How do I (easily) Create a Group E-mail List
First I want to say that I am not a dummy. I’m pretty tech savvy, but this issue has been making me crazy for a long time. I know that what I am about to describe be has to do (probably) with the fact Mail and Contacts work separately, unlike in Windows products. The whole point of me moving to the Mac from Windows was to make things easier.
I have tried to see if there’s an easy way to create a Group, but I can’t seem to find the handle on this. I repeat, I am not a tech dummy.
Here’s the issue: Every week I send out an e-mail to a group of friends. What I normally do (since I have not found an easier way) is to go to my Send folder, find the previous week’s email, copy all the addresses and paste into the new e-mail.
On all the Help Discussion topics I see in the Apple Forums (I’ve been to many), what it says is that you go to Contacts, Create a New Group, and then click and drag e-mail addresses into the new group. I get it, and I’ve done that for other groups. But this is different.
Is there not a way to simply copy all the addresses from the previous week’s email I sent and copy that into a Group? There are too many names for me to go one by one inside the Contacts app. Moreover, I don’t know all the contacts in the prior week’s list. I’d have to go back and forth between the prior week’s e-mail and my Contacts list, and check names and e-mails, and then drag into the Group.
Please Apple, there has to be an easier way.
Macbook Pro, OS X Mavericks.
I have this same issue. I have over 100 email addresses that I need to add to a group. The issue is not making the group, it's getting the email addresses from Mail to Contacts.
Dragging the email addresses does nothing. You can copy the addresses, but there's nowhere to put them. You can make a VCF for an email address, but then you have to find all of them to add them to the group. How do you automate this?!
I'm astounded that there's so little support for such a common issue for which people have been asking for years.

How do I create a group email mailing list?
Open Contacts - its in the Applications folder.
In the menu bar click File, and select New Group. In the left column of Contacts there will be a new item called untitled group. (You can change the name.)
Next click All Contacts on the left, and drag and drop the names you want in the new group.
To send an email to the group you start a new message and type the group name in the To: field. -
How to create a group in Mail?
I don't know how to add names to a group. Mail has a list of all people who have e-mailed me but I can't see it to move names onto the group I wish to create.
Note: if you add an email address to an Address Book member, and you do it by adding a second address called "home", and leave the first one "work" empty, smart mail box won't pick it up, and you'll wonder what's wrong. If the person has only one email address, make sure there is no empty email address item above it so the smart mailbox will find it.
Example: (wrong)
work Email
- home jsmith(a)nothere.com
Example: (correct)
- home jsmit(a)nothere.com
Also: Apple Mail lets your select "Sender is member of Group", to say "Family", but there are no HELP items in MAIL help that discuss or point you to the Address book to deal with groups.

How can I easily remove a group of photos from my iPad
how can I easily remove a group of photos from my iPad?
Iif the photos were synced to the iPad they can only be removed by connecting to iTunes on your computer, unselecting the photos folder that you synced to the iPad and then follow that with a sync.
IF the photos are in the camera roll, open the camera roll album, tap the as select button in the upper right corner, tap on each photo that you want to delete in order to select them and then tap the trash can icon. -

How can I easily create a playlist contain all the songs on my iPhone
How can I easily create a playlist containing all the songs on my phone? I have iOS 7.1.1. on the iPhone. Older versons of iOS had a one button operations to add all songs. iOS 7 does not seem to have this one button operation, which requires me to add songs individually. Considering I have over 1500 songs on my iPhone this takes a long to to do.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion. Use your backup copy of your computer to put everything on the new one.
If for some reason you have failed to backup, big mistake, then you can transfer itunes purchases from the iphone to the computer: File>Transfer Purchases
You may be able to buy a 3rd party program to get any other music off of the iphone ( not supported by Apple).
When you sync the iphone, it will erase the current content and replace with content form the new computer.
"Not happy with itunes right now, more then a bit of a joke"
Not itunes fault that you did not do the very basics and maintain a backup copy. -

The native mail app does not do groups. In the app store there are a handful of apps that do. Mail shot as an example.

