Here's how I do that in Yosemite (OS X 10.10) -
Open Mail. Open Mail's Preferences (in the Mail menu in the main menubar). On Mail's Preferences, go to the Viewing tab.
Click (checkmark) the item "Use classic layout". That should change the layout of the window to the old-style over-under arrangement for the mail list and display panes. Then drag the dot in the center divider (the horizontal bar that separates the message list pane from the message display pane) all the way to the bottom of the window so that the bottom pane is closed.
Uncheck the item "Use classic layout". That should result in the 'new' style layout but with only two panes showing - the mailboxes list (if set to show) and the list of messages. The display message window should not be open at this point. If you wish to re-open it, look for a small dot in the right-hand margin of the window, and drag that dot a bit to the left.

I have a HP Officejet Pro 8500A. I am trying to print a greeting card, but cannot figure out how to print on the right side of the paper so that it's on the correct side when folded. The paper is 5X7 when folded, 10X7 laid flat.

Welcome to the forums. I will try to explain this in simple terms, and you'll have to play with it. We'll use plain paper, cut to 10x7. You'll need a marker, 4-5 sheets of paper.
Lay paper flat, number top 1, bottom 2. Flip paper over right to left. number top 3, and bottom 4.Draw a line where the fold would be on each page.1) Put paper with number 3 side up in printer.
To create both templates using MW Office, do this. The requires 2 documents. One is graphic, one is text.
Text template: The text will be printed on number 2. That means your wording must be within the bottom half of the page.
Graphic template: The image must be rotated 180 degrees.The image must be within the top half of the page.
Print the text template. Insert side #3 into the printer. The text should print on side #2.
Print the graphic template: Insert side #1 into the printer. The graphic should print on side #3.
When folded, all should be correct, if I did it right.

Opening in the side bar is the default for bookmarks that are created via a link or button on a website.<br />
You can check the Properties of a bookmark via the right-click context menu in the side bar (Ctrl+B; Cmd+B on Mac).<br />
In the Bookmarks Manager (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks) you can click the More button in the Details pane at the bottom right.<br />
Make sure that "Load this bookmark in the side bar" is not selected.<br /> -

You have to change your page design so the link doesn't occupy the full screen of your content.

Messages appear on the RIGHT SIDE of viewer window- how to change to bottom
I've got an iBookG4 and recently started using the Mail application (2.1). When I opened the program, the messages appear on the RIGHT SIDE of the viewer window, not on the bottom (as I'm used to from other email programs). I've tried all the Preferences, all the 'Window' options on the Mail application, but can't seem to find a way to get the messages to the bottom of the viewer window. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.....

It appears to me as if you, or a previous user of your computer may have installed a third party plugin such as Letterbox.
Uninstalling the plugin would result in Mail returning to the default appearance.

When reading my e-mail after about 20 or so I can't go down any farther. There is no arrow to scroll down on the right side of the screen. I have to delete some messages in order to go on down the mail list.
And attached is a screen grab showing selected e-mails in the Inbox...the white space below are e-mails too!

In Mail, my message preview used to be shown to the right side of the messages. Now it is showing below the messages. How can I move it back to the right?
Select the Viewing tab in the Mail preferences dialog and uncheck the box marked Use classic layout.

