I Have recently changed my email address. I changed my account on ICloud but when I try to access ICloud on my Ipad it comes up with my old email address grayed out and I cannot access my old account or change it to the new email address. I am currently signed in under the account linked to my new email address and when I tried signing in under my old account that didn't work either. Can anyone offer me any advice please.

You should be able log out of the account via Settings > iCloud > Delete Account and you can then log back in with the updated version of your account

You will wait for the rest of your life. You need to fix it; no one else will. To turn off "Find my iPhone" and its associated Activation Lock you need the Apple ID and password that were used to turn it on. If you know the Apple ID you can contact Apple Account Security and have them reset the password (after you prove you are the rightful owner of that Apple ID). see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699.
If you don't know the Apple ID the phone is permanently unusable.

To change iCloud accounts you have to go to Settings>iCloud, sign out, then sign back in with your other ID to create your new account. If you want to migrate a copy of the iCloud data to the new account, start by saving any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save Image. If you are syncing notes with iCloud that you want to keep, you'll need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself so you can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out, choose Keep on My iPhone and provide the password to turn off Find My iPhone when prompted. Then sign back in with your new Apple ID to create your new account and choose Merge to upload the data to your new account. Once you are on a separate account you can go to iCloud.com and delete your husband's data from your account (and he can do the same with yours).
Just be aware that the current @icloud.com email address cannot be moved to the new account, nor can the current my photo stream album (which is why you need to save any my photo stream photos you want to keep to your iPhone before signing out of the existing account).

Also, when you delete the account you will be asked if you want to Keep or Delete the iCloud data. If you need to migrate a copy of the data to your new account, choose Keep, then choose Merge after signing back in with your new ID to upload the data to your new account.
Deleting the account will delete the photo stream photos from your device. If you want to keep them, save them to your camera roll (if not already there) before deleting the account. I set up iCloud email OK on my new iPad 2. I did not previously have a MobileMe account. When the email stopped working (I got repeated messages to say server unavailable) I followed Apple instructions to delete the account from the iPad with the intention of re-adding it.
When I try to do this, it always wants to make me create a new @me.com email address, and I can't find a way to tell it my existing one. If I try to add my existing address, it tells me that it is taken and I have to choose another (of course it's taken, it's mine!)

I have solved this - partially. I deleted the iCloud account from my iPad, rebooted it, then re-added it using my @me.com address as my AppleID instead of my primary AppleID. These are still linked to one another.
The iPad still says it cannot contact the iCloud server, so in the Advanced pane of the Mail settings, Outgoing Mail Server, I have allowed it to use the outgoing server of another email address of mine.

You need to change which email account is the default. Go to Settings -> Mail -> Default Account and choose your personal account. This will now be the default account whenever an account is not specified; i.e. sending links from Safari, emailing photos, etc. To send an email from your Business account you'll need to enter mail, touch the business account, and then choose to create a new email.

Can I delete my iCloud email account, with was set up by mistake,without losing my pictures, books, photos, etc that have been saved to iCloud? I lost all my photos/ videos, other material when I hooked the iPad to the pc to load my pictures to the pc. I was told I should have iCloud, which I didnt before and everything worked fine. Delete your mail account from Mail preferences and set it up again using the Mail Server Information.

What sort of default emails? Do you mean @icloud.com versions with the same username? - that's normal. Or do you mean additional aliases? You delete these at http://icloud.com - go to the Mail page, click the cogwheel icon at top right, choose 'Preferences' then 'Accounts in the toolbar of the pane which opens. Select the alias you want to delete and click the '-' button below the list. And change your password. If it's not one of these types, what is it exactly (don't post your actual email address).
