How do I change Records per Document in Create Merged Document tab?

I'm trying to use the merge documents function, but when I go to the Create Merged Document tab and select Multiple Record Layout, the dropdown menu can't be changed from Single Record.
That evidently has to be changed in order to get Indesign to insert multiple instances of my ticket merged with data from a numbers source, as instructed . So I'm stuck.

Data merge - multiple records per document

I am trying to do a data merge to have 4 addresses per page. I have my main page setup with the merge fields. When I select create merged document, the "records per Document Page" drop down is greyed out. I cannot select multiple records.
What am I missing?

I guess I still do not understand how this works. I would like the multiple addresses to print 4-up on a page so that I can cut a letter size page in to fourths for postcards. The attached image shows my main document.

Is it possible? I want to create a folders in Document Library but inside folders i do not want to upload a file instead of just i want to create a record. I will map my local file path to the records.

Hello Sankaran,
document library is to upload documents, without document you will not be able to add a record or Item to it.
for your requirement you can use a list and enable folders within the list and maintain the local path of the file as an item in list.

Help to Configurate check in Print Preference: Per Document Tab

Hi Everybody!
Please I want to know if it's posible to configurate the check box from : Print Preferences: Per Document Tab when a want a Message printed in documents to contain the information when that was not created. I just want to choice the check but just for a delivery document not for all the documents.

If you create your message in the print preferences, you will then need to add the required field containing your message to the layout.
You can create your conditional formula in a separate field and link it to that field so it will display only when your formula is true

How to place 3 records per (printing) page

How would I go about only displaying 3 records per each a4 paper printed.
For example:
9 records in total.
I want to print that (printing on paper), but only want 3 records per A4 size as records are being split between two pieces of paper.

I have done all the extraction and they display on the page with no problem. All the records are there and display fine.
The problem is that i need to be able to create something like a page break every three records, as when i send the print to the printer, it has 3 records and a half on each A4 sheet of paper.
I just need to be able to code: 'only print 3 records per A4 sized paper'.
I have a css'd div tag which is the size of the A4 paper, but i need to be able to tell it to only display 3 records per A4 page.
At the moment, it looks like this:
The 'sound trolley - PAC' record shouldn't be spliut between pages. The title and the details should be on the same page, so im guessing would require something like a break after 'Nexo Subwoofer'.

Hi I have report , with two queries. Each query has one group with the same data. lets say the queries are Q1 and Q2. The Groups are with column DeptNo, and DeptNo1 both pointing to the same column DEPTNO. Now I want to design it in such a manner that it shoudl print each group , one record per page, but same group on the same page. For Example

Hi Feroz,
You can create a query Q0 to return DeptNo 10, DeptNo 20..... and make it as the parent of Q1 and Q2. Then you can print one dept per page.

How to accommodate changes to a document when it is linked to other objects?

We are using SAP Document Management System and Easy DMS to store and retrieve documents in all functional areas of the organization, i.e. engineering, sales, finance, etc. We have linked the Document Info Records (DIRs) for several engineering documents to the networks in the projects where they are required. When the engineering documents are updated our configuration requires that new versions of the document and DIR be created. The old version of the document and DIR are still linked to the project network. In order to see the new version of the document and DIR from the project network, the object link must be manually updated.
Is there a way to make the new version of the document and DIR automatically be linked to the project network?
We are not now using Engineering Change Management. If Engineering Change Management were used to control changes to the document - rather than document versions - would the changes in the document be available from the project network with out having to update the object links? This of course would be due to the fact that we are not creating a new version of the document.
Any other insight that anyone can provide would be helpful. We are actually linking the document and DIRs to several networks in the project. When the version of one document and DIR changes - there is a lot of maintenance involved in updated all of the object links.
