I am working on a project with labVIEW, In the programme I made, there is an Case structure. And there are several subvI, each subvi
belongs to one case.My question is when I process the data I a certain subvI, how can I wrtie this file(an array) to another subvi and
show the file name in a listbox?

I deleted my account as it was showing up with an old Id ( I'd changed my email) but now I've done that it won't give me the option of logging back on. Do I have to do this on another device Or computer linked to iTunes first?

My JDBC program basically needs two command line args. Rabge_Start_Dt and Range_End_Dt. for ex:
2001-05-31 and 2001-06-01 . And my porgram should run every day. Next day the date range will be 2001-06-01 to some date. It means I have to store some how the range_end_dt and pass it as range_start_dt when my program runs the next day.
Problem:
How can I store the Data variable and pass it as an argument to my porgram when It runs next time. Every time my pogram runs It should pick the range start_dt (==range_end_dt of the previuos run) and end_dt I have to go and query some other data base and pass that value to it.

save the value in a file, then read it back in each day. Similar to when a process needs a PID.

How do I Initialize a button to be enabled when the program start and if pressed then disable and gray it until a certain action is taken then comeback to the enabled state?

I'm doing a program with the following buttons: Run, Abort, Repeat and Exit. When the program starts from the first time only Run and Exit button will be enabled and not disabled so the user doesn't press the Abort and Repeat button. The user has to select from a menu bar the test he wants to make then if he presses the Run button a pop up window will come up asking for the serial number and his name, and will comeback to the main program with the entered information. The user now has to press the Run button again to start the test, when the test starts the Abort button now will be enable
d and not disabled, when the test ends the Repeat button will be enabled and disabled. If the user selects new test from the menu bar the whole process will come again. I'm having problems with the menu bar because it has a time-out and when that occurs the program gets crazy. Also I'm not sure about what mechanical action I have to use for the Run. Do I need to count the times the Run button is press so the 2nd time is pressed it will be disabled. Do I need to use a sequential and where I initialize the buttons so the first time they are like I want (Inside or OUtside the while loop that ends with the Exit button) Any help wil be appreciated.

I'm not sure about the menu bar because i've never used them..i tend to go for listboxes instead.
As for the buttons, if you want to wire the button to a local variable then the button must be a switch, otherwise a latch is ok. But remember you will probably need to reset the button at the end of a run (ie. wire a constant through the while loop to the local variable for the switch). To initialize the buttons at the start, wire constants to their locals outside the main execution while loop.
Put the disabling/enabling functions in the parts of the program the button has activated. For example, you say the 2nd time the Run button is pressed you run the 'test', enable the Abort button and want to disable the Run button - put these property nodes into th
e 'test' sequence/loop.
Sequences are useful to control when you want buttons to be modified. I use them if i cant sequence the order of execution any other way. But try and avoid using multiple frames as it can get confusing if you start hiding code.
If you are still having problems, post an example of your program in no higher than LV 6.0.2 and i will try and adapt it for you.

How can I write this string to a file as the ASCII representation in Hex format?

I need to convert a number ( say 16000 ) to Hex string ( say 803E = 16,000) and send it using Visa Serial with the string control in Hex Mode. I have no problem with the conversion (see attached). My full command in the hex display must read AA00 2380 3E...
I can easily get the string together when in Normal mode to read AA0023803E... but how can I get this to hex mode without converting? (i.e. 4141 3030 3233 3830 3345 3030 3030 3031 )

Sorry, The little endian option was probably introduced in 8.0 (?).
In this special case it's simple, just reverse the string before concatenating with the rest.
It should be in the string palette, probably under "additional string functions".
(note that this only works in this special case flattening a single number as we do here. If the stat structure is more complex (array, cluster, etc.) you would need to do a bit more work.
Actually, you might just use typecast as follows. Same difference.
I only used the flatten operation because of the little endian option in my version.

How can I share my ical with other users on the same machine?

