How do I align data within a column?

In the newly updated Numbers (Mac), I cannot find how to align data within a column.

The justify data select the column by clicking the column header (the letter at the top of the column) then open the formatter (top right):
then select the "Text" formatter and select the type of aligment you want:

    I agree the documentation is a good place to start. But you should not need a WHERE clause here.

    If you run the SQL directly in Access, what are the results? At the very least, it should provide a more informative error message..

    I have try this because I found it during a search and it makes no difference in IE.
    This is what I am using now 'display: block; width: 100px;max-width:100px;white-space:normal'
    I also tried 'display:block; width:500px'
    If I use the values 'normal' or 'pre' for white-space' it works in FireFox but not in IE, The display block
    does not seem to make a difference. It seems that all I need is 'white-space:normal' but again
    it does not works on IE.

It looks like something similar is going on with systimestamp, and with the date and timestamp casts you are doing.
    The inserts into the table above were done minutes before the selects, but definitely within the same hour. The byte values have no correlation, between the date field and sysdate, nor between the timestamp field and systimestamp, while the the date and timestamp fields are identical to the second. Similarly, the sysdate and systimestamp dumps are identical to the second.
    The vsize function reports the physical storage required for the expression passed. My guess would be that it is implicitly casting sysdate and systimestamp to the equivalent internal representation before calculating the size.

  • How do I reorder data within a Contacts card?

    I want to reorder the data within individual Contacts cards, e.g., repositioning address A above address B. It ought to be as simple as highlighting a given line and pressing the keyboard's Up or Down arrows, but that doesn't work, and I can't find anything in Apple's documentation or support pages offering an alternative that does work. Nothing on the Web either, except for a third-party app being touted by a company I don't know. I'm running the latest Mavericks on an iMac.

  • How to capture the data within the given range of maximum and minimum values ? from csv files

    My requirement,
    1. Here, the user will provide the range like maximum and minimum values, based on this range, the VI should capture the data within the given range. ( from CSV file as attached )
    2. Then VI should calcluate the average value for captured data and export it to excel.
    This is my requirement can anyone help me on this.

    Here I am attaching the VI, what I tried. 
    From attached CSV file, I have to find an average value for columns B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I and AJ, AK. ( data range will be defined  by user ), focused only on these columns
    Here, the scope is to calculate an average value for given data range by user as MAX and MIN data.  
    FYI:  I tried manually for two instance i.e column H & I.  As per H column one steady state values from  7500 to 10500 and similarly in I column 7875 to 10050. So, I gave these as a limit to capture and calculate the average value. But unfortunaltely, requirement has been modified as per below requirements.
    More Info on requirement: 
    --> The user will define the range of data by giving some MAXIMUM and MINIMUM values(for above mentioned columns induvidually), then VI should capture          that data range and it has to caculate the average value for that range of data. This is the task I have to complete. 
    --> I am stuck in creating a logic for data capturing for given range of MAX and MIN value from user, 
         Can anyone help me on this. 
    If my explanation is not clear, Please let me know.

    I have 2 dimension tables (ALLWORK and YOURWORK) and 1 measure table (STATS). In ALLWORK dim table, I have 4 columns, one of them is END_DATE. Based on END_DATE and current date I want to create a named calculation field. To achieve this, I
    want to show the current date in 5th column (of ALLWORK dim table) as calculated member (as named calculation wont show me correct date).
    Problem is, I am not able to create the column in the dimension table. While creating the calculated member, I am not able to select the ALLWORK dimension table, it always selects MEASURE by default. Please help.

    In data source view, we can add named calculation to your table. A named calculation is a SQL expression represented as a calculated column. This expression appears and behaves as a column in the table. A named calculation lets you extend the relational

  • Help with lists and Numbers - how can I separate data from one column?

    I have a series of data entries that have two or three pieces of information listed in one column (it was a list copied from the Internet). My data is in this form all in one column (ie Column A):
    XXXX -- YYYY, ZZZZ
    I want to be able to easily split that data into three columns (A, B, and C) without having to go through and manually separate all of the entries? I'd ideally like to have XXXX in one column, the '--' removed, YYYY in another column, and ZZZZ in a third column, like this:
    Column A Column B Column C
    ====== ====== ======
    XXXX YYYY ZZZZ
    Is this possible? Any help is appreciated.

    Open or paste your material in your favorite texteditor. TextEdit will suffice but there are better applications. Make sure your material is consistent, especially that there are no stray characters or extra spaces studded in the text. You can do this by using the clean up routine as described below.
    1. Copy the set of characters you want to replace. In this case " -- " Note that there are spaces on each side of the dashes and you want to get rid of those.
    2. Open the *Find and Replace* dialogue:
    +Menu > Edit > Find > Find…+ (or command f)
    Paste the " -- " into the Find: field, then type a comma in the Replace: field or
    Copy and paste a tab from the document or
    Click on the Advanced button and enter a tab using the Insert… button that appears.
    3. Click *Replace All.*
    Repeat as necessary. If it doesn't seem to work, copy and paste the bits that stick, usually there is something not visibly different but different as far as the computer iust concerned.
    When you are finished save the results as a comma or tab delimited delimited .txt file and reopen it in Numbers.

    you don't appear to have posted valid XML, so I can't reproduce using your example, but you will need to look at something like this:
