ...

How can I get Captivate to revert to the top of the screen for each slide after published?

I have a project captured in 1024x768. If the user has many toolbars in browser, they have to scroll to see the whole screen. If they use F11 in IE, this virtually eliminate the problem. In MAC however, there is no F11 feature. So, how can I get the published Captivate file to load each new screen at the top scroll position? I have tried changing the html and tried adding Multiple Actions on success to click boxes with Go to Next slide and Execute JavaScript command: onload='window.scrollTo(0,1)'. Neither are working. Any idea how to get the screens to stop holding the previous screen position?

Hi GoldenCJ,
Please remove "onload" from your javascript command. The "onload" event is fired when a html page(or any other page for that matter) is loaded. In your case the page is already loaded, that is, the page is loaded again when the user moves from one slide to another. Hence your javascript will not be executed.
So just have
"window.scrollTo(0,0)" as your javascript.
This should work fine.
P.S. The execution of the javascript is browser dependent and browser settings dependent.I tried with chrome,IE 6 and FF 3.5, it is working. Please make sure that your target audience have javascript enabled in their browser.

From what I understand Imesh is P2P software used to download various things. (Like Limewire.) I would just uninstall Imesh. My favorite utility to uninstall stuff is ccleaner, it makes uninstalls quick and painless. You can download it at http://www.piriform.com/ they make great free ware.
Now that the Imesh is removed do you have Firefox installed? When you install Firefox it will ask you if you want to use it as the default browser.

If it is set up as IMAP, when you delete a message on the phone, it will delete it from the mail store on the server, meaning it will not download to other devices. That's the way IMAP is supposed to behave.

Hi, I also have a similar issue. Just bought a new laptop operating on Win 7. I was able to sync my iphone to my old laptop (old version of Windows) and vice versa. I downloaded the latest version of ITunes onto the new laptop. While ITunes could detect my iphone, I can't select the "Transfer Purchases from ipod" option from the "File" menu. It's "greyed out". Any idea how I can proceed?

How can I get Firefox to use Front Page 2003 as an editor for my website?

I have a website called www.gethsemanechurch.net. I use Front Page 2003 to update and maintain the site. Currently this was all being done using IE. However, my IE is now updated to IE10 and I am having problems with IE10. I figured I would try to use Firefox at this time.
My OS is Win 7 and I am on a desktop.

How do you use FrontPage now: do you edit your web locally and then upload it? Or do you edit the pages "live" on the site? Whichever browser you use, your workflow does not need to change. The main difference would be when you preview local files: FrontPage is likely to launch the local pages in your default browser.
With respect to editing ''inside'' Firefox, you can switch your source code viewer from the built-in window to an external program such as FrontPage. However, the file that opens in FrontPage in that scenario will be a local copy in a temp folder, it won't be your live website. For best results, I suggest continuing to do your edits directly in FrontPage.
Also... if you find that FrontPage is not creating pages compatible with Firefox, you may be able to adjust the settings, or you have the option to change to a completely different editor. One free one I've seen suggested is [http://www.bluegriffon.org/ BlueGriffon].
