You have to remove modify rights for those users on that page. Component basis is possible but will create ACL complications. Please check http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/current/developing/components/boilerplates.html for that.

When he creates DIR , He assigns value to these characteristics

No I want No other user to be able to change the values assigned to both CHAR1 and CHAR2.

I think the easiest way to find an authorization object which prevents users to edit characteristic values would be to made an authorization trace in transaction ST01. For further information please see the following link:

This trace lists all checked authorization objects and you should be able to identify a suitbale object for restricting edit permission for classification values.

I downloaded a movie to my Air, but it won't sync to my ipad2 and says it's not authorized. It's not a rental. Anyone else have this problem or know how to resolve?
I ended up having a one hour conversation with Apple Support which evolved to handing over control of my screen and then eventually having to use Terminal. I wish I could remember the command but it's probably best I don't.
One thing we looked at right away was the account name used to dowload the movie. Is it the same as the account name you have saved on your iPad. That's easy to check and would be great if that is all that's needed to correct. Good luck.

I am using iWeb '08 2.0.4 to create a web page...since I will not be able to publish to Mobileme I am trying to publish to another server...I keep getting this error message " Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING" I have no idea what to do???? Any Suggestions?
This is to do with the .htaccess file on your server.
You either need to deal with this and open it with an html editor or change your web host.
Do a search of this forum and there are plenty of posts that relate to parse error and .htaccess pages. Have a look on the right hand side of this post and you will see similar ones like yours. -
User should not have edit access in EAS
Hello Gurus,
My requirement is : I or my team mates are not supposed to have any access in EAS to make any changes to applications / databases on an Essbase server. i.e. I should only be able to view outline, see statistics, see if any sessions are running etc. I should not be able to copy application, create application, delete application, edit outlines etc.
Please let me know if there is a way to do it.

How do you disable tooltips in Pages?
Hello I have the following problem. Any time the mouse goes over a Pages document in the background, if the document has track changes enabled, the yellow semi-transparent messages that I guess are called tooltips and report the content of a change appear in the forefront even if I am using another program (e.g., Safari), and are extremely annoying. The only way to get rid of them is to give back focus to Pages and go back to the program I want to use. Question: is there any way to get rid of them? I am familiar with the way to solve the same problem in Safari, by changing a pllist entry, but I found no tooltips entry in the Pages plist file. Does anybody have any clue? I am enclosing a picture showing the problem, taken while I am writing this message in Safari. The small yellow window comes from Pages and should not be there blocking me to see what I want to see in Safari.

HI,
I have a red light in my headphone jack and I see "correct responses" listed as "when digital output is enabled speakers are disabled." That's all well and good but doens't really help. HOW do you disable the "digital output," get the red light to turn off and be able to hear through the speakers? What's the SOLUTION to the problem. Sorry, just a bit frustrated. Any help is greatly appreciated.

dpeast12Allegedly this can occur if there is a contaminant in the headphone jack that makes the computer believe there is an optical connection there, so it shuts off the internal speakers.
Try inserting and removing a headphone plug repeatedly. This ought to dislodge the junk, and seems to have fixed the problem for others. Hope it helps! -

While editing my webpage on Firefox, I clicked on the superscript editor and the font got larger and larger. I did not follow through and actually edit the page online, but I cannot get the page back to normal size on my computer -- only in firefox. Looks fine in other browsers.

Logon to EPM Workspace.
Open menu File > Preferences > Financial Reporting.
The new option, called "Disabled" is available for Query Ready Mode. If selected will disable Query Ready mode completely.
