How do I change the spacing between letters of a FONT

I have a Jpanel that I am writing TEXT on.
I am using the graphics.drawChars(...) method, with a monospaced font.
I would like to "Squeeze" the letters together, to get more letters per line.
(still monospaced, just make them all 1 pixel closer to each other)
I tried calling the drawChars method for each character, recalculating the
x and y coordinates each time, but it is WAY TO SLOW.
If I call drawChars with the whole string, it defaults to the normal spacing of the font.
any ideas on how to do this?

It is also a VT emulator that I am working on.
At first I was using DrawChar and updating a line at a time, but the customer does not
like the font (the biggest that fits on the screen) so I am trying to FORCE a larger font
onto the screen by squeezing the letters closer.
As soon as I went to calling drawChar or drawString for each char, the performance
dropped to unacceptable levels, since it is making 80 calls for each of the 24 lines,
rather then just one per line.
DrawChars calls DrawString, so the results from using them are the same.
I created my own FontMetrics, and changed the Width methods,
but the calls to drawString and drawChar seem to not use the font metrics.

In the Format panel under the Text Style tab, there is a ▸ Spacing category. Click it to open, and you will have a selector that defaults to Lines, and to the right, the ability to set your spacing in decimal values. In addition to Lines, you also have At Least, Exactly, and Between capability. You can even set exact line height in points. Check that your Before Paragraph, and After Paragraph settings are correct for your needs.

How to Change the Spacing Between Bullets on a List

I used to use Microsoft Expression and I could change the spacing between bullets on a list by formatting the paragraph and changing the spacing. In Contribute I don't see how to do that. I tried to Edit Roles under Administer Websites so it would be 2 lines after paragraph, but that doesn't help. So if I want to increase the spacing between bullets on a list, how do I do that in Contribute?

That site is using an old font technology called cufon, it uses canvas to draw the text into the font you want. Not really good for modern websites.
It is what the font was and how it was made. I never used Cufon but the documentation is here - Usage · sorccu/cufon Wiki · GitHub At a glance there are no render options for the double spacing so I am guessing it was how the font was generated.
I would scrap all of that completely tbh.

Select the paragraphs where you want to change the spacing.
Format Panel > Text > Spacing
You can change 1.0 - Single to something else, or type a number in Before or After.

Okay, I haven't found a way to add an extra space using Find/replace, but you might be able to add some text wrap to the check boxes that will push the text away from them.
Open Find/Replace and click the Object tab.
Click the Specify attributes to find button to the right of the Find Object Format: field.
Under Basic Attributes, choose Stroke and then the Black swatch (assuming the black swatch is applied to the strokes of your check boxes). If there are no other stand-alone objects in your form with a Black stroke, this should be all you need. (If there are Black strokes on your table cells, they will be ignored.)
Click OK
Click the Specify attributes to change button to the right of the Change Object Format: field.
Under Basic Attributes, choose Text Wrap & Other > Text Wrap > Type: > Wrap around bounding box (2nd button from left)
Under Offset, set a Right offset at the distance you'd like to add (I don't know what units you use, but the 3-5 points might work for your purposes...might take some trial-and-error to get it where you want)
Click OK
Click Change All

Click on the footnotes in Pages ’09 or v5.2.2.
In Pages ’09, in the Document Inspector, there is a section called Footnotes & Endnotes.
In Pages v5.2.2, a new Footnotes tab will appear.

Hello everyone!
I would like to open up some space in my bookmarks toolbar (also on the navigation toolbar if I can) by reducing the spacing between the icons. Is there any way to do this without the need of some third party program? If not, which one should I download?
Curious thing is that a few days ago I did not have this problem at all, all my bookmarks were visible in the toolbar regularly, neat and tight. Now there is that boring guillemet sitting there at the corner...

How do I reduce the spacing between icons in Finder windows?

Hi,
I have recently changed the size of my icons to 32x32, and the icon text down to size 10 (default icon sizes looked way too big for my taste).
What seems to be happening though is that all icons are spaced at the same distance than when they were the default size (48x48?) leaving vasts amount of white space in between them.
Is there a way I can change that setting so all icons are closer to each other, not wasting so much empty space?

How do I change the contrast between foreground and background in CS4 workspace menus?

Everyone at my agency who has upgraded from CS3 to CS4 is dismayed to discover that they can not read any tabs on the workspace except the highlighted one. The foreground and background colors are simply too close together for anyone who doesn't have very good eyesight to use 8 hours a day, and if you have any form of color blindness, just forget it. Is there any way to change the foreground and background colors in the workspace itself?

I don't believe it's possible. It would be like altering the ribbon in Office 2007 to make it work like Office 2003. This is a built-in function and from the upcoming betas in the Labs it appears they are going to continue this trend. Only thing I can really suggest you do is submit a feature request: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform . Outside of that there is not much you can do.
One other thing has come to mind but it only works for the document area and not other menus. Instead of opening documents in the tabs in one window you can click on Window at the top and choose Cascade to view each file in its own window and go back to Expose for fast-switching between windows.

When you go to a website and enter a username and password that haven't been saved, Firefox will ask if you want them remembered. This question appears in an arrow panel connected to the key icon on the address bar.
If you click on other things, or switch tabs, then the question will disappear. But as long as you remain on the same web page, the key icon will remain visible so you can bring it up again manually.

How do you change the FILE "print code" resulting printed font size?

I would like to adjust the "Print Code" resulting printed document font size. Though the changes can be made in display font for the Code window via a file or the Preferences Menu, I cannot find the style information to change the Print Code.

I would like the code print out font to be a smaller size. Currently, it ls printing at 12 pt Monaco ( I can emulate this exactly by printing the same document in an editor set as Monaco 12pt ). However, the settings (see below) are set at Monanco 9pt. This works on the screen, but not for printing.

Yet the code:print gives me more characters per line, resulting in many more pages per printout. The "print preview" shown in my last message is exactly what the printed page looks like as well.
NOTE: with the same settings ("smallest Monaco 9pt), Dreamweaver CS3 on OSX *does* code:print the smaller size, though without color coding. Dreamweaver CS 5 on my system does not.
