How create User ID in ECC 6 IDES

Hi Guys,
I am new to Portal and want to explore.
Can somebody give the steps to create a User ID in Portal. I have access to SAP IDES ECC6 and in the browser it is asking Userid and Password. I dont have the userid and password.
Can somebody give me the steps to how to create the first userid in Portal.

Hi Mini,
Firstly, you should figure out if you have a ABAP stack , a Java Stack or a dual-stack for Portal.
Initially, in order to get into the portal, you should enter the username and password, which I understand you are not aware of. In this scenario, get in touch with the basis team or whom soever has been responsible for the installation of the NW. Get a hold of atleast the SAP* username and password or the J2EE username and password which they might be aware of.
Other wise, you will have to enable the emergency sap* user in the config tool and then start creating the rest of the users by assigning userself the user admin role or a super admin role.

OIM 11gR2 Add combo box UDF on Create User Form

Hi.
We have created a new UDF on user form. It is a lookup field and has the following lookup associated: "Lookup.Users.Continente"
"Lookup.Users.Continente" has two values, both of them checked as Enabled.
From the form designer all the values are displayed when selecting one default value so it is reading correctly from the lookup.
We published the sandbox after this.
Then we created a new sandbox and tried to add that field to the Create User Page. We went to "Create User Page", customize it and add content from "Data Component - Catalog" -> "userVO" -> Select the UDF, clicked on "Add" and selected "ADF Select One Choice".
A new combobox is added but no values are shown. We have plublished the sandbox, restarted OIM, purged cache, etc... but it still shows an empty combo box. We have also tried adding it as "ADF Input List of values" but it does not add the field to the create user page.
Any ideas of what are we doing wrong?
The idea is very simple, just create a field with the same behaviour as, for example, "User Type" field. A combobox that displays the enabled values from a lookup...
We have also tried creating the UDF cheking the searchable option, searchable picklist and all the possible combinations.

         It is already answered by Erhan
1- There isnt a standart way to create user in portal. You can code a web service to create user using portal apis
         using API's only you can create Application which help to create Users in Portal UME.

2- And also there isnt a standart way to create a poll using ecc tables. But there is a way to create poll in portal.
          SAP had provided a Poll Facility in Portal what Erhan suggested, but problem is you can at a time put only one question in a poll, but if you want some more functionality along with polls, you can go for Sweetlets which is third party tool.
         But if you want to develop a Survey kind of application where you want different type of questions along with different answer options than you have to build application from scratch like how we develop Custom Web Dynpro Java Applications.

Create Substitute Users in SAP ECC 6.0

Can someone guide on how to create a temporary user Substitute User) in SAP ECC 6.0. This is a user who will only use the SAP system for a short period while the substantive user is away on leave such that the system should lock the substitute user automatically when the leave preiod expires.

On the backend you still have the created by and posted by fields for many application documents (all else being the same - which I would not rely on...).

This is often because the user ID is changed (to a service user) when entering the "special mode". How many users/ schemas can we create in an oracle database?

How many users can we create in an oracle database? Or how many users can oracle handle?
Problem-
I have to store information of ontologies (I will use countries instead) in db.
I have to store information regarding countries.
I have 13 tables in all to maintain for each country.
Now there are two approaches:
1) keep only 13 tables. Have an extra column in each table to indicate that a particular
row stores information for which country.
2) create a new user/ schema for each country. So we can get rid of the extra column
needed in 1st approach.
I have used the second approach. This is because number of entries in each table for a
given country will be large.
So initially when the s/w is installed I create a central-user. Each time data for new
country has to be entered central-user creates a user/ schema, and creates tables for
this user/ schema. The central user can access the tables of all the countries by
country_name.table_name. By this approach I believe searching would be easy.
If there is any flaw in my approach kindly mention it.

There is no (practical at least) limit to the number of users & schemas you can have in Oracle.
Your approach, however, is not going to scale nearly as well as the first option you outlined (adding a column). You are going to end up caching every possible variation of the various queries you're going to be executing because you will be referring to so many different tables, which is going to mean that you are doing a lot more work to parsing statements and generally churning through the shared pool. If you create enough users, you're liable to start hitting ORA-04030 errors because your shared pool is so fragmented.
Additionally, you're likely going to end up with a whole lot of dynamically generated SQL to accommodate new schemas getting added over time which is going to cause you even more pain. Figuring out dynamically what table to join in is a heck of a lot more difficult for the programmer to write and for the database to handle than simply passing in a different country code.
If you're concerned about having too much data, you can have your cake and eat it to by adding the country column and partitioning the tables based on country.

One other item I forgot to mention is maintainability. Having dozens or hundreds of "identical" schemas makes maintenance a huge pain because something like adding a new column now requires dozens or hundreds of separate DDL statements. You're almost guaranteed that some schema isn't going to be in sync-- it's going to miss a column or miss an index, etc.

How to change the text "form of address" while Create User in EP6.0??

We are using NDS 2.0.9 & EP6.0.
I have the following doubts:
1) I have to change the text Form of Address which comes when we Create User in EP.
Can any1 please let me know how to change that text? Is there any .par file? What is the name of .par file (if any) which is used to Create User in EP6.0??
2) I am getting the value of this form of address by request.getSalutation() in PDK, but this value is coming in the Welcome Message in the masthead. I tried to change the masthead by changing the corresponding code, but i am getting a runtime error. Is there any other method of making this salutation value NOT appear in the masthead welcome message?

Just delete the first part and always use the second:
return java.text.MessageFormat.format(welcomeClause, new Object[] {firstName, lastName, " "}).toString();
This will delete the salutation without errors

I have to create user credit control via Transaction :
SPRO.
path:
Sales and Distribution->Basic Functions->Credit Management/Risk Management->Credit Management->Define Automatic Credit Control.
I want to check the user checkbox, and create my logic
of credit control.
In the help of credit control screen, it says that i have
to use user exits LVKMPTZZ and LVKMPFZ1.
However when i looked for that user exits at SMOD
that user exit don't exist !!!
How do i use those user exits ? Why can't i find those user exit ?
Can you give me please a code example of how to use
the user checkbox to change the logic of credit control ? or any material about the issue.

You dont find the programs LVKMPTZZ and LVKMPFZ1 in SMOD transaction, check in SE38 by typing the program names, there you have the provision to write your custom code,
As user exits are specific to the business, it would be difficult to send the sample code to cater the functionality expected by your business,
