How Can I set up a JTable columns?

Dear All,
How can I set up my JTable columns to have the amount the user specifies?
for example when the user types in 50 in JTextField 1 I want the JTables columns to then set to 50.
How can this be done?
Thanks

  • How can I set a value of column in SSIS by using Replace

    How can I set a value of a column in SSIS using a Replace in Derive columns. I have here NameCode and I need to Set = 1 Where NameCode like LIKE '____99____'
    eg. 1006993010... if 5th and 6th characters are 99
    Else 0
    Hope to hear from someone soon and I appreciate great help here.

    If NameCode column is integer then you have to cast it correctly to String.
    I am adding that to the expression provided by Rajen.

  • How can I set up a 2 column layout in LiveCycle?

    Hi,
    I'm new to working with LiveCycle Designer. I'm using version 10.4, the OEM version bundled with SAP. Aside from being quite buggy, the capabilities seem pretty similar to LiveCycle Designer ES4, which I downloaded in a trial version. All of which is to say that this is a newbie question.
    I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to set up a 2-column layout.
    On my master page, I have two content areas.
    When I create a new page, I am able to drag fields into the first content area I created, but not into the second content area.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks,
    Janet

    Hi.
    I am not a new LiveCycle Forms designer.  I am using Workbench ES2 (9.0.0.2.20121123.884160).  I have run into a new design problem related to a two column page. The business analytsts have designed the form in Word, where columns work great.  I have tried two subforms within the page. The problem with that is when the right column subform overflows, it overflows to the left column (as the left column has not overflowed), or when the left column overflows (whether or not the right column overflows) the right column begins on the left column's overflowed page.
    I have tried building a page with two side-by-side content areas in the Master Pages, including setting overflow parameters for each subform in the Design View, also with similar problems.
    I have tried using a table with no header and 1 row.  That one is interesting.  When only one cell overflows to another page, it works correctly.  When both columns overflow, the first text box in the subform in each cell is displayed at the top of the page and the remaining content of both cells overflow to the next page, leaving a nearly blank page containing only the one-line text label in each of the two columns.
    Is there some nearly hidden setting I am missing?  Is this possible within LiveCycle Designer Forms?
    Thanks for your attention to this request.

  • How do I set the number of columns for JTextPane

    I only found a method setSize() of JTextPane class. How can I set the number of columns in a JTextPane? Each column can be written one letter.
    Thanks.

    You're not going to use FontMetrics to change the width of the characters; you're going to use it figure out how wide a single character is. Then multiply by the number of characters you want to have in a line, and presto! You know how wide to make your JTextPane.
    Unless I've misunderstood your problem, of course.

  • Query by example - how can I display VCRow in JTable?

    I would like to provide the user with a searchable table.
    Actually I would like to use two tables: one, displaying one row where the user can specify the search criteria. And the second table should display the data found.
    I could store the entered criteria locally in a hashmap in TableModel, for example, then create a WHERE clause. This solution is quite messy, since the user can add, remove and rearrange the columns of both tables.
    Or I could use -I hope- the query-by-example feature, like this:
    am = app.getApplicationModule();
    ViewObject vo = am.createViewObject( "MyVO", "mypackage1.PatView" );
    ViewCriteria vc = vo.createViewCriteria();
    ViewCriteriaRow vcr = vc.createViewCriteriaRow();
    Now I can set attributes and use vo.applyViewCriteria() to find my data.
    But how can I bring the first JTable to display this single ViewCriteriaRow, so that the user can do the editing?
    The JUNavigationBar does it, if I am not mistaken. It switches the PanelBinding to find mode, and then a JTable displays a ViewCriteriaRow (?) instead of the ViewObject's data. But I don't want to use the bar. How do I create this behaviour manually?
    The javadoc of JUPanelBinding says:
    "Sets this panel and all its associated iterators into find mode."
    So I guess that setting iterators into find mode is what I need. But I cannot figure out how to do that. Who can?

    You cannot set the iterators in a panelBinding to separate find/data modes individually.
    However you can create two JUPanelBinding objects one for the findMode form and one that displays Data.
    here's what I did to modify a generated SingleForm, to display two panels of the same type one in find mode and other in data mode.
    I changed the jbInit method of the "LayoutPanel" class to be like:
    //declare this as a member of the class.
    JButton findBtn;
    public void jbInit() throws Exception
    // Panel layout
    masterViewPanel = new PanelDeptView(panelBinding);
    //create another instance of PanelBinding for a second (findform) DeptView panel.
    JUPanelBinding binding = new JUPanelBinding("Project3.Mypackage1Module", this);
    binding.setApplication(panelBinding.getApplication());
    masterViewPanel1 = new PanelDeptView(binding); //create second instance
    findBtn = masterViewPanel1.navBar.getButton(JUNavigationBar.BUTTON_FIND);
    findBtn.doClick(); //set the second instance in find mode.
    //add a listener on the second instance's execute button so that it resets the form into find mode
    //this forces the second instance to be in find mode when execute button is pressed.
    masterViewPanel1.navBar.getButton(JUNavigationBar.BUTTON_EXECUTE).addActionListener(new ActionListener()
    public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent ev)
    SwingUtilities.invokeLater(new Runnable() {
    public void run()
    findBtn.doClick();
    this.setLayout(panelLayout);
    add(masterViewPanel, BorderLayout.WEST);
    //add the second instance.
    add(masterViewPanel1, BorderLayout.EAST);
    I also had to call findBtn.doClick() again in the "constructor" that takes (JUApplication, boolean) after the panelBinding is executed,
    to force the initial startup of this panel in findmode

