How do I add an entry in Project Explorer's popup menu

Is it possible to add my own entries in the popup menu of Project Explorer?
I'm considering writing an LabVIEW addin that adds extra functionality to the Project Explorer, but I need a way to extend the context menu.

It is probably possible with digging deep into the contents of your "LabVIEW/resources" folder but will have a number of drawbacks. First your VI will need to provide a specific (undocumented) and most probably not so trivial interface that will be hard to uncover. It will somehow need to tell the project Explorer what it's name is and for what types of files or containers it should be displayed.
Then those hooks will likely change between each LabVIEW version too as the Project Explorer is still a project under development. So unless there is an unlikely document here on ni.com that describes this (and which a search should clearly give you if there) I think it is simply not worth the hassle to dig into this.

The suggestion from Encrypted11 is for adding a keyboard shortcut, if that is what you want to do. If you want to add a custom word to the keyboard dictionary ....
    The iPad Dictionary
The iPad has a dictionary built in. As you type, it compares what you've typed against the words in that dictionary. If it finds a partial match, it displays a suggestion just beneath what you have typed.
If you accept the suggestion by tapping the Space or full stop, great.
If you allow the 'mistake' to stand, the second time you type the same word and reject the correction, iPad adds the new word to its custom, dynamic dictionary. From now on, it will accept the new word and will even suggest it the next time you type something like it.
    That is copied from here.

  • How do I add "Save As" to the Pages drop down menu?

How do I add "Save As" to the Pages drop down menu?

It took me awhile but I found what I was looking for. This is posted at http://www.tuaw.com/2012/07/29/get-save-as-back-on-mountain-lions-file-menu-easi ly-and-without/
Option 1. Terminal.app If you are comfortable using Terminal.app, you can add a different keyboard shortcut this with one simple line. First, quit all your apps except Finder and Terminal. Then paste this command (as one line) into Terminal.app (and press Return):
    1
defaults write -globalDomain NSUserKeyEquivalents -dict-add 'Save As...' '@$S'
view rawdwrite-global-saveas.sh hosted with ❤ by GitHub
    That's it!
Launch TextEdit and open the 'File' menu and you should see "Save As..." back in its rightful spot with its original Command + Shift + S shortcut, as shown in the image above.
Aside: After you enter the 'defaults write' command, you will not see any confirmation that it was entered correctly. Terminal.app is a little terse sometimes. If you want to verify it from the command-line, enter this:
    defaults read -globalDomain NSUserKeyEquivalents
and look for "Save As..." = "@$s"; in the output.
Option 2. System Preferences.app If you would rather not use Terminal, it's still very easy to add the keyboard shortcut.
Launch the System Preferences.app, then open the "Keyboard" preference pane.
At the top you will see "Keyboard" and "Keyboard Shortcuts" – click "Keyboard Shortcuts" (labeled '1' below). Then in the list on the left side, click "Application Shortcuts" (labeled '2' below). Then click the "+" button (labeled '3' below):
Once you press that "+" button, a small window will appear asking you to enter the title of the menu item and the keyboard shortcut that you want to use.
Enter "Save As..." in the "Menu Title:" field, and then press the keyboard shortcut that you want to use. In the example below I pressed Command + Shift + S:
Note: It used to be true that you had to enter an actual ellipsis (which you can get by pressing Option+ ; on a US-English keyboard). However, when I tested this in Mac OS X 10.8.2, it worked with three consecutive periods.
Bonus Tip: Hide the "Duplicate" menu item.
In my original article I suggested that you also enter a keyboard shortcut for "Duplicate" and while youcan do that if you wish, you do not need to do that.
However, if you would like to hide the Duplicate menu item, you can do that. There are two steps: first, remap "Save As..." to Command + Shift + S (as shown above). Then the 'trick' is to remap "Duplicate" to Command + Shift + Option + S.
What you will have done is swap the keyboard shortcuts for "Duplicate" and "Save As..." which means that OS X will make "Duplicate" the optional command. If you open the "File" menu and hold down "Option" the "Save As..." command will change to "Duplicate"
(Thanks to TUAW reader 'rbascuas' for pointing this out in response to the original article!)
Important Addendum: "Keep changes in original document"
As we reported in August 2012, the "Save As..." command in early versions of 10.8 had an unexpected and likely unwanted side effect in Mountain Lion: it would save the changes in the new document (created by "Save As...") but would also save the changes to the original document.
However, Apple realized that users might not want that behavior, so in Mac OS X 10.8.2 they added an option "Keep changes in original document" which you can see here:
Option A: If you want to save the changes you've made in the document and then save the document with a different name, then make sure that the box is checked.
Option B: If you want your original document to stay as it was when you last saved it and create a new document based on the modified content of that document, then make sure that box is not checked.
If you do not see the 'Keep changes in original document' box, then the application is probablygoing to give you the "Option B" behavior, but if you are not sure, I would suggest choosing Cancel in the "Save" dialog, then copy and paste the contents of the document into a new file, and save the new file. I know that's several extra-and-less-convenient steps, but if you are worried about preserving the original document, better safe than sorry.
You could also save the file, duplicate it in Finder, and rename the new instance. Open old file and revert to previous save using 'Versions'.
Frankly,I wish that Apple had just left the "Save As..." command alone, but for some reason they didn't ask my opinion. That said, I'm glad that they brought it back in Mountain Lion. I would have paid $20 for that feature alone.
Note: This article was re-written and republished on 2013–02–21. The original process still works, but I wanted to update it to reflect some additional information.

