How do I create a 3d graph

Hi all,
I am trying to create a 3d graph in labview, would this be a waveform?
Would I then need to use a waveform data type for the 3D array I will use to store my data?

HI,
I have used the 3D graphs and they can be tricky. My best recommendation is to look at the examples in the example finder. I did not use wave from data types, just arrays of numbers, FWIW.

Here's a quick example I threw together that generates a sort-of-bell-curve shaped data distribution, then performs the binning and plotting.

How do i create a line graph and scatterplots graph in numbers?

hi fellow mac users, i am taking a biology class and i have to create a graph, the only problem is i dont know where to begin. I would love your advice and ideas on how to do so.THE OTHER TYPES OF GRAPHS THAT I HAVE TO MAKE IS A LINE GRAPH SCATTER PLOT BAR GRAPH AND A PIE CHART. if yall could help me that would be great. (a list of steps will help me alot)

As well as the link in Wayne's post, you can get the Numbers '09 User Guide through the Help menu in Numbers.
Besides Chapter 7, which deals with your current question, I would strongly suggest reading at least the first four chapters of the guide for a good grounding in the basics of using Numbers.

When I try clicking line graph, it shows me an empty graph.....no data on it.....just an x and y axis

Convert your Duration values to numerical equivalent using DUR2MINUTES. Chart the values in the converted column, as shown:
Chart 1: Result when cells containig duration values (column C) are selected and charted.
Chart 2: Result for same type of chanrt with same rows of column D are selected.
D2, and filled down: =DUR2MINUTES(C)

Hi Libby,
Select all three columns of data. All three must be 'regular' columns, not Header columns, and the X values must be in the leftmost column.
Click the Charts button and choose the Scatter chart.
The resulting chart will initially show only the first and second columns of data, and the selection will have been reduced to show this.
Click the gear icon at the top left of the selection and choose Share X Values.
You should see a result similar to this:
Notes:
The values on my sample table contain a random element, so they have changed from thhe first image to the second.
The chart is as created by Numbers, with two edits:
Data points have been connected with curves, using the Chart nspector.
The curves were selected and their stroke increased to 2pts, using the stroke formating button in the format bar.

How do I create a subaxis in DIAdem GRAPH using an autosequence?

I am creating graphs in DIAdem REPORT using an Autosequence (3 graphs and text). This is to prevent anyone from changing the format of the report, which is why I am not simply loading an existing layout. My question is how do you add a sub-axis to a 2d Axis system? I can tell the curves in the axis-system that they belong to subaxis 2, but the subaxis doesn't exist so the curve is not displayed.
How do I create the new subaxis?

Hi Jeff,
Unfortunately this is a gap in our function set for GRAPH objects. I have been told by the developers that there is no VBScript-level function to create a Y axis programmatically. Your only option as far as I know is to have several copies of the same report layout saved off with different numbers of Y axes. As you accurately pointed out, once the Y axis exists, you can programmatically associate various curves with it or edit its properties.

I have created using grand total by row summing and inserting that value in the Group By Function.

You have to put Daq Mx Create virtual channel.vi in a For loop. out side that u should give an array of virtual channel which ever you need to acquire. i am sending the vi in 7.0 too.

How do I create a formula to convert words to numbers?

Basically my spreadsheet is almost entirely words and as numbers (or excel for that matter) work with words (although this I have suggested as an improvement), I need to convert all the words to numerics.
For example. I have a question with a drop down asking for male or female (I've done drop down lists as I want to cross analyse the results at a later date). I need to create a formula so that numbers automatically counts up all the males and females and puts them in another overall table. I guess I do this by creating a formula for numbers to turn all 'males' into 1 and all 'females' into 2, then ask numbers to count up all the 1's and 2's and put them in a table?

I think this is what you want... made this in a few secs.
Library... Generators... Timecode.
Set the text properties for the Timecode text. Use a mono space text, Courier. Turned off background color if you wish.
Clone the Timecode layer (turn off the original Timecode layer)
Properties... Timing... Reverse.
As for the bar graph... There probably a right way to do this and I probably didn't do it right. I just made a bar graph with an outline and fill, duped it. The top bar graph with outline no fill, bottom bar graph fill no outline. Keyed the bottom bar graph to travel from right to left. Cloned the bar graph layer and placed a mask (revered) to cover the red bar as it traveled to the right. You can add tick marks with text to the bar graph.

I am using Report Builder for the first time. Here is what I am trying to accomplish. The data I plan to use in Report Builder is coming from SQL Server and in the Report Builder I want to create an interactive graph(chart).
For example, The table in SQL Server consists of Hospital Name, Measure name, and Scores for each measures for different quarters.
The idea is to create a graph that will allow the user to pick the measure name(from a drop down list or something similar) and Hospital name, then the graph will display the measure scores for different quarters and corresponding target scores for that
particular Hospital.
The data in SQL server looks like this :

I was able to create the parameters and now able to select the measure and facility and display that data in the table and chart.
Now I am trying to see if I can add a line(target values) on top of the column chart to show the whether the scores of each measures, for each quarters are how far from the target values.
Please let me know if this is possible.

Creating a chronological graph

I would like to create a graph, in Numbers, using dates and data, BUT dates are non-linear.
Example :
Sept. 1 2007 -> 72,4
Sept. 2 2007 -> 72,2
Sept. 3 2007 -> 72,1
Sept. 8 2007 -> 71
Sept. 11 2007 -> 73
The dates chosen are non linear : they are not equaly spaced. But if I create a graph with these dates, they will appear equaly spaced on the X axis.
How can I create a graph with those non-linear dates on the X axis?

Sorry, I think this is where the "cheese" comes in. I'm not sure there is a way to accommodate more than one month with solution (A). This is because of the way I used the pos column and abused the scatter plot's number format to make the x axis appear like a date.
Solution (B), being less of a hack, can handle multi-month/multi-year data. What do you dislike about (B)? Maybe we can address those issues instead. For instance, while it may not have been obvious from my screen shot, it isn't necessary to actually enter all the missing days. The ChartSource table containing the missing days is computed from the DataEntry table. It could be hidden away on another sheet. The only requirement of the ChartSource table is that it has enough rows for the complete range of dates.

How do I change the pie graph outline from black to white?

I have created a pie graph in Illustrator CS6 and cannot figure out how to change the outline stroke from black to white (this is my first time trying to create a pie graph in illustrator and did not find the answer to my question in any of illustrator's graph formatting instructions.)

You're welcome.
If you'd like to limit the outline to ONLY the silhouette of the entire graph, set the stroke to "NONE" then add new stroke in the Appearance Panel, using the flyout menu, and drag it below the "contents" in the Appearance list.
