How can I migrate my Thunderbird email to Outlook 2013 on a new computer? I am told I need to save the Thunderbird files as psd files - how do I do that?

I saw the instructions for moving email from Thunderbird to Outlook 2013 via gmail files but I have lots of folders. Microsoft says that if I can save the Thunderbird files as psd files, Outlook will read them. But I cannot see how to do this. Is it possible?

Do you have a link to the guidance that suggests you save to "psd" files?
I wonder if it actually said "pst" files - these are the proprietary file format used by Outlook. But you'll probably have to pay for a conversion utility.

    - Transfer iTunes purchases by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
    - Transfer ther music by:
Copy music from Ipod to new computer...: Apple Support Communities
Note t transfer iTunes purchases you have to know the account ID and password for the account that purchased them.  Also, if you did not purchase the music, you are not entitled to use the music.

    Pertains to a Windows machine..
Definitely get other opinions on this. I last did this myself in 2010.
The most important thing, is to make sure you have an account (which I think you must have, or you probably couldn't have posted here).
As I recall, I downloaded ADE to my new computer, launched the software, authorized the new computer by supplying my login, and then just moved the 'My Digital Editions' folder to the new machine.
Be sure to de-authorize your old machine after you have done all of this, or over time you could end up exceeding your 'simultaneous devices'-limit for accessing your materials. I suspect that *from within the app itself, while it is still installed on your old machine* may be your only opportunity to do this. It is certainly the best/easiest.
Hey Internet! Have you done this more recently than I? If so, please chime in to make corrections or add detail.

"i want to know will yamipod copy everything to my itunes from my ipod like playlists and the name of the ipod , settings etc"
Yamipod copies music (including playlist). Your settings are stored on the iPod and will not change. That includes the name you gave it which should show up in iTunes whenever you connect the iPod.
Yamipod does not transfer play-counts, ratings etc.

How can I move my photos from Photoshop Elements 8 to a new computer also running Elements 8?

I am not sure this is going to work. For one thing, the preferences file is in a different place in Mountain Lion. It is at: ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail/Data/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.pli st. I wouldn't try to move the .plist file, I'd be very surprised if it would work.
I would do a different approach and start with just recreating the mail account(s) you have on the new machine from scratch and let them download your mail from the server. Then if there were e-mails not on the server any more, but stored in the black macbook, I'd copy them from the mailboxes folder, from the old machine to the new. I'm not sure where they are in 10.5.8, but in ML they are at ~/Library/Mail/V2/Mailboxes.
At each stage along the way I'd do a backup, so in case it screws things up, you can revert to a functional Mail.app.

How can i migrate or transfer my email files from my PC to my new MacBook Air?

Here is an Apple knowledgebase article specific to your question. And here is a more general knowledgebase article about transfering data from one computer (including a PC) to a new Mac.
Not to push you away from asking questions here, but did you know that if you go to Apple's main support page (there's a button to it at the top of this window) there's a text box where you can enter a question to find knowledgebase articles? That's generally the first place I go when I have a problem.

  • How can I keep My 2 email accounts and all other using HTML? It only lasts temporarily, i.e. for the day...

    (1) - when I open Firefox I recently have clicked on the hyperlink for HTML at the bottom of page, it works great for my gmail and yahoo accounts. However, it is not a permanent fix, as it apparently lasts just for the daily session. How can I keep my internet, et al. HTML permanently?
    (2) - Firefox v24.0 is said to be fast and faster! However, I am not finding it so. when I click on a link or open a tab, it is frustrating as the tab labors too long to open...I more than not click on reload, which appears to help somewhat. Any suggestions?
    (3) - I've just printed out the Mozilla Support Q&A on the error message from Firefox stating that it cannot load the website...how to I remedy this, as it occurs constantly with my Yahoo mail login?
    (4) Finally, several weeks ago I inadvertently popped the "HEALTH" Bookmark (I have a Bookmarks Toolbar), which is excellent (had it with WinXP also, now with Win7), but I seem to pop, double click, or something or other, that makes a bookmark folder jump into the wild blue yonder! I've posted for answers here and elsewhere, printed out and read all variable instructions to navigate and locate, all to no avail. More sage advice please?
with appreciation and, thanks in advance.

For #1, is the link to use HTML to simplify the interface?
It may be that the site stores your preference in a cookie, and you might have set Firefox to delete the cookie when you exit the browser. There are a few built-in ways to do this:
    * Set Firefox to "Keep [cookies] until: I close Firefox" on the Privacy Options (you can create an exception for your mail sites)
    * Set Firefox to "Clear history when Firefox closes" on the Privacy Options
    * Use a private browsing window to visit your mail site
It's also possible that add-ons or external software may clean out cookies, or that there is a problem with the database file Firefox uses the store cookies.
For #2, did this problem just start recently? Do you notice any relationship with the type of site content (e.g., pages that use Flash or other media)?

  • How can I copy my iTunes library with playcount information to a new computer?!?

    Hello,
I'm about to get a new computer. I have all my music on a external HD, so I won't have problems preserving my music. But I would like to preserve other information too. Especially the play count information. I think it's interesting how my top 25-most-played looks like, and the play count list I have now, took me 2 years to get.
So my question is: Does anyone know how I can copy my iTunes library with all its information (play count, rating, comments, images, last played date etc.) to a new computer?
    Thanks a lot!

Connect the external HDD to the iMac, launch iTunes while holding down the Option key. Choose the option to select library and navigate to the top level folder of the iTunes media on the external. Select it and click OK.

  • Due to a divorce all my music is on my iTunes and iPod. I had to buy a new computer and want to transfer my Library to the new computer. How can I do this without using an external drive and use new computer just like I do the old one? Thanks.

Due to divorce, all my music is on my iTunes and iPod. I have had to buy  a new laptop and want to transfer the library to the new computer before deauthorizing the old one. I dont want to have to use an external drive every time I want to listen to my music. How can I do this and have the same basic iTunes setup as before? HELP!

You might consider itunes match for moving CDs you've copied into your itunes library if you dont have a way to use home sharing.
iTunes match is an optional service offered by apple that costs about $25 a year.  It scans your music library and if it finds music that is already in apple's itunes catalog it'll automatically "unlock"/"store" these in the cloud for you.  Items that it does not find in the catalog it'll upload and store these in the cloud for you and you can download them on your devices.  See http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/

The sync is one way - computer to iphone.  The exception is itunes purchases:  File>Transfer Purchases.
It has always been very basic to always maintan a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion.  Use your backup copy of your computer to put everything back.

  • My motherboard died but the hardrive is still good. How can I get my old bookmarks and copy them to my new computer?

My old Gateway laptop died (about 2 years old)but the harddrive is still good. I was able to retrieve all my old info EXCEPT I can't figure how to get to my old bookmarks file so I can copy them into my new computer. I believe. I have tried several forums, but the instructions don't give me the results I need. I am running my old drive with a USB adapter so I can see all my files, but can't get to/find the bookmark file.
