How can I restore the large battery icon that shows that the ipad is charging.  It has disappeared when I charge my ipad2

How can I restore the large battery icon on my ipad2?  It has disappeard and does not appear when I charge my ipad.

It only shows when you turn on your iPad. The moment you slide from left to right it'll disappear.
Note: Charger must be connected.

How can I restore a previous backup in iCloud storage for my iPad?

Restoring an iCloud backup requires you to first erase your iPad.  If you have any newer data that you want to save you'll need to do that first.  Then go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, go through the setup screens on the iPad and when given the option, choose Restore from iPad backup.

  • I have two cell phone, different numbers.  Each has their own apple id.  How can i merge them so apps on one show on the other but keep their emails addresses separate on their own phone?

Have two cell phones, different numbers.  Each has their own apple id.  How can I merge them so apps purchased on one phone show on the other.  But.as each has their own email address, I want to keep these email addresses separate on their own phone?  Thanks.

We do this in my family now.  We have one account for purchases, so it is used to share music and apps (I think that is in Settings/iTunes & App Stores).  Each iDevice has this configured.
Then, each of us has our own iCloud account that is configured under Settings/iCloud.  That then allows us to have our own Mail/Contacts/Calendars/Reminders/Safari Bookmarks/Notes/Passbook/Photo Stream/Documents & Data/Find My iPhone/and Backup.  That Backup piece is pretty sweet and comes in handly if you replace your iDevice.  You can just restore from it.
So we all share the Apple Store account but we all have our own iCloud accounts to keep the rest seperate or things like you mentioned are a nightmare.
In answer to what iCloud does for you: http://www.apple.com/icloud/features/
Think of it as an internet based ("cloud") area for all of those items listed in my response.  What you need to remember is photo stream only maintans the last 1000 pictures so don't count it as a complete backup solution for your pictures.  Even though I rarely sync with a computer these days, I do still try to sync my phone with iPhoto (I have an iMac) so that I have copies of all of my pictures.  1000 may not stretch as far as it sounds.

  • How can I get my Windows Lightroom photos to show in the correct order on Apple TV?

I use Lightroom on Windows 7 and iTunes as well as a current generation Apple TV.  When I export a set of photos in a specific order from Lightroom, the files are named in the proper sequence, but when the photos are displayed in the Apple TV viewer, they do not show in filename sequence.  They apparently show in the date the photos were taken by my camera.  I have a mix of scanned images and photos in my desired sequence, so the Apple TV is next to useless in showing them as a slideshow on my large screen TV.
My investigation led me to believe that Apple TV was showing the photos in the date taken, so I instructed Lightroom to omit that data on the exported files, and the date taken shows as missing on Windows, but in the Apple TV they still show in the same sequence.
    Help!!

Me again.  I'm pretty sure I found a solution to my problem.  I had changed the order of my slides more than once, and it turned out that the "wrong" sequence that Apple TV was using for my slides was the original sequence, not the latest sequence.  I found that when I deleted the Apple TV Photo Cache folder and database, it got rebuilt by iTunes and the slide sequence was correct.  I have no reason why the order did not automatically get updated.  I'm on the rails now!

  • How can I restore Windows 7 to Bootcamp partition - not reformat the entire hard drive?

    Hello Apple (Mac) Community,
I originally posted this question over on answers.microsoft, but no help was forthcoming. Hope someone can help me with a problem that's (almost) making me nuts! I teach graphics to college students. In brief: I run Windows 7 Pro 64 on a Mac Pro tower, along with Snow Leopard (OSX). Windows is loaded on one partition of a 1TB drive. The other partition is a Mac backup. The Mac OS is on a different drive. Everything was going swimmingly with both OS, until recently. Unfortunately, the drive with Windows showed problems and I determined that the HD was either toast or needed a total reformat. My Mac data was all backed-up. Now I wanted to backup Windows so I can easily get back to the relatively happy point of my Windows 7 experience (drivers loaded, dual monitors all working, etc.). I did some online searching and the recommendation was to create a "system image" of the existing Windows 7 install by attaching an external drive, formatting that to NTFS and selecting "backup to image" in Windows. I did that and also took the opportunity to "create a backup disc" on a DVD. (Windows recommended). Next I rebooted back to Mac OS and completely reformatted the problem 1TB disc to a single partition, zero all data, just to see if it would actually reformat. It all worked! So far, so good. Next I used Bootcamp to create two partitions, one for Windows. I then restarted using the Win7 Pro (64) install disc, reformatted the Bootcamp disk to NTFS (as required) and installed Windows 7. After all that is completed and all working, I next try to use the restore from image function while booted in Windows. I'm instructed to restart from the Win install disc, which I do. Here's where things get difficult. When I try to choose restore from image, at that point the installer asks which drives to I want to exclude... but does not show partitions, only full HDs. I do not want to reformat the entire 1TB drive. I only want Windows on the 120gb Bootcamp partition (which is already formatted for Windows BTW). I spent a lot of time online reading through articles with users having the same frustration.
So here (at long last) is my question: How can I either restore Windows just to a Bootcamp partition... using "Windows System Image" or if that can't be done... can I somehow import all of the settings, etc. from the "image" (image is on external HD) into a fresh Win 7 install? So far the "backup disc" also seems useless. I can't even boot to Windows from it. BTW Apple folks: the only response on the MS side was that some "expert" simply posted links on how to install Windows and restore... not helpful with my particular problem of restoring to a partition.
Any help would be appreciated! Hopefully some help that even a Mac user / new Windows user could understand would be better! Thanks!

