How can I write to data file only near to SW Trigger samples?

Hi everyone
I am working on a model based in this one:
http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/34#0requirements
I would like to save the data once the trigger is reached, with some data near to the impact.
Where should I place a "write to measurement file" block in order to may load and plot the data of an impact test?
Regards.

Celuti,
You are so close!
I am glad to see you understood what I recommended!
You need to ensure that you connect the same data type to the Queue as what is coming from the DAQ.
Please see the modified version of the code you posted.

how can i write the data to PIC16F819 using labview?
    Need help!
im using labview in gathering the datas that i need to right to the PIC, then after getting all the datas i am using another program which is ICD2 in order to write it to the PIC. Is it possible to do this task through LV? coz we are spending a lot of time transferring the data from LV to ICD2 manually and its prone to mistake as well.
    any suggestion?

LabVIEW does not currently have a built-in method to communicate with
i2c, but there are other vendors that sell devices to communicate in
this manner with LabVIEW development kits.  One that I know of is
from MCC... here is a link:  http://www.mcc-us.com
They sell a device called iPort, and then you can buy LabVIEW VIs to go with it.  I hope this is helpful to you!

  • How can i copy my data files from a windows backup to mac mini

I recently purchased a mac mini and waiting on its arrival.  I am converting from WinXP and my current system is not working at the moment (started smelling smoke one day and the video hasn't displayed since from the PC - so its been shut down).  I can easily fix whatever the issue is with the PC - however - my question is.  I perform periodic backup of my data files to an external drive with Windows Backup, can I restore my files from the Windows Backup to the Mac Mini?  If I don't have to fix the PC - I can save that cost and buy an CD drive for the Mini (or something else).
I haven't investigated the real problem on the PC - I just know its hardware related (not OS).
My last backup was atleast 1 month ago - so I know I might lose a couple of things....but not very much.  If its "simplier" for the migration process to fix the PC - then that is the answer but if I can extract from the external 1TB Seagate.  I think I only have 50GB of data (itunes / pictures / etc)
    Thanks

  • How can I write waveform data from a while loop?

Alright, I have a NI-5122 high speed digitizer that I need to acquire 10,000 waveforms. I am currently using the NI example code "niScope EX Multi Record Fetch More Than Available Memory.vi" to do this and then onto that later. I set the Number of Records to 10,000, min record length to 8192, and the min sample rate to 100M (S/s). On the Fetch vi,  I set it to get a 1D Dbl array and then send it to the while loop edge for auto indexing. What I want is to take each waveform and write it to a file next to the previous waveform not append it to the bottom of the previous one. I can do 100 and sometimes 1000 waveforms with my current setup and then use "write measurement to file.vi" to save the data, but at 10,000 it says that the memory is full. I have 256 MB on the NI-5122 and 4G of memory on my host computer. My reasoning is that if the NI-5122 can hold all that data then why can't my host computer. I have tried to fetch using 2D Dbl and transpose that matrix and send the data to "write measurement to file.vi" inside the loop and append the data that way, but when I do this the card does not acquire any data. Which seems like a software problem. I know this is probabaly worded poorly, so just post a response if further explanation is needed.
    Thank you.

    Hello,
It sound like you might have received a LabVIEW: Memory is full message.  Are you also graphing this data as it is being acquired?  Are you building an array inside the loop?  At the 100 MS/s rate, you are using a lot of memory to acquire, graph, build and transpose array data, and then write to file.  If you are saving to file and do not necessary need to see the data, I would suggest taking the graphical indicator out of the code.  Please review some of the KnowledgeBases linked below about the LabVIEW: Memory is full.

  • How can I write to a file from a livecycle designed PDF?

