How do I capture other columns in a dynamic parameter prompt?

Hello. I'm sure there's a simple way to do this but I can't find the answer. I would like to define a dynamic parameter field which pops up a list of employees by name yet populates multiple parameter fields (or formula fields?). For example, the EMPLOYEE table contains the EMPNAME, EMPID, DEPTNO, and SALARY. I want to display the EMPNAME but capture the other 3 related columns when the end user selects the employee and then use these 3 fields in my report. I'm using Crystal Reports 2008, SP3.

Thanks for your feedback but that's not the problem. I'll do my best to explain myself one more time and this time I'll try to be more generic.
I have one report that is really nothing more than a container for 4 subreports. Each subreport is linked to a dynamic prompt on the main report. Each subreport reports on a different table and uses different dynamic prompt value. However, each subreport's dynamic prompt is using the same table (TABLE "A") for it's list of values, but subreport "W" asks the user to select the department, subreport "X" asks the user to select the location, subreport "Y" asks for the supervisor, and subreport "Z" asks for something else from table "A". Not only does each subreport's dynamic prompt use the same table for it's list of values, the user must select the same record from table "A" so that each subreport is reporting on the same employee.
So here's the problem: When run from the main report, the user is prompted 4 times, once for each different dynamic prompt. But if the user accidentally selects a different employee for 1 of the 4 reports, it will be wrong. What I'd like to do is have the main report pop up a list from table "A" just once for all 4 subreports. Any thoughts on how this could be done?

Believe it or not, the same FM worked for me in a dynpro. I will try to explain here how it works in custom screen and then you can do your work for other screens or program types. I am not going to write my actual work but will explain in general.
I have 4 fields (FLD1, FLD2, FLD3, FLD4) and i made the search based on FLD2 and when user click on a line (could be any field), then this would bring the line on to the screens.
There are like 3 steps.
You have your value_tab for my fields FLD1, FLD2, FLD3 and FLD4. This is just the data that we pass into the FM. (data: IT_VALTAB type table of ZVAL_TABLE)
Next map the screen fields into an internal table (data: It_dynpfld type table of dselc ). I also have other internal tables defined (just to keep it straight, i will be putting here) data: It_return type standard table of ddshretval.
Next step is to call the function module. Make sure you have values in IT_VALTAB.

How to get the other columns of a particular mininum value

I have a multiple rows per account in a table. I build a object minimum(col1) in the Business Object universe. I need to get the corresponding values of a min(col1) for each account. Problem is when i pull the min(col1) and other column, it always gives every combination of the min(col1) for each account. you can do this very quickly by creating a crosstab with the Acct as the Row, and Col1,2,3 as the Columns, and the Maximum of your field as the summary.

How to replace part of column name with dynamic value

I have the following construction in an update transaction:
$upd_blg_user_usr->addColumn("report_1_user", "NUMERIC_TYPE", "VALUE", "{rsCatReport.id_report}");
The dynamic value, {rsCatReport.id_report}, gets a url variable.
I want this variable to replace the "1" in the column name "report_1_user". Something like this:
$upd_blg_user_usr->addColumn("report_{rsCatReport.id_report}_user", "NUMERIC_TYPE", "VALUE", "{rsCatReport.id_report}");
That construction, however, does not work. Prevents the page from loading. I've tried different constructions but have not hit one one that works.
First, I'm not sure anything will work and second, if some different construction will work, I don't know what it is.
Can anyone answer these questions. Thanks in advance for your help.

Here's the rationale. The same basic form appears on many different pages. The only difference among the forms is the outcome of submitting the form. The form on different pages takes you to a different download page and a database column is marked to signify that the user downloaded that form. For instance:
report_1_usr
report_2_usr
report_3_usr
And so forth...
Up to now each form has had to include the url variable so the submit would take the user to the right download page and it has had to include a unique reference to the correct database column.
Now I can echo or insert that url variable all over the place, including the reference to the column name in the transaction, so I can use a single instance of the form and include it on all pages.

Displaying other columns/tables apart from a cross tab

I designed an RTF template. This contains 3 tables. First table contains the invoice information. 2nd table is the cross tab and 3rd table contains the aging details. My requirement is to print the other tables in all pages if the cross tab goes to multiple pages. Presently all the tables are displayed in the 1st page only. If the cross tab output goes to next page then the 1st and 2nd tables are not being displayed in other pages.
Can anyone suggest me how to display the other columns/tables apart from cross tab columns if the cross tab output goes to multiple pages.

How can we use C# to read dynamic parameter's value list from .rpt?

I'm using Cystal Report 2008. We know starting from CR XI we can create dynamic parameters, the list of items of this kind of parameter are fetching from database. So in general the SQLs to get the list of values for dynamic parameters are stored in the .rpt.
In Crystal Report Designer, if I preview a report with dynamic parameters, it will first query the database and then show the input dialog with list of values from database for user to choose. My question is can we implement the same thing by our C# code? I'm planning to use C# code to read this dynamic parameter's value list from .rpt and render them on the web page. Then pass back the user selected values to the .rpt to run the report after user make the choice. I didn't find any APIs can do this. Is it possible?

How to include a default value in Dynamic cascading prompt from 2nd Level.

