How can i plug in OC4J 10.1.2 into JDEveloper 10.1.3

Is there a guide to install OC4J 10.1.2 into JDeveloper 10.1.3.
Our production environment is 10.1.2 and we would like to use JDeveloper 10.1.3 however projects must be run under JDK 1.5 which we do not want. Our development is all done in J2EE 1.3 which means we can go as high JDK 1.4. And we do not want to develop in JDK 1.5 and then later build in 1.4.
Any suggestions ??

Thanks for the response.
J2EE 1.3 apps should work in a J2EE 1.4 server however we have to set the JDK to 5.0 for OC4J 10.1.3 server to work! We get errors otherwise...specifically with datasources and spring bean initialization as well as some jsp cannot be found errors.
Here isthe problems we are facing summarized
1) I have set our environment to use J2EE 1.3 libraries and jdk 1.4 (so its compatible with OC4J 10.1.2) however the embedded OC4J server isn't running the app because
- JDK 5.0 is REQUIRED
- Datasources in 10.1.2 don't work in 10.1.3
- we have some spring datasource initialization which doesn't work either
Question
If we develop in jdk 5.0 will the application run in J2EE 1.3 environment properly. What happens if a developer uses some method or class which is only available in 5.0. Wouldn't we have problems here ? OC4J 10.1.2 wouldn't necessarily support 5.0 applications and we don't want to compile in a different JDK at build time...its just more overhead and not a desirable solution.
My goal is to develop entirely in J2EE 1.3 environment which means with JDK 1.4 BUT i would like our developers to be able to run our applications without too many changes in the embedded OC4J server 10.1.3...which i'm thinking isn't possible!
Would you have any suggestions to resolve this problem ? or is it best to stick to Oracle JDeveloper 10.1.2 which we don't prefer either.
The "watched" features you mention does it support exploded deployments, we definetly do not want to be deploying everytime a developer needs to test their changes and be able to run the app directly within JDeveloper. Is there any documentation on this ? I don't think OC4J supports this which is a major drawback to development like Eclipse and Tomcat do.
Sorry for the long post. Any help would be much appreciated.

Can anyone tell me if this is possible ? To plugin OC4J 10.1.2...
Oracle should really make their products backwards compatible and a little more flexible. We would still like to develop, run and build in J2EE 1.3 environment!

my laptop died, how can I plug my ipod classic into a new pc with out losing all my music, over 10,000 songs?!
    Please help!

Was your iPod previously set up to Manually Manage (where you dragged/dropped the music) or was it set to auto sync (where it started sycning as soon as you plugged it in.)?
If it was set to Manual, you have no worries. Just continue on your way.
If it was set to Auto, you will have to transfer your purchases or redownload them from the iTunes store.
You're either going to have to get the other music back from the websites/CDs you got them from before or find an iPod ripping software program that will do it for you.

Sorry, but you can't.  You'll need to transfer these video and tracks from your iPad to your computer (if they aren't there already) and then sync them each over to your iPod.

If I put music on my Zen he's loading too, but that's bad for the battery

When you mention 'load' are you referring to the Zen being charged because the USB is plugged in ? If so, there is nothing much you can do. Of course if you have a SD card reader, you can load the songs to the SD card and thus you do not need to plug in your ZEN to the PC when you do that.

  • I can't plug in my charger and USB into my Playbook. Therefore, I can't charge me playbook.

Yesterday, I just found out that I can't plug in my charger and USB into my playbook when I want to charge my playbook. Last time that I charged my playbook was 2 weeks ago,I think. And my playbook was 6 months old. I brought it in Christmas, it is Christmas gift for myself. It was my first time buying a blackberry because I thought as a Canadian, I should buy and use more Canadian products, I used to use Ipod and Ipod touch. I am so disappointed with RIM, because it is only 6 months old, my first ipod is about 9 years old now, but it still works very well.
Anyway, I have no idea why this happened, and no idea about how to fix it. Any one can help? I will be really appreciate.
Since I think my playbook is still in warranty, I want to find a RIM station so that they can help me fix it. But I have no idea where it is? I live in Misgauge, near Etobicoke. and also, I just realized that I lost my receipt. I brought it in Bust Buy.
    any one can help?
    Thank you!!!

    Thank you for your response.
I think the female connector on the playbook is the problem, since I am pretty sure that there is no damage on my charger and cable( because I only used my usb cable a few times, and it is always in a drawer. also because it is my only and first playbook, I don't have other cable to verify your question. sorry for that, but I will try to borrow my friends' blackberry cable to verify it, if I can.
However, I have no idea why the female connect broke. It has never ever in any harsh conditions. there is no reason for that.
also, if you would like, could you tell me how I can connect RIM? (i.e. tell me their number or where their service centre is) I would really appreciate.

Have them install Quicktime on their PC's from Apple's website, that's the easiest fix.

  • How can I use multiple row insert or update into DB in JSP?

