How come iMessage can't connect to my Gmail-account? I don't receive the latest chat history and I don't receive texts on my computer at the same time as my phone as I previously did.

As the topic says. I used to being able to use my iMessage the same way as on my phone. I used to receive my messages on the computer aswell as on the phone but since I changed my password for both the Gmail and the Apple-ID accounts it just doesn't work. I nolonger receive messages on my computer. Im not able to set my status to "Available" and if I try to change which account is linked to the iMessage it said that I filled in the wrong Google-talk password.
I wasn't even aware of me using google-talk while messaging?!
The first time I used iMessage I just logged in using my apple-ID. It automatically seems to have used the Gmail-account and it worked fine until now. Please help me if able to.

Try rebooting the router. Whether or not it is working with other devices does not matter.

How come nobody can log in to a user account?

10.6 Server functioning well in all configured aspects. Did a software update. I don't think it was an important one, perhaps Safari and iTunes which I did just because I always do all the updates. Then, I used Disk Utility to repair permissions. Again, just because some say that you should, and it has never caused me any problems.
Instant disaster! Now nobody can log in to a user account to access any network home folders. All users can log in and access the Wiki service as normal. And I can log in via ARD and use Server Admin and Workgroup Manager. But no luck with users accessing the homes.
I suspect inappropriate permissions at or near the top of my Users directory, but I am not sure. First of all, what may have happened, and then how can I solve this problem???

I have no idea what may have happened (surely nothing SHOULD have), and I'm pretty much a novice (especially with NetBoot), but did you check in...
- Workgroup Manager: User/'Basic' tab/"User can" access account
- Server Admin: NetBoot (and NFS or Web) is running
To check permissions 'at or near the top of the Users directory', use ServerAdmin/AFP/Sharepoints/Browse then click on the permissions tab and double-click the user/group name. Or select the user/group and click the gear icon below for more ways to cause trouble!

How come I can't connect to my website control panel or website email from the iPad? I keep inserting user and pass and it keeps deleting them without connecting. I tried this on both my websites.

I haven't managed to go to my website's administration panel since I bought my iPad. Neither of my websites nor the website's email. Otherwise it works fine. Is there something wrong with the sttings? The only thing I can think of is Java and it's on.

That's not possible as iOS doesn't support Java. If your websites require Java to login, you're not going to be able to do it from the iPad.

Hello. The output of the express is a 3.5mm stereo socket (like the headphone socket on an mp3 player) so to attach to a receiver you will need a "3.5mm to 2 RCA Stereo Audio Cable". This socket also doubles as a Mini-TOSLINK jack, you can probably ignore this, however if you know your receiver has a digital input you could use a Optical Mini Jack (OMJ) / TOSLINK cable, to connect digitally.

I have yet to find an email server that does not work with Mail.app. Your solution will be to configure its ports and send/receive protocol according to the email server's requirements.

There are two kinds of content, streaming and downloaded. If your show is a streaming show you have to be on the internet to view it. (akin to you not being able to watch youtube videos without being on the net)
Downloaded files can be watched anytime (within the constraints of the DRM of course)

Because you can only synce with one iTunes library and you are switching libries by using the new computer. To nake this yyour syncing computer:
- Move all the media(apps, music, synced video and photos etc) to the new computer.
- Connect the iPofd yo the computer and bake a backup fo the iPod by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup.
Note that the backup that iTunes makes doe not include media.

HT2404 I just clicked on Software Updates; BUT nothing shows what's happening? How come I can't see the updates & time it will take?

Help! I just got this Lion, and SO many changes & not necessarily for the better !
I went to the Apple icon, but "Software Updates" did not show ... though I had deferred installing some updates ...
Finally it showed up, I clicked on it, saw the updates to do - BUT when I clicked on install - the "box" that usually shows the updates & how long to install - just disappeared! I can't get to it to see what's next. (I have to leave soon & will turn off the mac)
What's happening? How come I can't see the updates as they are installed, & how much time it will take?
How do I know IF they have been installed? Is this the "new Normal" for Lion? Or is there a glitch in my mac somewhere?
How about updates you download from Apple (not bought) - they go to Downloads on the Sideboard, but are they installed automatically, & put where they belong too? Is there no more restart, etc.?
- I just went to Systems Preference, to see the "Installed Software" - shows they were ... but don't I have to restart anymore? Are all updates now automatically placed where they belong?

If you need to reinstall Mac OS X 10.8.x (there is no 10.8.6 yet, by the way), restart your Mac, hold down the Option key so you see all the bootable partitons, and boot to the Recovery Partition. From there you can reinstall Mountain Lion. You will need a good Internet connection.