I use Command Object in 'Datbase Expert' to create 'Custom Tables' and use these tables to fetch LoVs. I use Dynamic Cascading Prompts in the reports. I have a peculiar requirement using DCP.
There are Four Levels as in the Example:
Continent
   Country
   State
   City
In the Custom Table, requirement is to create an additinal row with '' that represents 'All Values selected' for that level starting from second. and The default selection should be '' . I defined that '*' means 'All Vales Selected in the report' This si not a problem. But the problem how to show a default value in a Dynamic Cascading Prompt i.e. how we can make sure in an default value can be selected in DCP from Second Level?
how can the examples 1,2,3 can be achieved detaisled below beacsuse we need to show a default value in Casacading Propmt

You won't be able to have a true "default" value in the various cascading levels, since there aren't default values in a dynamic cascading parameter. That being said, I've created a sample report in Crystal Reports 2008 that has a Command-driven DCP with '*' values for the 2nd and 3rd levels of my 3-tier DCP and have accounted for them in the record selection criteria. I have a scenario like editing the some of the Customer details where as one field is dynamically populating from a different table.
Columns like Include, Frequency, Communication, Address and Exclude has to be displayed in tabular format and data should be stored in a table called "om_customer_catalog ".
In this "Communication " column value is dynamically populating from a table called "om_customer_settings" and the no. of records in the om_customer_settings table may vary time to time as per the settins in the Admin module.
I want the user to edit all details except Communication column for all the rows which is displayed and the no. of rows should be displayed dynamically as per the settings.
how can i achieve this?...which way i need to proceed like whether report kind of thing..or someother way..

More Column details:
Include - a Check box with editable(values Y or N)
Communication - text field with display only(values like Promotional Email, All Email etc.)
Frequecny - Drop downbox with editable(values Annually/Monthly/Weekly etc)
Address - Drop down with editable(static values like Me, Father, Mother,Brother etc)
Exclude Reason - text field with editable(any text value)
Apply - a button for saving the changes

Solution is quite tricky, You have to make a procedure which select each row of your tabular form and executes the update statement (customized).
e.g
to select each row of table use
begin
FOR I in 1..APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01.COUNT
LOOP
insert into table_name values(APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01(i),'PENDING',sysdate,'RESOURCE','','','','');
end loop;
end;
here APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01(i) will return the value of the first column of selected row. Pick the values and make a cutomized update command.

How can I sort one column of words and not have it affect the other columns? I have opened the inspector to the edit columns and rows under Table. It will sort the column, but then it changes the other colums as well. I know that if I use Numbers, it will work, but I want to know how to do the same thing in Pages.

Numbers sorts full rows on values in selected column(s). The technique for sorting a single column is essentially the same as Jerry is describing for Pages tables—separate the (data in the) column to be sorted, sort it, return it to the table.
In Numbers the actual column may be separated from the original table, sorted, then returned. In Pages, the data must be extracted, sorted, then pasted back in, overwriting the unsorted data (if it was left in the original table).
iWork tables follow a database model in which each row is a Record, and each column holds a Field within the records.
As evidenced by the current question (and several similar questions arising in the Numbers community) that model doesn't apply to the way some users, especially some who come in from the MS Excel world, use tables.
With Excels model—islands of data on a single large table, the ability to sort one or a selected few columns of data makes sense. One 'island' may comprise only cells AA21:AH50. Sorting that small 'table' should be possible without disturbing the rest of rows 21-30, which are probably part of one or more other 'data islands' in the sea that is a MS Excel spreadsheet.
In Numbers, each of those 'islands' would be a separate Table, and that Table would be sortable without disturbing other Tables in the document.

How can I sum every other column in the same row?

I have, for each employee, two columns: Planned and Worked.
I would like to sum the values in each Planned column. There are 25 employees, each with their own Planned and Worked columns, on the same row.
How can I do a SUM of every other column, starting with Planned?

I am looking to see if anyone has found out how to do a sum or percentage totalling other columns or rows in Numbers?

I am looking to see if anyone has figured out, from their iPad in Numbers how to calculate percentages or sums totalling other columns or rows?

The issue is I bought the G4 from my buddy a few months ago... the machine has been abused to say the least, both inside and out. It is almost falling apart and has a BUNCH of programs loaded on it. I have always used a PC and am still familiarizing myself with Macs, I need to clean out the machine and dump all the excess applications and files that are causing problems.
I think this is why I am having some trouble. Sometimes it works just fine, but I am only working with a few simultaneous tracks at a time. I am using the virtual instruments at this time but will be running guitars and bass through an external sound card soon. Similar to what you are doing it sounds like.
Anyway, wanted to give you some more insight. Last night it seemed to work alright, I am not going to rush into buying anything until I absolutely have to but want to get some direction as far as what I should be looking at.

The Score(1) does return a number but it is not the number we
are looking for. For example, we have a column, say,
Description in a table. The Decsription column has text,
say, 'Telecom'. Now when we do a query and search on the
description column using the intermedia index for the
word 'Telecom', then the Score(1) should return 100 for that
record since that is the only word in the Decsription column.
Is it possible to do that using intermedia?

How to use SQL*Loader to load XMLType Column with other columns?

I am trying to use sqlldr to load an XML file into a table with an XMLType column. I have found plenty of examples where the entire table is an xmltype, but I would like to load many XML objects into a generic table for processing with one XMLType column and many other columns to identify the load. As a simple example, I have one constant column which I want to set during the upload.
The following example does not work :(. No errors either.

there is no proper way to insert two Cell Editors in a column(except variants), have a look on below scenario, it may help.
add one more attribute to your table context node for read-only.
create dropDown as celleditor for table and bind with newly created attribute to read-only property of dropdown.
before binding data to table, check the condition then mention readonly value abap_true / false.
@ we can achieve by the use of Variants.
for ex :
Data 11
Data 12 ( Editable with Drop down)
data 13
read-only - abap_false
Data 21
Data 22 ( Non editable, dropdown )
Data 23
read-only - abap_true
Data 31
data 32 ( Editable with drop down )
data 33
read-only - abap_false
