How do I export a script?

So I have a nice script all written and I want to export it to some format like FDX and put it in Dropbox so we can fan it out and run various support tools to make shot lists, schedules, etc. How do I do that?

It wasn't as simple as that. I was creating the script using the story.adobe.com website. There is no "File" menu. However, I found that if I right-clicked the Projects button, I got the option to install the Story desktop app and after doing that and signing in (and waiting a bit) I got access to my scripts on the website and at that point I could open, click the file menu, etc.
Maybe I'm the only person who finds this confusing and a bit round-about. But at least it can be done. Thanks.

  • How to i write a script that makes multiple selections in a pdf and exports them to excel?

    I have a large number of PDFs
    Not all the PDFs contain information we need. We want to be able to automate a script that extracts certain info from the PDFs and opens them in a certain format in excel.
    Acrobat allows me to make a single selection and export as excel.
    How do i export multiple parts to excel from the pdfs and ensure that the resulting excel is in a format that i can use without much fixing needed (e.g. merged cells)?

    This type of process can't really be done using JavaScript. You would need to read the contents of the file, word by word, decide (based on some logic) what data to extract, and then collect it and at the end export to a plain-text file. Not a simple process...

  • How can I export speech analysis text with imbedded timecodes for the creation of subtitle files?

    I found a script that allows you to export all your text layers with time codes as a .srt subtitle file. However, instead of multiple text layers, I have only one: essentially the meta data from Premiere speech analysis that with the aid of a different script, is being used at a "subtitle layer". Essentially, I'm trying to use this data to create a .srt file so I can create actual subtitles, not this hybrid animation/text layer.
    Here is the script I used to export the text layer to .srt:
    Subtitle Exporter v01
    Script by Philipp Grolle
    www.display-artists.de
    Instructions:
    Select all the Text Layers you want to export, run the script, and save the file as .srt
    Attention: The Script has not been debugged or testet. Try it on your own risk!
    // get all the selected Layers
    var theComp = app.project.activeItem;
    var alleLayer = theComp.selectedLayers;
    // count how many layers are selected
    var anzahlLayer = alleLayer.length;
    // Enable the line below if you want to change the order of your text (ascending / descending)
    /* alleLayer.reverse(); */
       // prompt to save file
       var theFile = File.saveDialog("Save the text file.", "untitled.txt", "TEXT txt");
       // if user didn't cancel...
       if (theFile != null) {
          // open file for "w"riting,
          theFile.open("w","TEXT","????");
             // Do it for all the selected Layers
             for (x = 0; x < anzahlLayer; x++)
                 // get In- and Outpoint of the current Layer and convert to timecode (00:00:00:00)
                var timecodeIn = timeToCurrentFormat(alleLayer[x].inPoint, 25);
                var timecodeOut = timeToCurrentFormat(alleLayer[x].outPoint, 25);
               // split the value of the inPoint; converting last 2 characters  (frames) to milliseconds, and finally join it again with comma instead of colon
                var str_in= timecodeIn;
                var timeCodeAnfang_in=str_in.slice(0,8);
                var timeCodeEnde_in=str_in.slice(9,11);
                var millisek_in = timeCodeEnde_in*40; // 1000 milliseconds divided by 25 fps = 40
                var zusammen_in = timeCodeAnfang_in +"," + millisek_in;
                //split the value of the outPoint; converting last 2 characters  (frames) to milliseconds, and finally join it again with comma instead of colon
                var str_out= timecodeOut;
                var timeCodeAnfang_out=str_out.slice(0,8);
                var timeCodeEnde_out=str_out.slice(9,11);
                var millisek_out = timeCodeEnde_out*40;
                var zusammen_out = timeCodeAnfang_out +"," + millisek_out;
                //counter for the number above the timecode (in the results)
                var zaehler = x+1;
                //writing the results to file
                theFile.write(zaehler);
                theFile.write("\r\n");
                theFile.write(zusammen_in);
                theFile.write(" --> ");
                theFile.write(zusammen_out);
                theFile.write("\r\n");
                theFile.write(alleLayer[x].property("Source Text").value);
                theFile.write("\r\n\n");
          // close the text file
          theFile.close();
          // open text file in default app
          theFile.execute();
    As I am only using one text layer, it shows me only one continious subtitle in the .srt file. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    I should add that I myself am not particularly familiar with scripts or scripting, I'm merely trying all possible solutions to my problem and this seems to be a good approach. Any help would be much appreciated.