  • Setting size of JTable columns

    Hi everybody,
    Can anyone help me ?
    How can I set a column widths of a JTable, but also allow the user to resize them ?
    I tried with a code like
    TableColumnModel tableColumnModel = table.getColumnModel();
    for (int i=0; i < columnsSizes.length; i++) {
       if (columnsSizes[i] > 0) {
            tableColumnModel.getColumn(i).setPreferredWidth(preferedSizeArray);
    But it doesn't work :(
    When i do [ define the minWidth and maxWidth ]
    TableColumnModel tableColumnModel = table.getColumnModel();
    for (int i=0; i < columnsSizes.length; i++) {
        if (columnsSizes[i] > 0) {
            tableColumnModel.getColumn(i).setMinWidth(preferedSizeArray);
    tableColumnModel.getColumn(i).setMaxWidth(preferedSizeArray[i]);
    Columns's sizes are exactly what i want but ... the colums are no more resizable.
    So,
    if anyone can help me and tell me how can i set a predefined size for some colums and also allow the user to resize them ... that would be kind from him.

    Folks,
    I have created a report in WebI and now I am to set up some filters as Null and some Not Null.
    How can I set my WebI filters to Null and not Null?
    Regards,
    Bashir Awan

    Hi,
    As you said you could do it at the report level and also at the universe level.
    One more way is to create the filters in the universe levele and add them in thequery filter.
    Ex: in the filter you need to write :
    Column1 is null and and column 2 is not null etc.
    Hope this will help.
    If this did't  solve your problem then please explain it in detail.
    Cheers,

  • How can i set a layout for MIGO screen

    Hello all,
    How can i set a layout for MIGO screen. & make that layout default. Like i want to drag Requistioner column next to quantity in MIgo screen. temporarily I can drag but is there a way to save as layout & save it.

    Hi
    First you arrange however you want and then go to table settings which is there in the right corner of the item details and create a variant and save.
    Find a button with blue yellow and white at the top end above the vertical drag bar when put the cursor it will show you as Configuration.
    After creating the variant tick the check box use as standard setting below the variant
    Hope it helps

    The below is regarding skinning of af:tree table component.
    How can we set icon to a tree table
    Below is the af:tree component. When I run the application I see all the parent and child nodes as folder icon. My question is how can set a file icon to the elements present inside a parent node.

  • Using the States Example how can I set Selected to Maryland Without RowNumber

    Let's use the states example for the sake of everyone having
    the code in front of them. If I am returning a value from the
    database that I am writting out to the application like this
    <%out.write("STATE_NAME"); %>
    how can I set the selected value to that without knowing what
    the row number is, here is my try but I get a few error messages:
    <option spry:if="{name} == '<%out.write("STATE_NAME");
    %>'" value="{name}" selected
    ="selected">{name}</option>
    <option spry:if="{name} != '<%out.write("STATE_NAME");
    %>'" value="{name}" >{name}</option>
    I get double the states and the following in the debug box:
    Caught exception in Spry.Data.Region.prototype.processTokens
    while evaluating: Alabama == Exception:[object Error]
    Caught exception in Spry.Data.Region.prototype.processTokens
    while evaluating: Alabama != '' Exception:[object Error]
    This goes on for as many records as I have in the DB,
    Please let me know how it could be done if it could be done?

    I believe what you guys are looking for is the
    Set
    Default Row Based on Specific Column sample that is on the
    Spry
    Samples Page.
    The problem of using a spry:if="{name} ..." approach is that
    it only makes sure the form select widget is set to what the server
    thinks is the current row in the data set, but it doesn't actually
    set the current row in the data set to reflect this, so the cities
    select is out of sync cause it is defaulting to displaying the
    cities for the first row in the states data set.
    Checkout the sample I mentioned above, it will show you how
    to set up an observer where you can query for the correct row
    immediately after the data is loaded, and then set the current row
    so that everything is as expected.

  • How can I set PCTUSED and PCTFREE in Warehouse databases?

    Hi,
    There are many Schemas in our database and some are used for OLTP and some others are used for Warehouse. Also our tablespaces are Local Managed.
    Could you help me please how can I set PCTUSED and PCTFREE for Warehouses and OLTP.
    What are your suggestions? What should be optimum?
    DB version is 9.2.0.8.
    thanks & regards

    If you are using locally managed tablespaces with ASSM then the pctused parameter would no longer apply. In all cases dictionary vs locally managed with or without ASSM you should set pctfree based on how much of the data row column values are present at initial row insertion and how likely any column is upated to a larger size after initial row insertion.
    In a warehouse I would expect most of the tables to have 100% of the row data present at initial insert and for the data to never be updated. For tables meeting this requirement a pctfree of 3 - 5% would likely be a good choice. I never like to use 0% since the day may come when you add another column to the table.
    With OLTP tables the ideal pctfree value varies more from table to table. Most table so seem to work well enought with the default 10% but I have seen tables that need 50% pctfree to prevent row migration since only the key column values existed at initial insert and most all the other column data was added later.
    Where ASSM is not in use I like to set pctused to 95 - pctfree. Over the last 15 years I am not sure I ever found a need to change the pctused from this once set. I have set a lot of tables up over the years from the old default of 40% to use 60% and 80% before resetting everything during a server platform migration as I mentioned above.