Having recently bought an imac I set up accounts for the family. I'd like to share a generic calendar with everyone that only the adults can read/write, but want to allow everyone to hold their personal calendars at the same time. All the accounts are on the same machine. Can this be done? If so how?

You can only do this by syncing your calendar to an external server - MobileMe is designed for this but if you don't already have a MobileMe account you can't start one now.
If you do have a MobileMe account the method is described here:

If you don't, you could sync to Google Calendar (Google accounts are free) or wait for iCloud which should be out in a couple of months and will probably provide this sort of facility.
You might like to consider BusyCal which is like iCal Pro - similar to iCal but with extra facilities. It can sync calendars on a Lan and also between accounts on the same machine (you have to have fast user switching enabled).
There is a free trial available on their website: it's slightly cheaper from the Mac App Store. (I have no connection with this company).

How can I duplicate a control in a subVI using the reference?

Here's what I want to do. I have a tree control in my main application. I add and delete items dynamically based on user input. If I pass my tree reference to a subVI, I can add, subtract and reorder the items in the tree and the changes are shown on the main tree. How can I duplicate the tree in the subVI? Would I simply pass the tree control in (which I'd rather not do) or is there some other way to accomplish this?

Here's my attempt. This VI uses a control reference of the old tree and generates a data structure that can be used by the "Edit Tree Items.Add Multiple Items to End" method to add contents to the new tree that should be identical to the contents of the original tree. Note that this VI only works with LabVIEW 8.0 and later, since the afore-mentioned method is not available in previous versions.
I hope this helps...also note that I saw some re-draw issues with LabVIEW 8.0, i.e. after the VI ran, I didn't see the tree displayed properly until I minimized/restored the window, or dragged another window over it. I did not see the redraw issues in LabVIEW 8.2.

How can I save an email message as a plain text document if the saved as command is greyed out? I am using OSX Mountain Lion. Macbook Pro thanks.

OK, but is it happening to you with all messages or just some messages? If just some, can you characterize which ones? (Maybe messages with only one "alternative*" form, or with the "wrong" alternative for displayed, or messages containng images but no text?)
* By "alternative" form, I mean in the sense of Mail > View > Message > Previous Alternative or Next Alternative or Plain Text Alternaive or Best Alternative.)

How can I set the caption text of picture controls inside an array or how can I choose which array element is assigned using the array elements caption text property.

I have 8 picture controls inside an array and I would like to set the caption text of these controls.
I have used the property node of the array and used the array elements property caption text to set the text.
The problem is however that I set the same text to all the picture controls inside the array.
My question is how to set caption text of specific elements (Picture control) that I have so far only been able to access using the array elements caption text property.

1 You could use the caption of the array and place it in front of the selected picture and update that using property nodes.
2 Like Norbett said if you use a cluster of pictures then their caption can be updated individually.

How can I change a string to a numeric when the numbers are separated by blank spaces?

I would like to change a list of numbers in string to a list of number in numeric like in the attached vi. Unfortunately, the numbers are not separated by commas but by blank spaces. Which character can I use for the blank space?

Why don't you just use the Spreadsheet String to Array function instead. You can specify any delimiter you want. See the attached picture.

How can you automatically disable data on a phone when the user hits the limit?

One Verizon phone rep said she would take care of it for me. Obviously that didn't happen so Verizon robbed me of $50 in overage fees.
Next Verizon store rep told me to go online and do it. Still haven't figured it out. So, anyone know the answer?

How can I update an iPad to IOS 7 when the .ipsw is already in the software updates folder?

I have already upgraded one iPad to IOS7 from iTunes. The .ipsw file is still in my ~/Library/iTunes/iPad Software Updates folder. Why, when I attempt to upgrade a second iPad, does iTunes want to start downloading it yet again? It's already there. Brain damage in iTunes? I have to limit my download activity due to my ISP (can't get another one yet).