  • How to create/add my new solution/project to Source Control at VS Online?

Hi, I'm using VS2012.  I'm logged into VS online and can open the Team Explorer in VS2012. The frustrating thing is how do I add a new solution to source control?  I click on the Solution Explorer, Right click on the solution, Select "Add
solution to Source Control".  The a pop up dialog shows up with 3 of my Solution/projects that are there.
The problem is i don't want to put this new solution under any of the 3 solutions currently in Source Control in VS Online.  I want this to be a new solution/project to be saved in the source control form the root.  If I click on the Advanced button,
edit the "Source Control Folder" path to "$/MyNewSolutionName", I then get an error message saying root folder is reserved only for team project.  How can I get a new solution/project to the source control?  I've done it before
but it seemed to have changed.
Okay, In Source Control Explorer, I select the root, xxxx.visualstudio.com\DefaultCollection.  I then select VS "File" menu and in the drop down I selected "New" and then "Team Project".  It takes me to a browser and
lands at VS online.  I then type in the new team project name.  Everything is good so far.  I now returns to my VS on my local PC, I right click either the solution or the project in that solution, select "Add solution to Source Control".
The "Add Solution... " dialog then pops up.  I selected newly created Team Project, leave everything else in default and select OK and now I get a different error message saying "Fail to create mapping, cannot map server path, $/TeamProject/projectname,
becuase it is not rooted beneath a team project.
How can I fix this and just get my source into the source  control?  Thank you.
    Thank you.
    Thank you

Assuming you map to yoursite.visualsualstudio.com/defaultcollection you will need to create a team project to upload your stuff. If you are trying to save to $/ that is team project collection level and you can only add team projects at that point.
you can add a new team project with the below picture
Then depending on how you have set up your workspace, and assuming locally that you are in the local workspace you can upload your project.

Few entries are there which I'm showing in a datagrid. Now, in run

what I have in XML file. But when I'm trying to add that entry to

    Are you using appendChild()?

  • How can I add 24fps to a project set in 30fps?

First, thanks to all who have helped me so far.
Your advice has provided me with an easier experience.
I've shot the main footage in 30fps (29.97) only to find the openind scene was shot in 24fps. *bah!*
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you again,
    Brad

My position is favoring Christian's reply.
The 24fps scene is of 'an old woman telling us of when she was younger...'
This short opening scene will lead us into the main story.
So, in clear response, "yes, I will keep the different look because I personally feel I can use it to create a feeling that clearly distinguishes between the 'past' and 'present'"
    Even so. . .
No one has answered my question yet :-P
Do you just throw a 24fps clip into a 30fps project and (different look aside) all goes well?
It didn't seem like that when I did it yesterday. It became jumpy, like the program was pissed off about the whole situation . . .
Anyone know how to solve this poser?
    Thanks again

  • How do I add URLs to be blocked in the popup blocker?

