  • Problem auto-creating tables with the IBFBS sample

    Hello,
I'm fairly new to JDeveloper and OC4J and am trying to configure the new Financial Brokerage Service (IBFBS) sample to run on my system. I followed all of the setup instructions but have had problems getting the application to work. I've worked through a few issues, but I'm stuck on this one. When deploying/running the application to the JDev embedded OC4J an error occurs when trying to auto-create the tables for some of the EJBs. The error messages are all similar to this:
"Auto-creating table: create table UserAccount_file:_M:_Ja_rfpkl9 (accountNumber NUMBER not null primary key, password VARCHAR2(255) null, firstName VARCHAR2(255) null, lastName VARCHAR2(255) null, organization VARCHAR2(255) null, address VARCHAR2(255) null, city VARCHAR2(255) null, state VARCHAR2(255) null, country VARCHAR2(255) null, phone VARCHAR2(255) null, accountBalance FLOAT null, email VARCHAR2(255) null, userType VARCHAR2(255) null, linesPerPage NUMBER null, alertMode VARCHAR2(255) null, mobileEmail VARCHAR2(255) null)
Error creating table: ORA-00922: missing or invalid option"
The app fails to start with an Ora message "Table or view does not exist"
I think it's due to the colons in the table name, but how do I change the name of the table it's trying to create?
I'm running JDeveloper 9.0.3 preview and 9.2.0.1.0 (patchset 1 applied) database all locally on a Windows XP SP1 machine.
    Any help appreciated.

    Hi Nick,
Firstly, regret for the late response.
I guess what you are trying to do is run the Sample from JDeveloper itself. But this cannot be done, you have to deploy the
sample to the embedded OC4J(<JDEV_HOME>/j2ee/home) bundled with JDev and run the sample from embedded OC4J.
Refer to http://otn.oracle.com/sample_code/tutorials/fbs/over/setup.htm and follow the steps to deploy to OC4J.
Curious to know if you were able to run it.
    Regards
    Elango.

  • How can i create table between different servers schema

    Hi,
Can any advice me how I can create table on remote oracle schema.
    Thanks in advance
    Faheem Latif

I am telling you what I know about remote table creation - it is impossible in Oracle, if you trust the documentation of course.
ORA-02021: DDL operations are not allowed on a remote database
Cause:     An attempt was made to use a DDL operation on a remote database. For example, "CREATE TABLE tablename@remotedbname ...".
Action:     To alter the remote database structure, you must connect to the remote database with the appropriate privileges.

  • Auto Create Table problem in Jdev903

    Hi,
I am writing EJB application and used CMR. To develop this application I am using JDeveloper(Oracle 9i-OC4J).When I run this application, it metically creates CMR tables. But I don't want to that JDeveloper should create auto table, for that I have configured in
    application.xml <orion-application autocreate-tables="false" ...>.
still now it creates auto table and generates identifire is to long error.
I don't want to auto create table, I want to cofigure that it uses our databse tables. so give any solution what will be configuration, as soon as possible.
is it supported by Oracle9i OC4J Jdev903 Conatiner Managed Relatioship or not

Also, create the user in the "Users" tablespace. You want to
keep your System tablespace clear of non-system created items.
After connecting as system/manager, enter the following:
    Create user username
    identified by password
    default tablespace users
    temporary tablespace temp;
    grant create session, resource to username;

  • Auto-creating tables with CMP Explicit Mapping

    Hello.
I am trying to migrate a working CMP EJB Jar from Weblogic to OC4J, using the admin.jar deploy utility. I believe my orion-ejb-jar.xml deployment descriptor (shown at the bottom) is set up properly, but OC4J attempts to auto-create tables for my entity beans anyway. (see messages that follow).
Can anybody tell me why it tries to create these tables? Is something missing from my deployment descriptor?

    Hi David,
The "autocreate-tables" attribute is defined in the DTD for the "orion-application.xml" file. This file is usually generated automatically by OC4J, from your application's "application.xml" file when you deploy your application. (Note that subsequent [re-]deployments of your application will not change the "orion-application.xml" file.)
The default value for this attribute is 'true', and the default is defined in the "application.xml" file that is located in the "j2ee/home/config" subdirectory of the OC4J installation.
    Hope this answers your question.
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

  • How to auto create a global variable with specific variable name in a global vi ?

how to auto create a global variable with specific variable name in a global vi using lv ? Because i need to add a lot of global variable in this global vi. But you know, if  i manually add them , it will be a much time-costing work. So i want to use someway to auto generate ? Can i ?? Thanks a lot !

