How do I compress a PDF so I can email it?

I need to compress a pdf file. bought the converter to convert to windows but it wont allow me to compress or email. Acrobat now says its wants me to pay another fee? I just purchased the converter

Hi peterb,
I see that you just got an ExportPDF subscription. Unfortunately, it doesn't allow you to compress PDF files (that's a job for Acrobat). But, you have several options. You can use Adobe Send to send large files (no need to compress the file); or you can use Acrobat to compress the file (you're welcome to try Acrobat for free for 30 days).
If you decide that you don't want the ExportPDF subscription because it doesn't do what you need it to do, let us know and we can either swap that for a different subscription or cancel and refund you.
Best,
Sara

    Hi, Blue Mamba.
Your file is automatically compressed when using the CreatePDF service to convert from some other file type (e.g. Word, Excel) to PDF. For example, most PowerPoint files get compressed 50% to 90% over their original size.
If there is a particular file you're converting to PDF using the CreatePDF service, and you are not seeing the size savings that you would like, please provide more details.
    Thanks.

How do I compress a PDF that totals 300K MB? I don't have access to the original file, which was created in Illustrator. I'm using Mac 10.5.8 and Adobe Reader X.

Using Acrobat X, I've saved a file as "Reduced Size PDF" -- is it possible
    further reduce this file size?

You can't save a PDF directly to the photos app, but if you can open the PDF in the mail app and get the entire PDF to appear on the screen, take a screenshot of it and that will be saved to the photos app camera roll.
Hold down on the sleep button and the home button at the same time briefly until you see the white flash on the screen and hear the shutter sound. That's how to take a screenshot.
You should probably tap and hold down on the PDF in the mail app and select it to open in iBooks or another PDF app that you might have on the iPad.

How do I take a pdf out of my email and transfer it to adobe so I can print it off my pc?

    Hi Sandy,
    I'd like to assist!
I believe you are asking how to print a PDF from your email? If so, you can save a PDF file to your desktop like any other file (Word, Excel, etc). OR you can print the file directly from your email by opening the attachment and in the top left choosing the 'print' option.
Please let me know if this helps and do not hesitate to ask further questions if you have them!
Looking forward to hearing back from you.
    Kindest regards, Stacy

You have a number of things that will make this not work.
Your mailto link is not the way to go, take a look at this and it should get you on the right path.

On your action page, you can have it give the thank you message that you want.  Having a seperate page saying they forgot to do something complicates matters more than you might wish at this point, and usually irritates people. however if you decide you want to go that way, look up "sticky forms".  What this does is re-populate the fields when they have to go back to correct.
A better way would be to validate the information, you can use Spry if you want which is built into dreamweaver.
You also have in your html form this
    enctype="multipart/form-data"
That is used for sending files, and since you are not, the form would not work, so you want to remove it.
Hopefully that will give you a starting point.

  • How do i compress a .pdf file

How Do I Compress A .    pdf File

The PDF format itself contains significant amounts of compression applied to all PDF file contents. One can compress a PDF file into a ZIP file, but that ZIP file cannot be directly opened by the Adobe Reader.

  • How do you create a PDF which others can type text in to?

    Hi,
I need to create a pdf which others can type into and select options (a booking form). Anyone come across this?
    Thanks

It's relatively easy to produce interactive forms with InDesign CS6/CC and complete them in Acrobat. The forms can include text boxes, radio buttons, tick boxes, drop down menus and so on. It's important to know how to save the form in Acrobat for distribution so that users can save the data once they've entered it. Lynda.com has some useful tutorials, for example: http://www.lynda.com/InDesign-tutorials/InDesign-CC-Interactive-Document-Fundamentals/1290 05-2.html?srchtrk=index:1%0Alinktypeid:2%0Aq:Indesign%0Apage:1%0As:relevance%0Asa:true%0Ap roducttypeid:2
It's also useful to learn how to Replace an InDesign page in Acrobat when you want to update a form. I also suggest you make duplicates of your InDesign forms as once you have converted the form in Acrobat for distribution you can't change it at that stage.
I suggest you produce some short practice forms before you commit yourself to the real thing so you can see what can and can't be done.

  • How do I save a pdf form that can be updated by multiple users

I work for a company that is trying to digitize all of their paper forms. As I am creating these forms, I need to know how one person can open and fill in information, then email the form to another person who can continue to fill out the same form. Any ideas? I already tried enabling usage rights in adobe reader, but we can only have one person fill out some info and once they save it, no one else can make any changes to that specific form.

They are using the original reader. One employee was able to save it where it could still be filled in (I just found out), but another user tried to do save as for the info that was put into the form. So I don't know if she saved it as a pdf and it cleared all the original formatting or not. Any ideas of what happened at that point?
@GiladD:     There are no special apps, this is just opening up as a pdf on a PC desktop. The second user opens the file and it's a normal pdf with no more fields to fill in.
@Bill@VT     We are trying to get the issues resolved before more employees start filling this out on their iPads.

  • How do you attach a pdf file to a email in mailbox or gmail?

I am trying to reply to emails and attach a pdf file from my Dropbox on new iPhone 6. I only get option to attach a picture or scribble

    Hello there,
Once you have created a PDF file with Acrobat.com, this file will live in your file organizer; if you select the file, you will have the option to download it. You can do this either while viewing the document (by clicking the "Download" button in the top menu bar) or from your organizer (hovering over the file name, you will see a little arrow; click it, and in the resulting menu choose "Download"). In both cases, you will be prompted to choose the location on your computer to which to save the file. Once you have chosen a spot, the file will be saved there.
Please let me know if you need any more information on this process.
    Best,
    Rebecca