WinClone 3 is OS X and saves Windows image it makes for restore - that should work but you will have to try and you would need to make a new image unless it also works with a native Windows system restore image. It is now supported and has come a long way.

Paragon Clone OS works and does disk-to-disk clone just like CCC you end up with two bootable drives. But does not work with your setup. It would let you clone and move your Windows install to an SSD or another disk drive though and be bootable.
During its clone process it checks for errors which is very helpful and lets you know - something CCC and others should adopt more of.

I wish for our/my sake you had re-read and rewritten the long 'story' and broken it into a brief list of facts we needed.
    OS X
    Windows
Backup (though external is much safer) and you want bootable OS X clones as well as TimeMachine
    https://support.apple.com/kb/HT1427
    https://support.apple.com/kb/HT1553
There are a number of things to do like chkdsk and others as well as Windows DVD to do automatic system repairs and find out why.
AppleHFS - the abilty to mount and read HFS volumes can be notorious.
I would rearrange and redo your storage setup and how you use the 4-5 internal hard drive bays.

  • How can I restore deleted file attachments from further back than the history tool will let me go?

I have a open form that collects registration information from customers, including documents and images that they can upload using file attachment fields.  Back on 2/24 I inadvertently deleted the several hundree responses that the form had collected up until that point.  Using the history tool, I accessed older, intact versions of the form, selected the deleted rows, and copy/pasted them back into the latest verskon of the document.  It seemed to work fine, but I didn't look closely enough to see that the attachments had been lost.  The file referenvces were still there, but they had little red exclamation marks next to them and couldn't be opened.
A couple week later, I discovered this and tried to go back into the form's hsitory again until before that accident on 2/24.  However, I can no longer go back in time that far.  The system only seems to let me go back around 10 days.
We need to recover the lost file attachmentrs.  Is there  a self-service way for me to restore my form back to 2/24, including file attachments?  If not, could an Adobe supprrt technician hele me to do that?
    Thank you

lol, nevermind. I came across an article that made it easy. For anyone else with this problem it's real simple.
    Open itunes
    File>Add Folder to Library
select 'itunes' and it will add your music to your library
Although it went through all my apps asking if I want to replace or don't replace with newer, when it finished all my music appeared in itunes just like I left it before reinstalling Win 7. Easy Peasy. I've seen others with same problem but nobody seemed to have this easy solution.
Now I can finally plug in my iphone and sync without losing all my music from my iphone.

  • I just upgraded firefox. How can I restore my previous section? I'm in the middle of a project.

Is there a way to restore my previous sessions tabs?
    I just upgraded firefox.
I want to recover all the sites I was working with for project.

There is this offer of a trial version FC Pro X with 30 day runtime:
    http://www.apple.com/final-cut-pro/trial/
Too bad you didn't have a complete backup that could run the previous OS X
and then you could resume using an earlier Final Cut Pro (10) or (7) since a
clone would have been a means toward that position.
    http://www.apple.com/support/finalcutpro/
    http://www.apple.com/support/pro-apps/
This appears to be another good reason to check out all the reasons why one
would want or need to upgrade a working OS X version, since these kinds of
events are known to happen as a direct result.
Sorry to not have an answer to this, other than try & use the Trial version...
Or see if someone at Apple sales/support can field your issue w/ an answer.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • TS2529 How can I restore my data on my iPhone 5 from the back-up of my 3GS?

I tried on one computer but it said that an unknown error occurred. So, I tried restoring it from another back-up of my 3GS from another computer but it said that the iPhone refused the request.  My iTunes is up to date, so I really don't know what to do anymore.  I got my iPhone 5 a few days back as a hand-me-down since my dad got a 5s.  I really need to transfer the data from my old iPhone to the new one.  I've already spent/ wasted hours just trying to reslove this issue, but, I failed. PLEASE do help me.  Thanks

Hi! I reset my iPhone to factory settings.  After this, I restored it from my back up bit then a new problem came up saying that it cannot be restored because the data is corrupt or not compatible.  I did the advice of people on the internet to turn off the antivirus and such but it still didn't work.

  • TS2529 My calendar cleared on it's on, how can I restore it? I have not backed up my iPad....oops!

