How do I combine all my contacts on different devices?

I have an iMac (running Lion), an iPhone 4S and a New iPad. All are software updated.
On my Mac, it appears that I have three different contact lists: All Contacts,iCloud Contacts and iMac Contacts
Each of these have some contacts, but none of them have ALL my contacts. On my iPhone my default is iCloud. Neither of the other other lists seem to be available.
On my iPad I have no choice which contact list to choice of 'default' and I can't figure out which it is.
I want to combine all my contact lists. Or should I just use my iCloud to update my contacts manually. My other thought was to do an excel or numbers work sheet and then transfer the data to my iCloud. I don't know how that would work, but it seems like a good idea.
Any ideas? I really don't feel like wiping out all the lists and then manually doing a master list.

Thank you for trying to help! When I click on "Purchase" it only shows songs that I downloaded when using my Mac., not the music I downloaded using my laptop. You said I should "download the music that I bought"...do you mean I need to go to all the songs and download each one again (that would take forever as I have had my laptop for a long time and only just got my iMac last year). Why is my laptop library not accessible through my iMac automatically.

Your old account is the one you migrated, but it has been renamed because the new account had the same name. "Fixing" this is a bit complicated. It is possible to transfer data from one account to the other. See Transferring files from one User Account to another.
A cleaner solution is to do this:
Create a temporary new admin user account with a completely different username.
Log into this new account.
Delete the new account you created before migrating.
Delete the old account you migrated that has the changed name.
Re-migrate your old account from the Mini.
Log into the newly migrated account and delete the temporary account.
And, the simplest solution is to use the migrated account as-is and delete the account you originally made on the new computer.

I didn't use icloud because I had 6Gb photos, and it recommended to use itunes because of that. I did the itunes backup. I don't have outlook installed. You think from windows contacts I can import them from my iphone? How? Thanks for the reply though..getting there. Do you mean they are on the web at iCloud.com or on your PC in an iCloud client (such as Outlook)

There is an option, under Advanced, on the Info Pane in iTunes to replace all contacts on your phone with what's on your computer for the next sync only. So, edit everything on your computer & use that method.

In Lion, the user's LIBRARY folder is hidden. So, it's not visible automatically.
Open Finder.
At the menu items at the top of your screen, click on GO (where you see Finder, File, Edit, View, Go, Help)
Next within the GO options, select the 'Go to Folder' option. You will see a window open to enter text.

If you are syncing your iPad with your computer, one way to delete all your contacts might be to connect the iPad to the computer, then in iTunes select the iPad in the sidebar. Once you've done that, go to the Info tab. Uncheck the box for syncing Contacts, then in the lower right, hit Apply. All the Contacts on your iPad will be gone.
You haven't asked for solutions to use Snow Leopard with iCloud, but there are some solutions for Mail, Address Book and Calendar.

Email notifications are a feature of the Basic and Plus account.
The free account only allows for 50 responses. The Plus (Premium) account allows for 5000.

iphone stores nothing to SIM.
The iphone is designed to be synced to your comptuer.
You should have been syncing your contacts with your computer from the very beginning. The contacts should be on your computer in Outlook, address book or whatever program you set up to sync.

You go into the Contacts app. You select a contact. You select 'Edit'. You select 'Delete Contact' from the very bottom of the contact page.
Repeat for each Contact.

If you've already deleted "everything else"...then plug your phone into a power source and: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings.
Make sure you plug into a power source first...not your computer...as on an iPhone 3G, this can take some time. When finished, all data will be gone.