In Share point 2013 how to add more than 2 group by in list
In Share point 2013 how to add more than 2 group by in list .
Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to group by on more than 2 columns in a List View in SharePoint 2013.
There is no out of the box way to achieve your scenario directly.
As a workaround, we can use the following method to achieve it.
First, we can insert Data View Web Parts in SharePoint Designer 2013.
It’s because the SharePoint Designer 2013 can’t support Design view, then the Data View Web Parts XSL cannot be visually manipulated.
You can refer to the following article to insert a Data View Web Part.
http://www.synergyonline.com/Blog/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=259
And then, you can use the following solution that can be used to
group by on more than 2 columns in a view
to implement it in SharePoint Designer 2013.

How to easily create contact groups from MacMail
Here's my dilemma: I want to create a group contact that consists of 27 individuals. The email addresses of these contacts are contained in one email that someone sent me. In order for me to put each contact into a group, I have to go through an exasperating number of steps which are
1) click on the email address, which brings me a drop down menu
2) select "Create Contact"
3) Go to Address Book and type in the name of that contact, then click save
4) Go to the menu to select the "View by Group"
5) Pull the contact into that group
In SnowLeopard, the Address Book allowed one to see in one window the groups, contacts, and new form, so that I didn't have to vascillate between the different views. Is there anything like that in Lion? If I have to do this for 27 new contacts, this is really going to wear out my patience! Thanks in any advance for any suggestions.Use Mail Scripts' Add Addresses script. It seems to work under Lion, but very slowly. I had to let it run several minutes before it put up the dialog to select addresses and add to a Group.

How do I create a group distribution email list with my contacts?
I have many contacts and need to create email distribution lists with my contacts. It is too difficult to choose each contact with every email. How do I create a group contact list with my contacts on iCloud?
Hello there, swcoxdpm.
The following Knowledge Base article provides information on creating Group Contacts in Mavericks on your Macbook Air:
Mail (Mavericks): Address messages
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14922
Use a group address
If you regularly send messages to the same group of people, you can save them as a group in Contacts, then use the group address to email them.
Group contacts
The steps to do that, are found here:
Contacts (Mavericks): Group contacts

I am new at websites and created a website on iweb. The website contains a roster of individuals with each person's e-mail address. I would like to create a link (I'm not sure if link is the proper term) so that someone going to the website who would like to send a group e-mail to everyone on the roster can do it by clicking on the link rather than having to copy and paste each person's e-mail. I can't figure out how to do this. Can you help me?
You can do this in iWeb, I believe...
Just make your link (text, graphic, or photo) and then select it. Open up the Inspector and click over to the Hyperlink tab. Check off the "Enable as Hyperlink" box. Link to "An Email Message". Then in the address field just enter each email address separated by a comma. Enter an email subject if you want. That should do it.
I don't know if iWeb has any limits on how many emails you can list, but I just tried it out with 4 emails and it put all four emails in the To: field of a new email.
Good luck! -
Group Id mailing list technique
How to use group id technique (from selection screen) for shooting the mails to respective mail ids after occurrence of some event . I have used the method for sending the mails to respective ids by maintaining a custom table for mail ids, but now i have the requirement to use group id on selection screen. Can anyone please suggest me on this?
I have puzzled over this a just figured out why ours weren't working.
Some background...In WGM, all users have a primary group and other groups. The primary group is stored with the user record in the LDAP directory, the "other groups" entries are stored in the Groups container in the directory as a Member list for each group.
For WGM to list all users in a particular group, it must display the Member list from the Group and then search the Users container for all users with that group as their primary group. (you've probably noticed in the WGM group lists, primary group member are in italic and "other" group members are not)
I have found that when you enable the mailing list for that group, /usr/sbin/mailgroupexpander is not searching the Users container in the LDAP directory for members who have that group as their primary group, thus if no one in your group has that as apart of "Other Groups" no members will be added to the list, or in the case where all the members are primary members, the list isn't created.
To remedy the issue, you must add the group to the "other groups" list for each user. Unfortunately, this will cause your groups lists to show every member twice, unless you change their primary group to a group where you don't need a mailing list. -
How prevent vacation to be send to external mailing lists?
Hello!
We have SunJES 2004Q2 installed.
Some users have subscribed to external mailinglists.
How could they prevent sending vacation mails into lists
if they enable vacation in web frontend?
So vacations should be send to all incoming mail senders except
mailing lists.
Have anybody an idea?
Thanks in advance.
ErikHello jay!
Thank you for your reply.
If the list is set up correctly, we will not send a vacation
reply to a list.Really?
How can I determine, if the list was set up correctly?
I mean, on which do you detect this?
Remember it is a external mailing list, not on our server.
Kindly regards,
Erik