    Hi all,
    pls help for my question.
"How can I use multiple rows insert or update into DB in JSP?"
I mean I will insert or update the multiple records like grid component. All the data I enter will go into the DB.
    With thanks,

That isn't true. Different SQL databases have
different capabilities and use different syntax, That's true - every database has its own quirks and extensions. No disagreement there. But they all follow ANSI SQL for CRUD operations. Since the OP said they wanted to do INSERTs and UPDATEs in batches, I assumed that ANSI SQL was sufficient.
I'd argue that it's best to use ANSI SQL as much as possible, especially if you want your JDBC code to be portable between databases.
and there are also a lot of different ways of talking to
SQL databases that are possible in JSP, from using
plain old java.sql.* in scriptlets to using the
jstlsql taglib. I've done maintenance on both, and
they are as different as night and day.Right, because you don't maintain JSP and Java classes the same way. No news there. Both java.sql and JSTL sql taglib are both based on SQL and JDBC. Same difference, except that one uses tags and the other doesn't. Both are Java JDBC code in the end.
Well, sure. As long as you only want to update rows
with the same value in column 2. I had the impression
he wanted to update a whole table. If he only meant
update all rows with the same value in a given column
with the same value, that's trivial. All updates do
that. But as far as I know there's know way to update
more than one row where the values are different.I used this as an example to demonstrate that it's possible to UPDATE more than one row at a time. If I have 1,000 rows, and each one is a separate UPDATE statement that's unique from all the others, I guess I'd have to write 1,000 UPDATE statements. It's possible to have them all either succeed or fail as a single unit of work. I'm pointing out transaction, because they weren't coming up in the discussion.
Unless you're using MySQL, for instance. I only have
experience with MySQL and M$ SQL Server, so I don't
know what PostgreSQL, Oracle, Sybase, DB2 and all the
rest are capable of, but I know for sure that MySQL
can insert multiple rows while SQL Server can't (or at
least I've never seen the syntax for doing it if it
does).Right, but this syntax seems to be specific to MySQL The moment you use it, you're locked into MySQL. There are other ways to accomplish the same thing with ANSI SQL.
Don't assume that all SQL databases are the same.
They're not, and it can really screw you up badly if
you assume you can deploy a project you've developed
with one database in an environment where you have to
use a different one. Even different versions of the
same database can have huge differences. I recommend
you get a copy of the O'Reilly book, SQL in a
Nutshell. It covers the most common DBMSes and does a
good job of pointing out the differences.Yes, I understand that.
It's funny that you're telling me not to assume that all SQL databases are the same. You're the one who's proposing that the OP use a MySQL-specific extension.
I haven't looked at the MySQL docs to find out how the syntax you're suggesting works. What if one value set INSERT succeeds and the next one fails? Does MySQL roll back the successful INSERT? Is the unit of work under the JDBC driver's control with autoCommit?
The OP is free to follow your suggestion. I'm pointing out that there are transactions for units of work and ANSI SQL ways to accomplish the same thing.

my macbook wont allow me to use the same hotmail address as i used on my other computers. How can I keep the same email and log into it on a macbook?

That indicates a hardware failure. Read here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1559
If nothing works, you most likely have a hardware failure. Make an appointment at an Apple store to confirm.

  • I was running Firefox on another computer that lost it's motherboard, was able to salvage the harddrive, but my mail files on the older hard drive have a different name, how can I pull or import those older files into firefox running on another computer?

I had been running other email clients for years and finally switched to Firefox. All the while importing my other email folders. So I had quite a large history of email. I had been backing up my system using Acronis for years. My desktop's motherboard crashed and was not worth repairing. I pulled my desktop hard drive and turned it in a standalone drive. I re-established my email on a laptop starting from scratch using Firefox. I would like to import (if possible) the emails history that is stored on the standalone drive (formerly my old hard drive). However, the names of the mail folders on the drives are different. For example: current computer the mail folder is named garlic.com. On the standalone drive (old hard drive) there are several folders and they are named, for instance; mail.garlic.com, mail.garlic-1.com , and so forth. it goes up through garlic-4.com.
How can I pull or import these older folders into my current email folder and see all my old email archives?

You are not going to be able to run your old system from the backup on this old computer as the hardware is incompatible.
You need to get a new computer or a refurbished one.

I have tried that, but the system reads the emails as one long email and I can't find any way of separating them - it ignores spaces, colons and I have also tried putting them through a word doc... still does not work. It works perfectly easily on a PC system!! ( I have just moved to a mac!)

Save the file from Gmail onto your computer and add it to iTunes.  How you save from Gmail is a Gmail question (their own support pages), not an iTunes question.

    Hi,
Please post your query in forum Web Dynpro ABAP Forum, under Application server.
You have to define the source component as in the used component in the target one to do that.
after that you will be able to get data from that component.

    Hi Reddy,
You can do it in multiple ways. One way would be to try transfer the parameters through URL & the other would be to work with the concept of interface nodes. Please try go through these 2 threads ( [Thread 1|Call view of another WDA Component and pass the value to it; & [Thread 2|navigation from one program to another; )where I have explained about working with Interface node in detail. You can refer to this [thread |receving parameters between two standard webdynpro applications;to see as to how you can do the same via parameters in URL.  Hope it would help resolve your problem.

    Uday