I am producing a PDF in Livecycle designer and would like to write a sub-set of data from the document.
I have tried methods such as exportData() but this exports everything which i don't need.
I have seen another method which is to attach a file and write to that but ideally I'd just like to be able to create a new file.
    var data = xfa.data.nodes.item(0).nodes.item(1).saveXML()  var oFile = util.streamFromString(data , "utf-8");
I would like to write oFile.
    Thanks in advance
    Edit:
I would like to add that ideally the user would be presented with a save as dialog  box, so the can choose the location of where to save the xml data.

when an oracle istance is created the services that support it are setup to 'log on as' the system (or operating system) account, this account has very few privileges and no acces to Window NT Domains. To access another Windows NT machine the OracleServiceXXXX must be setup to logon to the appropriate Windows NT Domain as a user who has acces to the required location for UTL_FILE.
To change the default logon for the Oracle services go to (in Windows NT):
Control Panel | Services | OracleServiceXXXX | startup | log on as; (where XXXX is the instance name)
In Windows 2000, this would be:
Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Services | OracleServiceXXX | Properties | Log on tab; (again XXXX is the instance name)
Choose the This Account radio button, and then complete the appropriate domain login information. ONce the services have been setup as a user with the appropriate privileges, ther are two options dfor setting UTL_FILE_DIR:
    * Mapped Dirve: To use a mapped drive, the user that the service starts as must have setup a drive to match UTL_FILE_DIR and be logged onto the server when UTL_FILE is in use.
    * Universal Naming Convention: UNC is preferable to Mapped Drives because it does not require anyone to be logged on and utl_file_dir should be set to a name in the form \\<machine name>\<share name>\<path>
You will of course need to stop and restart Oracle after changing the properties of the service.

  • How can i convert a data file to mp3 so it can be played ?

HOW CAN I CONVERT DATA FILE TO MP3

You cant change a file on a CD/DVD.
You need to import the contents to iTunes. You can choose the file format to save it as in iTunes Preferences.
From the menu bar (with iTunes open)
iTunes > Preferences > General - click the Import Settings button and change the choice to mp3 encoder.
(Note - that instruction is for iTunes 9.1.1 - if it's changed in 10.x, I trust Klaus or one of the others will correct me).
When you've set the import encoding, put your CD in and select import (button at bottom right in 9.1, may be in the menu bar for 10.x).

  • How can I write waveform data to a txt file or an excel sheet?

I want have a table that I can follow up in excel. In first column should be the timestamp (in ms or better in us), in the second column should be the value. I made an effort but it doesn´t work.
    Attachments:
    PWMReadWrite.vi ‏167 KB

Yes, you must change block (Get Date/Time String.vi).
You must write new subVI - this new VI convert date and time to the second [or ms or us].
First choice is: time column will be count of second [the better ms or best us] since 12:00 a.m., January 1, 1904, Universal time[function "Get Date/Time In Seconds.vi"].
    Text file:
    3216546154,000 0.000000
    3216546154,050 0.062791
    3216546154,100 0.125333
Second choice is: first record in TXT file will be time when test start and after will be table with time [ms or us] and value.
    Text file:
Start time: Monday 30-th February 2005.
    0,000 0.000000
    0,050 0.062791
    0,100 0.125333
    Have a nice day.
    JCC
P.S.: I recommend you creat header of result table to text file.
    Text file:
    time [ms] U [V]
    3216546154,000 0.000000
    3216546154,050 0.062791
    3216546154,100 0.125333

  • How can I create a data file?

I'm back. I found the CFA & PEF files and I am getting ready to go to work and delete all these on all my drives.
What I need to know now is how to create a data only file on a DVD for back up.  I have successfully burnt a DVD in Encore, but I do not want to use that as a back up
I feel like it would be degraded somewhat. Besides it is an Encore file.
What I want is a Premiere file from CS4. This way I can always go back to it and make any changes or edits in the original time-line.
If I can do this I was planning on using a DVD-RW so I could make changes later on.
I also want to make a transfer DVD to install my projects on another computer. This will be a Video only computer with no internet connection to mess with my OS and slow things down.
    Thanks Again

For the Projects, the trick will be the Asset files. If they will fit onto DVD DL discs, you're OK. If they are too large (DV-AVI is ~ 13GB per hour), then you'll need some type of backup, or spanning software, that will write files across multiple discs. A better choice, IMO, would be a 1 - 2 TB external, where you can use Project Manager, or just Windows Explorer and Copy, to do the entire Project folder with Assets. I'd recommend against a USB and go at least for FW-400. FW-800 would be better, but you'll need FW-800 connections on your computer. eSATA would be the best, but then you'll need eSATA connectors.
    Good luck,

  • How can I write to text file colorful texts

I save system events in a text file, for example when system give warning message i want to write it red

As others have mentioned, if you want to view text in different colors with an viewer/editor tool outside of LabVIEW, you must provide the necessary formatting for that tool.
If it works for your application to view the file using LabVIEW you can do this:
    1) Place a unique key in each line that identifies an error.
    2) Display the text in a Listbox and color each line based on that unique key.
You can fairly easily provide a stand alone viewer if needed.
This technique can also be expanded to provide multiple colors.