The FAQs and help pages don't seem to help with this, so...
The popup blocker built into Firefox allows URLs to be added to an existing long list, but only as 'allow'.
I can delete (remove) existing items or those I've added, but I cannot change the setting from 'allow' to 'block'. How is this done please?
Also, how can I restore the list to the default state (having messed it up now)?
Does it perhaps exist as a a separate editable text file somewhere?
Thanks for any help in this matter.

  • Add repeating entry to collection

    Hi
How can I add repeating entry to collection. For example by pressing button it add entry to collection with date column on 1st of month and with text "example" in column Text for 5 years so the collection will looks like this
    1/1/2014   example
    2/1/2014   example
    3/1/2014   example
    12/1/2018  example

We do not currently support the list comprehension sort of construct that you describe. However, you can use the timer control to simulate iteration. Hopefully the following example will help you get started.
Add a timer control to your canvas. Change its properties as follows:
    TimerEnd: UpdateContext({TStart:100});UpdateContext({TStart:0});UpdateContext({counter:counter+1})
    End: 2
    Start: TStart
    Text: "Timer: " & counter
Now hit F5 to go to preview mode. Click the timer control. You will see it steadily increasing--you can speed up by setting Interval to 0.1 or something like that.
What is happening is that the timer is going from 0 to 2. When it hits 2, the TimerEnd rule resets TStart to 100 and then to 0--the variable's value needs to change for data to flow. This will cause the timer to continue in a loop. We also increment
counter--this value is displayed on the timer itself because of the Text rule above. What you now have is essentially a while loop and you can add Collect statements to the end of the TimerEnd rule to collect values of the counter.
You can also set termination condition:
    TimerEnd: If(counter < 5, UpdateContext({TStart:100});UpdateContext({TStart:0});UpdateContext({counter:counter+1}), false)
I hope that gets you started :-)

  • Add  new entry to HUSSTAT

    Hi All,
How can i add new entry to HUSSTAT transparent table  ?
    for example :
I want to add this entry to HUSSTAT
    200    HU0000007100    E0006  X     ...
some suggested to use FM HU_HEADER_UPDATE   but what inputs should i give to this FM its not clear .

Perhaps I'm not using the right terms. Let me try and restate my problem.
I am now using the "Notebook" theme. I have already created some entries where I've changed the default "My Blog" and associated Latin on the yellow header on top of the page to what I want them to say (i.e., "Bill's Blog" and associated text). You can see an example of such an entry here:
    http://www.billmarksteiner.com/BillMarksteiner/Bills_Blog/Entries/2007/8/27_Dell_repair..._MUCH_better_thanexpected.html
When I click on the "Add Entry" button, I get a page with a yellow border on top with the words "My Blog" instead of what I'd like, which is "Bill's Blog". The Title field and its associated blog entry text (again, Latin) is lower on the page, and I understand that this is necessarily pulled from the standard template because that is the main body of the entry, which one would need to edit to make a relevant entry. But I'd like to at least automate the header material on the yellow strip at top to say "Bill's Blog" instead of "My Blog", and have standard text up there that I create, not Apple.
I guess what I'm asking is if there is a way to edit the template itself so that hitting the "Add Entry" button creates a templated entry of my design. Or at least a templated entry containing my text vs. Apple's.

  • How can i add new identity in file option of menu bar

how can i add new identity option in file option of menu bar

There are, but not with a DVD written as a movie disk. It must be closed when completed, or it doesn't work.
Apple's built in Burn utility also automatically closes any data CD, DVD or Blu-ray disk you burn. Doesn't matter how much space is unused, you can't use it. You'd have to use a more advanced disk creation app, such as Toast Titanium. I then have the option of choosing to write the data as a session:
I can keep doing this until the disk is full. If I've written five sessions to the disk, when I put it in the drive, five CD/DVD icons will appear on the desktop since the OS will treat each session as if they are separate physical disks. At any point you choose Write Disk when writing a group of data, that means you're closing the disk, and again can't add anything after that. So if I had written two sessions, and the third was Write Disk, it's over. I can't put anything else on that disk.

