Today I upgraded to Snow Leopard and then to Lion. The Epson Artison printer worked fine up until then. Currently I am unable to download anything from Apple OR Epson that allows me to print. I tried upgrading to the Snow Leopard driver as a stepping stone to Lion. But this did not help. Ideas?

In general theory, one now has the Edit button for their posts, until someone/anyone Replies to it. I've had Edit available for weeks, as opposed to the old forum's ~ 30 mins.
That, however, is in theory. I've posted, and immediately seen something that needed editing, only to find NO Replies, yet the Edit button is no longer available, only seconds later. Still, in that same thread, I'd have the Edit button from older posts, to which there had also been no Replies even after several days/weeks. Found one that had to be over a month old, and Edit was still there.
Do not know the why/how of this behavior. At first, I thought that maybe there WAS a Reply, that "ate" my Edit button, but had not Refreshed on my screen. Refresh still showed no Replies, just no Edit either. In those cases, I just Reply and mention the [Edit].
Also, it seems that the buttons get very scrambled at times, and Refresh does not always clear that up. I end up clicking where I "think" the right button should be and hope for the best. Seems that when the buttons do bunch up they can appear at random around the page, often three atop one another, and maybe one way the heck out in left-field.
While I'm on a role, it would be nice to be able to switch between Flattened and Threaded Views on the fly. Each has a use, and having to go to Options and then come back down to the thread is a very slow process. Jive is probably incapable of this, but I can dream.

Epson Artisan 835 won't print on my iMac.

My Epson Artisan 835 printer isn't working with my iMac. I have it connected via a USB cable but it's also a wireless printer. My Dell laptop prints to it just fine wirelessly but my iMac sees the printer but when I print says "not connected".
The printer icon jumps up and down at the bottom of the screen and there is a yellow icon that looks a little like a lightning bolt. I don't know what that icon means.
I'm running Mac OS X 10.7.5.
Ideally I'd like to run it connected via USB as I think I'll have more functionality with the scanning feature if it's hard-wired.

I have an HP Photosmart 8200 and and Epson Artisan 800 printer and neither one is showing up in my printer selection any more. How do I get these back?

I have a MacBook Pro that came with Mac OS 10.7 Lion on it, and had been printing on both an HP Photosmart 8200 and an Epson Artisan 800. I had an issue where I would print from Photoshop and every time I would print I'd need to make a new printer. I don't think that it was ONLY WAY, but it worked for me. Anyways, I finally got tired of scrolling down the list to choose the new printer – HP Photosmart 8200_23 – or something like that, so I deleted some of the printers that had extra numbers. This is where the print Print & Scan dialog in the system prefs has the little plus and minus. It turns out that I pressed the minus on everything - going overboard with my clicks. Now, I have NO PRINTER and each time my computer tries to download drivers from HP and Epson, they have no updates for me. When I go on there website there are no drivers for Mac 10.7. I have no idea how to get my printers back. Any ideas or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, the driver file at http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1398 allowed me to finally install my printer, but does Apple have _any idea_ how long it takes to download a 1.08GB file over a 1.5mbps DSL connection?
Never mind how much of my pricey new SSD is being consumed by the resulting 1.80GB of driver files all for _one_ printer driver that should maybe occupy 200K?
Or that the primary article on OS X printer drivers (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669) -- which does indicate that the Artisan 830 is supported -- does not mention or link to the driver file that's needed to make it work?
Or what a complete violation of Apple's "it just works" gestalt it is to be confronted with the above Catch-22 and to have to search the web and then go through all of the above to make a new laptop talk to a two-year-old printer?
Yes, my printer now works, and yes, Apple's Support Communities were instrumental in getting to this point. But spending all morning (plus download time) getting a printer driver installed tastes way too much like I paid for Apple and got Microsquish.

The colors printed by my Epson artisan printer, particularly the blues and greens, are not true to the photoshop colors, and the Epson prints are darker, denser, and have substantially less [punch than the screen images.I have tried about every setting there is onthe Epson printer drivers under abobe RGB, ICM, and Epson rpint options with little or no effect.

You'll want to read some very important information about Color Management to understand what your settings are doing and how to choose the correct ones, as well as making sure your computer is properly prepared.

I recently bought an Epson Artisan 837 printer. I installed the driver and now Photoshop from CS3 will not open. It quits when the Twain portion of the program starts loading. Does anyone know how to fix this so my printer will work with Photoshop??

You're welcome.
But, no, don't look to Epson for fixes to their driver in newer versions, and Adobe has deprecated the TWAIN plug-in. Hoping for a solution there is futile. That has not happened and it's never going to happen. The consensus is that it's pretty foolish to tie up Photoshop to scan. Honestly.
Any improvement in the behavior of newer versions of the Epson drivers in that regard would be pure coincidence.
You need to understand that you never, ever scan "within" Photoshop, as Photoshop has no scanning capabilities whatsoever. When you use the Import > Twain plug-in all you are doing is blocking Photoshop while you call up the stand-alone Epson scanning software. If you think about it, its most inefficient.
VueScan has a pretty powerful scanning plug-in that can be called from the Impost menu—if you insist. VueScan is not free, but it's a pretty good value, IMO.
As for the Epson CD printing software, I have no clue. Sorry.

I had this same/similar problem. All my other Macs printed to the Artisan 837 on CDs/DVDs without any problem except my MacPro.
I did what you suggested, deleted the Artisan 837 from the Printers & Scanners list is System Preferences. Then reinstalled it by clicking on the plus sign at the bottom of the printers listed on the left side of the Printers & Scanners settings page.
However, instead of just selecting the Artisan 837 in the pop up window, I chose "Add Printer or Scanner..." That brought up another window which let me choose Epson Artisan 837(IP). I installed that and BOOM! It now lets me select all the media types including CD/DVD.
I had also previously downloaded and installed the OSX 10.8 printer drives from the Epson website for the 837. I know, you're not supposed to do this, but, everything works the way it is supposed to now, so I'm leaving it this way.
I'm going to do a back up (clone) and see if there is any software updates and how that affects my printing system.

I would like to print from my iPad wirelessly to an epson artisan 835 printer

I would like to know if I can print wirelessly from both an iPad 4 and an iPad air to an epson artisan 835 printer. So far I have not been able to make it happen. The list of printers does Not include the 835. I would rather buy an additional printer than get into AirPort Extreme if that's what it takes.

If you want to print directly from an iPad you need an AirPrint printer. Otherwise there are workaround options that involve varying degrees of expense and / or inconvenience.