  • How can I Write a sine wave in an Access-file?

I measure a sine wave in LabView 6i. How can I write the datas automatically to an Acces-file, at the same time?
In my program, I managed it with Execute SQL.vi, I change a number in a SQL statement(String) -> after this I push start and then it writes the statement in the Access-file.
The problem is, it writes only one data per measurement in the file. How can I write all datas in the Access-file and measure the wave at the same time?
    Thanks for help!

On the waveform palette, you will find a "to components" vi that you can break out the array of the waveform. You can then, using a for loop write all of the values from the waveform.
Better yet, there are examples in the database toolkit manual on pages 3-13 to 3-15 that deal with reading arrays (and even has a waveform example).
    Good luck!

  • How do I encrypt a data file so that only I can retrieve the info?

How do I encrypt a data file so that it cannot be read without the proper authority?
I have an application where the customer should not have access to the data I need to record for troubleshooting purposes.  (there are industrial secrets I wish to protect)  My plan is to record a datalog (currently I am producing a tab-delimited spreadsheet format) whenever the device is running and hide the files where they will probably not be found.  But some sort of encryption or at least password protection would be better.
I've never tried to do this before, but thought it would be fairly easy.  Maybe I'm just not looking in the right places.
    Thanks

Well, you could look into something like DES, Triple DES, AES, etc.  There are libries floating around for these written in LabVIEW.  I'm not sure about the cost though.
If you want a really simple way to protect your data, just invert all or some of the bits in each byte of your file.  It is super simple and turns a nice ASCII text file into noise when read from a text file.

  • How can I read a binary file stream with many data type, as with AcqKnowledge physio binary data file?

I would like to read in and write physiological data files which were saved by BioPacs AcqKnowledge 3.8.1 software, in conjunction with their MP150 acquisition system. To start with, Id like to write a converter from different physiodata file format into the AcqKnowledge binary file format for version 3.5 3.7 (including 3.7.3). It will allow us to read different file format into an analysis package which can only read in file written by AcqKnowledge version 3.5 3.7 (including 3.7.3).
I attempted to write a reader following the Application Note AS156 entitled AcqKnowledge File Format for PC with Windows (see http://biopac.com/AppNotes/ app156Fi
leFormat/FileFormat.htm ). Note the link for the Mac File format is very instructive too - it is presented in a different style and might make sense to some people with C library like look (http://biopac.com/AppNotes/ app155macffmt/macff.htm).
I guess the problem I had was that I could not manage to read all the different byte data stream with File.vi. This is easy in C but I did not get very far in LabView 7.0. Also, I was a little unsure which LabView data types correspond to int, char , short, long, double, byte, RGB and Rect. And, since it is for PC I am also assuming the data to be written as little endian integer, and thus I also used byte swap vi.
Two samples *.acq binary files are attach to this post to the list. Demo.acq is for version 3.7-3.7.2, while SCR_EKGtest1b.acq was recorded and saved with AcqKnowledge 3.8.1, which version number is 41.
I would be grateful if you someone could explain how to handle such binary file stream with LabView and send an example to i
    llustrate it.
Many thanks in advance for your help.

The reading of double is also straight forward : just use a dble float wired to the type cast node, after inverting the string (indian conversion).
    See the attached example.
The measure of skin thickness is based on OCT (optical coherent tomography = interferometry) : an optical fiber system send and received light emitted to/back from the skin at a few centimeter distance. A profile of skin structure is then computed from the optical signal.

How can I restore my data from iCal? I didn't make any backup, but I use  time machine with an external HD. I deleted iCal when I deleted my gmail account. I have tried to restore, but I can only restore the iCal software and not the data.

    So what is your question?
If you forgot your encryption password:
Warning: Make sure it's a password you will remember or write it down for safekeeping. If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and forget your password, you can't restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable.
If you can't remember the password and want to start again, you must perform a full software restore and chooseset up as a new device when iTunes prompts you to select the backup from which to restore.