  • (How can we) Export FXG from Flash Professional using JSFL

    How can we export a selection from Flash Professional as .FXG using JSFL? It appears that this is not possible... just yet! I have added this as a feature request within the Adobe Labs site for Flash Professional. Someone at Adobe suggested that I also explore the forums, so here we are. If you would also like to have this feature added, please let Adobe know by promoting the idea.
    Our use case is this: we have a large Flash file with a library of over one thousand skins and assets that were built in Flash with Adobe's Flex Skins Templates. These stateful, graphical skins were used within a custom theme by several Flex 3 projects. Our ultimate goal is to bring these through Catalyst, maintaining their vectors, and use them to create Spark skins.
    We've got a JSFL that can export each linked library asset, as well as any frame-labeled 'state' within these clips. However, currently we are using exportPNG, which is not ideal as it flattens our vector art into raster images. We are about to try the exportSWF option, and see what Flash Catalyst does with this. Our early attemps with importing swf's haven't been too amazing.
    I'm starting to imagine some cross-product scripting in which we export symbols at a state-by-state level as .swf from Flash, then rebuild these onto layers in Illustrator, and THEN import these into Catalyst...yikes!
    Anyone have a better solution?

    Follow-up:
    Out of pure wishful thinking I decided I would just see what happened if I pretended 'exportFXG' was already a part of JSFL. Based on the signature of 'exportPNG', i tried the following lines:
      var success = fl.getDocumentDOM().exportFXG("file:///C:/mySymbol.fxg");
      fl.trace("success:"+success); // output: success:true
    It worked! Fantastic! I'm not sure if exportFXG is considered still in "beta" and therefore intentionally excluded from the docs, or if it was just an oversight. But at least it gives us something to experiment with.

  • How can I export a document in IDML using VBScript

    How can I export an InDesign document in an IDML format using a VBScript ?
    If my InDesign Server instance is running, is it possible to run this script programatically (without using InDesign panel manually) ?
    Thank you.

    Hi Harbs,
    VBScript enums are a little bit different, and VBScript uses export, not exportFile (and no parentheses or semicolon). At a guess, this one is probably:
    Rem Given a reference to a document "myDoc" and a file myFileObj...
    myDoc.export idExportFormat.idInDesignMarkup, myFileObj
    But you might need to use the raw version of the enum:
    myDoc.export 1768189292, myFileObj
    Thanks,
    Ole

  • IMPORT / EXPORT IN SCRIPTS

    Hi all.
    i have an issue in the scripts.
    is ir possible to use Import / export in scripts.
    If it is possible ,then how.
    can any body help me to solve this issue.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    Use Report RSTXSCRP allows SAPscript objects (standard texts, styles, forms
    or device types to be transported between R/3 and a local or central
    file.
    Note: Texts, styles, and forms are client-specific! For export they are
    always read from the current client and for import they are always read
    to the current client. Device types are not client-specific so the
    current client is not significant in the export/import of printer
    definitions.
    Parameters to be specified:
    The radio buttons Device type/Form/Style/Standard text select the
    transport object to be imported or exported.
    Object name:  Name of the standard text, style, form, or device type.
    Mode: Export means download to file, IMPORT means upload from file.
    File system: Allows you to choose whether the file is read/written
    locally (GUI file system) or on the application server (default
    setting).
    Reward Points if it is Useful.
    Thanks,

    I want to know how to create a new script that can be run in batch proces in Photoshop Element 11 ?

    Have a look at the menu file/process multiple files. You can choose to add your signature (or the caption) to the image and export the new files.
    If that solution is not flexible enough, consider using the very affordable (12$)  Elements+ add-on which offers a 'meta stamp' script :
    http://elementsplus.net/v5/en/meta-stamp.htm
    Otherwise, have a look at other free and good solutions like Faststone Photoresizer, Xnview...

    I've exported ant script from workshop (wls9.2 eclipse) and I was able to build the app.war (web services) ok.

    It looks a bug to me. The exported ant script does not take care the jar files setup in the classpath in workshop/eclipes and copy them to the WEB-INFO/lib directory.

  • How can I export the number of pixels of each layer into an excel file?

    I would like to export the number of pixels that each layer of an image contains into excel. How can I do this?
    Secondly, as I need to do this with several images, is there any way to name the layers so that all layers with let's say for example the name "yellow" appear in the same column in excel?
    Some background information on why I need to do this... I would like to know how many percent of an image are yellow and have therefore created  layers of one image for each color it contains.
    Thanks for your help!!!

    Maybe my question was a bit unclear. I do not want to find out the number of pixels of a color in a layer but the number of pixels of the complete layer.
    What color these layers are is a different question. I am using images with a very limited range of colors (sort of like the image above but with about 10 colors). I have seperated these colors into layers and now need to count the pixels of each layer and export them.
    You can record number of pixels/layer  into the Measurement Log, then export data to Excel. But I'm not sure how to automate that without scripting.
    Does anyone know how to do this?
    For normal artLayers it is somewhat easy to get the number of pixels in the layer. But that is just how many pixels are in the layer.
    But that is exactly what I need to know, how many pixels are in the layer. I know how to find this out by looking at the histogram of the selection. But I want to export this information of all layers at once into an excel or text file. Any ideas on how to automate this with or without scripting?

