I need some help. I have the following code that takes a word document, converts it to pdf and saves it to the local temp folder and attaches it to an email. Up until now the filename for the file has been hard coded.
I have now created a userform that allows the user to enter a filename for the document and I have created a global variable for the filename to be stored.
What I want to be able to do is pick up this filename from the global variable and add it to filepath in the code. At the moment it just saves the document as Mytitle which is what the variable is called.
Here is my code, can I please have some help as I am a little lost, this is the first time I have created something so complicated!!

Assuming that you have other code to set the value of Mytitle: change all instances of "c:\temp\Mytitle.pdf" to
"c:\temp\" & Mytitle & ".pdf"

length. Thus, valid statement for Khurram example
is:

But numeric values are implicitly converted by oracle so there's nothing in fact wrong with the statement...

If you are using MSSQL SERVER then try creating a stored procedure like this
create proc Name
select * from Table
by executing this in sql query analyzer will create a stored procedure that returns all the data from Table
here is the syntax to create SP

Now Create new report and create new connection to your database and select stored procedure and add it to the report that shows all the columns and you can place the required fields in the report and refresh the report.

Plotters require continuous paths. Convert the selection to a path and clean it up suitably. Copy&paste it to Illustrator and use it as a clipping mask on your artwork or whatever. You may also need to create a duplicate layer/ separate PDF file file. Talk to the people doing the plotting.

It is extremely important you realise.. the Time Capsule was never designed for this.
It is a backup target for Time Machine.. that is the software on the computer that does backups.. it has no direct connection to the Time Capsule.
It has no ability to back itself up.. unlike all other NAS in the market. It is therefore likely one day you will lose all your files unless you seriously work out how to backup.
The TC is slow to spin up the hard disk and fast to spin down. iTunes and iPhoto will continually lose connection to their respective libraries.
iPhoto in particular is easy to corrupt when you move photos over wireless into the library.. once corrupted all is corrupt. A single photo will ruin it all.. so backup is utterly essential.
Time Machine cannot do backups of network drives. ie the TC. You will need a different backup software like CCC. You will then need another target to backup to..

Well then maybe you could take a screenshot because the appearance of such a window is news to me.

To take a screenshot hold ⌘ Shift 4 to create a selection crosshair. Click and hold while you drag the crosshair over the area you wish to capture and then release the mouse or trackpad. You will hear a "camera shutter" sound. This will deposit a screenshot on your Desktop.
If you can't find it on your Desktop look in your Documents or Downloads folder.
When you post your response, click the "camera" icon above the text field:
This will display a dialog box which enables you to choose the screenshot file (remember it's on your Desktop) and click the Insert Image button.
⌘ Shift 4 and then pressing the space bar captures the frontmost window.
⌘ Shift 3 captures the entire screen.
Drag the screenshot to the Trash after you post your reply.

How can I quit (close) Photoshop and keep all windows so that the next time I open Photoshop all the files that I had open are there already in the same position as when I closed Photoshop?
I've been a Fireworks user for over 10 years and just switched to Photoshop. I cannot find a setting that will enable all my file windows to reopen when I quit Photoshop. This is really a problem since I often work on several files at the same time.
Please let me know if the feature exists or point me to where I can post a message for a new feature to be implemented. The feature is a must for any designer working on large projects.

There is no such functionality. You could perhaps create a script that stores that info in a custom text file and arranges them accordingly in the workspace, but that's as good as it gets...

Referencing Global Variable in Forms DDL (Form Personalization R12)

I'm saving a profile option in a Global variable GLOBAL.FLINV_PROFILE_VALUE when a form opens.
Then I am clearing the variable using Forms DDL and calling FND_PROFILE.SAVE function.
I need to then reset the profile option with a second call to FND_PROFILE.SAVE. I'm trying to use Forms DDL, i.e.

How to set variables that queries can use?(10g)

I am using only ONE TABLE here for all queries. I have one query which pulls out a key and seven other queries that create seven different report sections based on that key. All queries access data in the same table.
The first query ahould set a key so the other seven can use that key to get data. The key changes everytime all seven queries get executed and a report page is displayed, then the queries use the new key until all keys generated by the first query are used.
Questions?
How do I get the seven queries to check that key. Can you have (declare) variables in Reports Builder that you can assign a value in every iteration and then include a check (for that value)in a where clause of other queries? If yes how would I do that?
In a programming language this is simple, you pass the same value as a parameter to several functions... Can you do something similar here and set a value that all queries can check against? Like a local or global variable.

Other pages all look the same. Data from each query is based on the key on the first line and so on.
Example:

Global Variables Vs Form Library Package Variables Vs DB Package Variables

I realise this question has been asked a few times with varying degrees of answers, but I am still seeking comment/advice from others.
I am aware of following options for retaining persistent data to share between forms.
1. Package variables in a library that you share in a session.
This requires usage of SHARE_LIBRARY_DATA, there is risk that this not set, then does not share data.
2. Package variables in a database package.
Requires round trip to DB. Is this expensive for performance?
What about risk of DB package becoming invalid and losing state?
3. Use global variables
Can be tricky to manage.
4. Use parameters
Only one way, ie called form cannot alter value that caller can see.
Packages are closest to OO approach in using get and set modules. Allows all variables to be managed in one location. This appears best practice.
Forms library packages appear risky if caller does not include SHARE_LIBRARY_DATA.
DB packages have cost of round trip to DB. Does this become expensive is have to reference many times. Also topic of DB package becoming invalid and losing state?
Forms global variables have regular disadvantages of globals, ie not sure who may modify. Need to manage carefully. Text only
As a second related question, for value such as current user, for performance (and maintainability) is it better to obtain this from oracle user function each time, or save somewhere (in one of options above) and use that saved value each time.

My personal opinion:
I like the "packaged" version with getters and setters. In general, i create a client-side package in a pll which has methods to access the value by getters and setters. With that, the "implementation" is encapsulated and doesn't really matter to the rest of your system. All modules have to access the value using the getter and setter.
Inside the procedure i use two approaches:
1. If its for communication purposes between different forms i use globals, which are filled or extracted in the getter and setter (see this http://andreas.weiden.orcl.over-blog.de/article-28180655.html )
2. If its for someother purpose where the value should be "session persistent" i use a database package with getters and setters, which are called from the client-side package getter and setter. If the value is quite "constant" throughout the session, i read the value once at initialization code of the client-side package and the getter just returns that "cached" value