My calendar cleared itself. I have not backed up my iPad....can I restore the calendar?? how???
    Thx!

First of all have your friend restore the iPad as a new device and wipe it clean for you. Or on the iPad go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content and Settings and this will erase everything from the iPad.
You can create your own iTunes account on your computer or on the iPad. Read this.

  • How can I restore an app and its data from an old ipad to a new ipad without restoring from backup?

When I purachsed and iPad 2 to replace my old iPad I did not want to restore it from backup for obvious reasons.  However, there are apps that have data stored in them that I have lost the data for, what can I do to get the app and data back on the new iPad without losing the data that was already in the app?

The reasons may be obvious to you, but it makes no sense to me. I would think that you would want all of the content that you had transfered onto your new iPad.
However, there are apps that have data stored in them that I have lost the data for, what can I do to get the app and data back on the new iPad without losing the data that was already in the app?
If you lost the data in the apps, you can't get it back unless you restore from a backup - assuming that the backup DID have that data in the apps..
The only way that you can get the apps PLUS the app data onto the new iPad is to restore the new iPad from a backup of the original iPad and sync the apps back onto the new iPad if necessary.

  • How can I restore FileGlobals in a Client Sequence File that is reloaded?

    Hi,
I'm using TS2.0.1f1 and dynamic client files (search "DynamicClientModel" to see an example) in order to load different test sequences depending on what product should be tested.
    We do something like this,
    newseq = IEngine.GetSequenceFile(...)
    Execution.ClientFile = newseq
    Do testing
    IEngine.ReleaseSequenceFileEx(newseq)
    Goto
The first time a client sequence file is loaded it will copy the default FileGlobals from RunState.ProcessModelClient.Data.FileGlobalDefaults (TS does this automatically).
The problem though is that after calling ReleaseSequenceFileEx() the actual sequence isnt really disposed. Since when we later start over with another prod
uct that uses the same client sequence file the GetSequenceFile() call returns the same copy that was used before and doesnt copy the FileGlobals from RunState.ProcessModelClient.Data.FileGlobalDefaults, there by the second time the same sequence file is used, the FileGlobals dont have there default values.
So, to get back to the subject, how can I make sure that the second time around the FileGlobals have there default values?
(Keep in mind that all this is done within the same execution of the processmodel.)
Ive included a short demonstration of this in the attached zip file.
    Any help appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Hans

    Hi Scott,
Thanks for the answer, I had been thinking about option nr 1 in particular but that would require more changes than I'm prepared to do right now.
I tried option nr 2, but instead of adding that line to the client sequence file I made the copy operation in the process model like this.
    Execution.ClientFile = Locals.ClientSeq
    Locals.ClientFileGlobalsRef = Execution.GetFileGlobals(Locals.ClientSeq)
    Locals.SerializedCopy = ""
    [RunState.ProcessModelClient.Data.FileGlobalDefaults] PropertyObject.Serialize(Locals.SerializedCopy, "Test", 0)
    [Locals.ClientFileGlobalsRef] PropertyObject.Unserialize(Locals.SerializedCopy, "Test", 0)
This seems to do the trick, although option nr 2 does seem a bit like doing things the way they weren't
    supposed to be done.
Regarding option nr 1, are there any Best Practice documents, guides or examples on how one should best manage Engine and Execution lifetimes? Or to put it differently when to spawn new Executions and or Engines during the span of working with several units of the same product type and/or different product types?
    Cheers,
    Hans

  • How can I get more of my persona to show at the top of the display screen?

Before downloading the newest Firefox, my persona at the top of the display screen showed at least 1/2 of the firefox. Now it's only the ears. How do I show more of it? Stupid question, I know, but it's bugging me.

You can add extra empty toolbars if you want to see more of the persona.
You can create extra toolbars to get extra space via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
You have to put something on a toolbar (drag a Space item onto it) before closing the Customize window because empty toolbars are automatically removed.

  • How can i restore my iphone from a back up that is not listed on itunes

I need to restore my iPhone from a backup that is not listed in the itunes backup section. I only did it at 6 pm yesterday. Is there a way to find this backup on my computer and return it to the itunes backup list?

Normally backups are incremental, and you can only restore the latest. EXCEPT that a backup of an earlier version is archived, and the first backup of the new version is thus complete. You should be able to restore a 6.1.4 backup to iOS 7. Click the Restore Backup button. The dialog that comes up should have a dropdown where you can select a backup to restore. If the old one does not show up it cannot be restored.
However, since you appear to have a Mac, if you use Time Machine you can restore an earlier backup over the current one from your Time Machine history.
You can also back up to iCloud, even if you don't sync to it. See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5262
One well hidden feature (for future use) is archiving backups. If you go to iTunes Preferences/Devices, right click on the current backup and choose "Archive". The next backup you make will be a competely new one, and the old one will be preserved and can be restored at any time.