  • Exporting action script in 2nd frame

    I have a preloader in frame one so I export frame for classes
    in frame two in the publishing settings. I have a scrolling
    component in the .fla and when I set up the linkage for the
    scrollable movie clip, it exports into the 1st frame. How do I tell
    Flash to export action script for component in 2nd frame? Because
    of the conflict with the publishing settings set at frame 2, the
    scroll bar won't work unless I publish export action script into
    frame one.
    Please help,
    Darryl

    Thank you for replying. I was instructed that it is better to
    have the action script load in the second frame if my preloader is
    in the first frame in order for the page to cache faster on the
    users PC. So in the Publish Settings, in the Flash Tab under
    Settings, I was informed to "export frame for classes in "2".
    The action script for the compenent in the Library only gives
    me the choice of it exporting in frame 1. And because they do not
    correspond, the scroll bar will not appear unless I change the
    Publish settings to export in frame 1 and I will get this error
    message Error opening URL
    "file:///D|/Flash%20Studio%208/nams/scroll".
    My goal was to increase the download speed of the Flash page.
    Is there a way to get the compenent Action script to export in
    Frame 2? The only option box through the Library Linkage is Frame
    1.
    Thank you again for responding,
    Darryl

  • Batch Process Export Layers Script

    I know how to break down a layered file using the Export Layers Script, and it works pretty well for me.  What I want to know is if there is a way to create an action using this script, that I can apply to multiple files and batch process in Bridge?  I have created an action that in theory should work, but I keep getting stop errors when I actually run it.  Has anyone successfully created an action that can export out multiple layers of multiple files?

    Joyce,
    Thank you.  Your suggestion helped clear my mental log jam.
    Fireworks batch scripting seems to work in reverse.
    Using "Batch Process..." scripting interface 'Export' (as JPEG) option first, 'Rename' (add Prefix) option second, and then follow these by using the history panel's 2 previously saved steps (Numeric Transform, Fit Canvas), batch process now works.  PNG file (list) is saved in targeted folder as a reduced scale JPEG with a prefixed file name.
    Batch Process allows the entire newly defined command sequence to be saved (script.js).  Placing this (renamed) file into Firework's batch look-up directory for scripts (C:\Documents and Settings\account_name\Application Data\Adobe\Fireworks CS4\Commands) does not work.  The file name does not display in "Batch Process" window "Batch options:" Commands drop-down list.
    Batch Process only works by recreating the above steps each use.
    The new (JavaScript) file is 26 KB.  Is script file size limited in Fireworks "Batch options:" feature?

  • Export MaxL Script to Shared Services

    Version 9.3.1
    A little background:
    I saved the MaxL script with one user and I want it to be available to all users. I figured if I exported it to Shared Services there might be something I could do with it there to accomplish this task.
    So I saved a script to the admin server. Then I right-clicked on it and exported it to shared services. So... now what? How do I find what I just exported? How do I use what I just exported?
    I've read this on working with models:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E10530_01/doc/epm.931/html_esb_dbag/frameset.htm?hbmodprp.htm#hbmodprp606577
    Thanks

    I restarted my services and then I was able to right click on the Administration Server and "Browse Shared Services." A new window opened up and I was able to navigate to my exported MaxL script. I then changed access so that other users could have access to it.
    However, when they go to EAS they can't see the object on the Administration Server.
    Is this because what's in Shared Services is a model and not the actual script. Does this mean that the users that I granted access to are able to see it in shared services?

  • How can I export email addresses from apple mail?

    How can I export email addresses from Apple Mail?
    Just to be CRISTAL CLEAR please don't reply with export instructions from the address book.....not interested in this.
    I have customers that fill-out a request form online, then the data is sent to our database on our server, and another copy is sent to my email account. The server database got corrupted and is now lost. The only data left are in my email app called APPLE MAIL. I have created Filtered Folders so the data is just in one Folder, not mixed with all other emails. Is there a way to export the email names & addresses from APPLE  MAIL to a CVS file or Excel file?
    Again this is not a question related to Apple Address Book. This is ONLY for Apple MAIL exporting!
    Thanks

    There is a collection of AppleScripts called Mail Scripts you can download at this link.
    http://homepage.mac.com/aamann/Mail_Scripts.html
    The script to use from the collection of scripts is Add Addresses (Mail) which adds addresses found in the selected messages (in the header fields "From", "To", "Cc", and "Bcc") to the Address Book. This is much more flexible than the "Add Sender to Address Book" available in Mail and provides a convenient way for creating mailing lists.