How do I change the layout in mail so the right side of all messages aren't cut off?
When I upgraded to the new Mavericks operating system I decided to give mail a go rather than using my internet based email. However, I cannot seem to adjust the inbox view so that my messages aren't cut off. Right now all of my messages are pushed over to the right and there is no way that I can find to move them to the left so I can read the whole message. I have the list of emails as small as it will go, but the preview section has a big white space to the left of messages and then the right side of the messages are all cut off. How can I fix this? Since installing LTR 5.4, which I've now upgraded to 5.6, I've encountered repeated slowness and malfunctions in operations, especially when using the Compare View function and the Tab key to open and close the right and left side panels. Such problems never arose during two years of using LTR-4 and nothing else has changed on my computer. I have a pretty simple system with only a few plug-ins, which are usually not in operation. I have 12GB of RAM in my Windows 7 PC. I could illustrate these problems with screen shots if you would tell me how to submit screen shots. Otherwise I will try to describe the problems in words.
The problem is clearly cumulative, growing worse as usage time passes. Compare View feature gradually slows down and eventually seems to choke as my work session proceeds. If I Exit LTR and re-enter and start all over, things will work normally for maybe 30 minutes, but then the Compare View feature begins to become very slow to respond. In a recent example with my screen full of thumbnails in Library mode I highlighted two images to compare. LTR started to open the Compare View screen by first having the top row of thumbnails disappear to be replaced by the "SELECT" and "CANDIDATE" words in their spaces (but no images), but Compare View never succeeded in gaining control of the screen. After some seconds the top row of thumbnails reasserted its position and the Compare View windows disappeared. But LTR kept trying to bring them back. Again the top row of thumbnails would go away, Select and candidate would reappear, try again, and give up. This went on for at least 2-3 minutes before I tried to choose File and Exit, but even that did not initially want to respond. It doesn't like to accept other commands when it's trying to open Compare View. Finally it allowed me to exit.
To experiment I created a new catalog of 1100 images. After 30-40 minutes, the Compare View function began to operate very slowly. With left and right side panels visible and two thumbnails highlighted, hitting Compare View can take half a minute before the two mid-size images open in their respective SELECT and CANDIDATE windows. When the side panels are open and two images are in the Select/Candidate spaces, hitting the Tab button to close the side panels produces a very delayed response--25-30 seconds to close them, a few more seconds to enlarge the two images to full size. To reverse the process (i.e., to recall the two side panels), hitting Tab would make the two sides of the screen go black for up to a minute, with no words visible. Eventually the info fields in the panels would open up.
I also created a new user account and imported a folder of 160 images. After half an hour Compare View began mis-placing data. (I have a screen shot to show this.) CANDIDATE appears on the left side of SELECT, whereas it should be on the right. The accompanying camera exposure data appears almost entirely to the left of the mid-screen dividing line. Although the Candidate and Select headings were transposed, the image exposure data was not, but the data for the image on the right was almost entirely to the left of the line dividing the screen in two.
Gurus in The Lightroom Forum have examined Task Manager data showing Processes running and Performance indicators and they see nothing wrong. I could also send screen shots of this data.
At this point, the only way I can process my images is to work 30-40 minutes and then shut down everything, exit, and re-start LTR. This is not normal. I hope you can find the cause, and then the solution. If you would like to see my screen shots, tell me how to submit them.

Text is truncated on the right side of a text field. How to solve?

I use CR for the .NET Platform 10.2 (VS 2005/.net2.0). In several cases the texts in my crystal reports are truncated on the right side of the text fields (which can show more than one line and which are set in the way that it increases if more than one line is needed).
I created the CRs with CR in VS 2003. Then I migrated the VB.net project from VS 2003 to VS 2005. Then, when I opened a CR in VS 2005 and saved it again I got the message that it will be changed to the newer version if I click "yes" (or perhaps it was the "ok" button). I guess that was the moment the CR was migrated to the newer CR version.
Because of the truncation problem I created one of the CRs completely new with exactly the same settings (i.e. the heigths of the sections, the widths of the text fields, and all the other setting are completely identical to the CR created in VS 2003). Interestingly, the texts are truncated in none of the text fields any more.
Have I done the migration correcty? (Is it really opening the CR and saving it an saying "yes" or should I rather have done it in another way?)
Does somebody of you already have had this kind of problem? How could it be solved without creating all CRs anew?
Does recreating a CR which shows truncation of texts really solve it, or is truncation caused by something else, perhaps a certain property of a CR etc?
The "printer" is set to "no printer" in all CRs. The truncation does show independent of whether the registry entry "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Crystal Decisions\10.2\Crystal Reports\Export\PDF\ForceLargerFonts" is set to 1 or to 0.

I already installed crvs05sp1 a few months ago (still traceable by the dir "C:Program FilesCommon FilesBusiness ObjectsPatchesCrystal Reports for Visual Studio .NET 2005 Service Pack 1" on my computer).
Unfortunately, I cannot find any fitting entry in the kbase. If I search for "text truncation" or "text truncated" i get results but they are about pdf or word or fixed truncation problems in older CR versions.
It seems as if I am the only one who has to face this problem :-).

Sounds that you have opened the Bookmarks sidebar (View > Sidebars; Ctrl+B) and not use the Bookmarks Menu button that opens a drop-down list.
You can find a toolbar button in the toolbar palette that shows as a star with a drop marker when placed on a toolbar that opens the bookmarks in a drop-down list.<br />
The other toolbar button with a star opens the bookmarks in the sidebar.

Note that you need to hide the Menu Bar and possibly the Bookmarks Toolbar to make this button stay on another toolbar after you close the Customize window. -

I just updated to Firefox 4.0.1. Some changes I don't like, especially that the Bookmarks toolbar opens to the left of the drop-down menu instead of the right. How can I change it?
You may have bookmarks that have long title. Firefox 4 shows the full text of the bookmark name, so if it doesn't fit with opening to the right side the Firefox will open to the left side. You can scroll through the list and make the bookmarks with a long name shorter.