    Hi
what aartjan is saying is the way for you. but you can develop an utility which will actually help you create global variables. To get the details on this just have a look at VI Scripting section on LAVA forum.
But i would like you to suggest few things
    1. If your programs have so many global variables (Thats why u want utility) then you should take out some time to read about LabVIEW design patterns. I think if programmer follows these practicess he dont need a single global variable.
    2. Their are some other ways to achieve similar functionality as of global variables (Uninitialized Shift Registers, Single Element Qs and so on) but they are much faster than global variables.
I am Attaching Whatever Resources i am having I will also attach the template of the design pattern i generaly use in short duration

  • How can i create table which in use

    Dear all,
How can i create a index on table which have much dml any time?

    In 10g :
The CREATE ONLINE waits for existing transactions to commit before it can proceed. Once it starts, it uses a log table (MV Log) to track subsequent changes (i.e. it allows concurrent DML once it has started). At the end of the operation, it encounters another wait if there are existing transactions as it has to sync changes from the MV Log to the index.
Here's an explanation by Jonathan Lewis : Re: Alter Index Rebuild Online
    In 11g :
There's an improvement in that only the transactions that were active at the instant when the CREATE .. ONLINE was issued are the ones it waits for. It does not have to wait on subsequent transactions.
Here's an explanation by Richard Foote : http://richardfoote.wordpress.com/2008/02/11/index-create-and-rebuild-locking-improvements-in-11g-ch-ch-ch-changes/

  • IDCS6 - How do I create tables with large whole numbers and small fractions?

I have a lot of engineering data, dimensions, etc, to enter into an existing IDCS6 Table. I need whole numbers to display full size, but fractions to be small size. I know I can use Open Type and select the Fractions option for each individual fraction, but that would take forever and give me a roaring headache.
How do I create a style (or whatever) that will allow me to just type in the numbers and have them automatically apply small formatting to the fraction portion of the number whenever it sees a "/"?
Along a similar line, I was trying to copy table data from a PDF document from Acrobat X Pro and paste that into an IDCS6 table, so each cell is populated by the appropriate cell data from the PDF file, but didn't have any success. That would really save me a lot of time, because I have many complete tables in PDF format. The data is not protected in the PDF, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to bring it over to IDCS6.
    On a Mac, OSX 10.8.5.
    Thanks,
    Lou

There are a number of ways to do it, but I make fractions using Dan Rodney's excellent (and free) Proper Fraction script. After it's installed; assign it a keyboard shortcut. Then type your numerator/denominator, select it, and invoke the script. With just a couple keystrokes, you've got a perfectly formatted fraction.
As for the PDF tables, I'd try exporting the host file to RTF and copy/pasting from there. In case you're unaware, to paste values into InDesign table cells, the number of (pre-existing), cells/rows/columns in InDesign must match those copied (from) exactly, and must be pre-selected when the Paste command is executed. So...
    1. Set up empty destination table in InDesign which matches the source structure.
    2. Select source cells and Copy.
    3. In Indesign, select exact same (x, y, qty), range of destination cells and Paste.

  • How do you create table/datagrid programmatically?

I'm ASP.NET developer and I'm writing my first application in JDeveloper & ADF and I'm having problem thinking through the solution.
I'm building two JSF pages. First page will display 3 or more input text (text1, text2, text3...) and a ADF read-only table that displays list of records that contain 3 or more fields (field1, field2, field3...). Each input text on the form is related to corresponding fields (i.e. text1 goes with field 1 and so on) in the table. User will enter values in the input text boxes and select a row in the table and click next which will take the user to the second page.
In the second page I need to take the selected row from table and corresponding input text and create another ADF readonly table (or something that looks lke table or grid). But this table needs to show in each field in the row as:
    - Name of Field 1 from the table on First page.
    - Value of Field 1 from the table on First page.
    - User inputted text 1 value from First page.
    - Checkbox that user can select to indicate if they want to use Field 1 or User entered text value
I need to create a row for each field in the table on first page. How do you do this in JDeveloper & ADF? I'm in real hurry for this solution so if anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
this is not necessarily an ADF question but a basic JSF how-to question. ADF Faces provides you with JSF components, like RichInputText, RichTable, which are the runtime objects that make a table or a input text field. The table has one to many child components of type RichColumn, which you can either create at design time, if your table wasn't created dynamically, or in Java at runtime (using a managed bean associated with the page).
You also need to keep the values of the previous page and pass them on to the next. One option is to use attributes in a shared memory scope. For example, you could create a HashMap in session scope and add the input values from the input text fields and the selected row values (as a list or collection). Then when building the table on the scond page, you could get this back and dynamically populate the table.
However, you better search for a JSF tutorial that deals with such dynamic component creation and then get back to ADF Faces. As said, the question is not ADF specific but a request for a general JSF tutorial that we don't provide