  • How do you add non-Garage band instruments into a Logic project so that you can hear them on playback?

How do you add non-Garage band instruments (orchestral instruments) into a Logic Pro (8) project so that you can hear those insrtruments' sounds on playback?  I've tried to understand and follow the Logic Pro 8 User Manual, but the process comes off as so complex and the writing so technical that it does not help but only confuses.
To be precise - I want to add instruments (orchestral) that are not offered in the current Garage band menu which is offered in the Mixer's channel strip menus for Logic Pro 8.  To be clear, the instruments that are offered are Bass / Drum Kits / Guitars / Mallets / Organs / Pianos and Keyboards / Synth Basics / Synth Leads / Synth Pads.  Most of these that I've tried seem to work and give their characteristic sound when placed in a particular channel and playback is clicked.
However - there is one orchestra instrument offered in the standard Logic Pro 8 Mixer channel menu and it's the item labelled "Performance - 000 flute 1 or 001 flute 1."  And it is this instrument that presents a problem. When I click on it and choose it from the menu and enter it as the instrument of choice for a specfic channel / track in my Logic Pro project arrangement, when playing back the music for the overall piece this particular track, the flute, does not playback and produce the notes (Midi events) in the track in the sound of the flute.  Instead, nothing comes out at all.  I can't imagine why this does not work.  Any ideas, anyone? Again, when choosing this instrument for a track and clicking the playback no flute sound is forthcoming.  Why not? I have not tried them all, but when most of the other various types of keyboards, such as an electric piano or an organ, are chosen for a track the playback successfully renders the sound of these instruments.  Why then does playback not produce the sound of the flute when it has clearly been chosen to play and sound the Midi events given it?
Anyway, the overall, larger issue for me is the inability I have to choose and get non-Garageband instruments (largely orchestral) to play the Midi events given on various tracks. If my guess is correct then technically, orchestral instruments not offered in the standard Logic Pro 8 Garageband Mixer channel menu are referred to as external Midi sampled instruments - still, IMHO the process is not clearly spelled out in the User Manual.  The simple step by step process whereby a non-Garage band instrument, say an orchestral instrument, is placed in a channel replete with Midi event (notes) waiting to be played should be easy, logical and given in a simple to follow format, but is not.
What with all the talk of routes, busses, auxillary channels, GM devices, GM mixers, audio bins, libraries and audio files this Logic Pro User is confused to the max.  Can someone please help me and, in simple English, describe the step by step process whereby presumably external sampled orchestral instruments can be successfully employed, in any given Logic Pro arrangement project, to render their characteristic sounds upon playback?
On my two Macs, one a laptop and one a much larger Mac, I have any number of the GSO (Garritan Symphony Orceshtra) and Vienna Symphony Orchestra instrument library samples - and yet - I've yet to figure out how to actually get them INTO a Logic Pro project of any kind!  To put this as a question, even as a humble request, how can I make good use of these orchestral sample libraries in a Logic Pro project?  Can someone steer my to a clear resolution of this issue.  I'd sincerely appreciate it!  Thanks all!

David,  you understand that this is professional software and is not necessarily meant to be easy but is in fact designed to give the professional user as many choices as possible, that's why it's in the Pro Apps section. You WILL need to learn about buses, GM Devices, Audio Bins, Libraries...etc..etc if you intend to use Logic.
That said, you are looking in the wrong place in the channel strip.
      May I offer you advice?
    Go here:
    http://documentation.apple.com/en/logicpro/
Open "Exploring Logic Pro"  (a short PDF Document). Pay special attention to chapter 3. Also pay special attention to the included graphics of the channel strips.
I encourage you to read the whole document as it will clear up many things... even though it's a Logic 9 document.
    Post back
