  • Parse SQL: How to extract column names, table names from a SQL query

    Hi all,
    I have a requirement wherein a SQL query will be given in a text file.
    The text file has to be read (probably using text_io package), the SQL query needs to be parsed and the column names, table names and where clauses have to be extracted and inserted into separate tables.
    Is there a way to do it using PL/SQL ?
    Is there a PL/SQL script available to parse and extract column names, table names etc ?
    Pls help.
    Regards,
    Sam

    I think I jumped to conclusion too early saying it is completely possible and straight forward. But after reading through your post for one more time I realised you are not interested only in the column_names, also the table_names and the predicates .
    >
    SQL query needs to be parsed and the column names

    The above is possible and straight forward using the dbms_sql package.
    I am pasting the same information as I did in the other forum.
    Check this link and search for Example 8 and .
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/appdev.102/b14258/d_sql.htm#sthref6136
    Also check the working example from asktom

    Now this is the tricky bit. You can extract the list of tables by getting the sql_id from v$sql and joining it with v$sql_plan. But sometimes you may not get all the results because the optimizer may choose to refine your query (check this link)
    http://optimizermagic.blogspot.com/2008/06/why-are-some-of-tables-in-my-query.html
    and you can get the predicate information from the same table v$sql_plan but I will leave that area for you to do some R&D.

  • Reg:How to delete the column in table control also from database table.

    Hi Experts,
    Once again thank u all for giving the responses.
    one more doubt is how to delete the columns of table control and also the record shold delete from ztable.
    With Regards,
    Saroja.P.

    Hi,
    If you want to delete the rows in the table control and simultaneously delete it from the database table, then you can implement a 'DELETE' functionality specific to your table control. Have a MARK field (you will find that in the screen attributes of the table control -> give a name for the MARK field, you will find an additional MARK column at the beginning of your table control). You can check whatever rows you want to delete from the table control, call the delete module.
    "This portion of code inside the LOOP...ENDLOOP.
    IF sy-ucomm eq 'F_DELETE'.
       gt_itab2-check = mark.  " Store the MARK field status into your internal table's correspoding field 'check'
      MODIFY gt_itab INDEX tabcontrol-current_line.
    ENDIF.
    iF sy-ucomm eq 'DELETE1'.
      DELETE gt_itab WHERE check eq 'X'. "Your internal table does not have rows that you want to delete
    ENDIF.
    Now you can modify your database table using the MODIFY statement.
    MODIFY ZDB FROM TABLE gt_itab.

    Hi,
    If your question is for copying data from 1 int table to other ;
    we can use
    APPEND LINES OF it_1 TO it_2.
    or if they have different columns then:
    loop at it_1 into wa_it1.
    move wa_it1-data to wa_it2-d1.
    apped wa_it2 to it_2.
    clear wa_it2.
    endloop.

  • XML Column from table extract to Pipe Delimited Text File

    Hi,
    I have an XML column with large data in a Table ( Source SQL server Database).
    I was asked to   extract    XML column to .txt file using SSIS.
    Is it possible to extract xml column with huge data to text file ?
    when I tried,  select XML column from Table in source , I noticed  that Property of column is taken as [DT_NTEXT] . I Converted it to DT_TEXT as Ansi donot support DT_NTEXT.
    Execution method was success but it failed due to trucation. so wondering is there a way to get XML column extracted to Pipe delimited text file?
    Is it advisable to do this ? or IS It Valid to export XML in Pipe Delimited File ?
    Please Kindly advice
    thanks
    kodi

    Are you looking at shredding data within XML nodes and then importing it to text file or are you looking at exporting XML value as is? Also is SSIS a necessity?
    If not, You can simply use T-SQL for this along with bcp for this. just use a query like
    EXEC xp_cmdshell 'bcp "SELECT CAST(XMLColumn AS varchar(max)) AS Column FROM table" queryout <full file path> -c -S <ServerName> -T -t |'
    provided you use trusted connection (windows authentication)
    see
    http://visakhm.blogspot.in/2013/10/bcp-out-custom-format-data-to-flat-file.html
    If you want to shred the data use Xpath functions in the query as below

    newbie v

    You can not 'change' the ownership.
    You can, however, 'move' or 'clone' most objects by exporting and importing. As follows:
    I create a table under SYS (shudder).
    I then export it
    - using userid SYS in this case,
    - under normal circumstances I'd either use a DBA account or the owner's userid
    - since I want a table, I use the TABLES option - a list is comma separated and in quotes
    I then import it using a 'userid' switch - fromuser & touser options
    - in this case from SYS to HR
    Finally, I verify it was transported.

    Hi Shankar.
    HR Datasources do not have setup tables . Though before implementation, certain customizations should be done and the delta loads have dependency on other data sources. Also you must have implemented Support Package SAPKH46C32, or have made the relevant corrections in SAP Note 509592.
    Follow this link for details on customization and dependencies for all CATS datasources.

    Hi Everyone
    Could anyone let me know how to make a column in table popin read only.
    Regards

    if you ar eusing an ALV table
    try this
      DATA: lr_salv_wd_table TYPE REF TO iwci_salv_wd_table,
            r_table TYPE REF TO CL_SALV_WD_CONFIG_TABLE.
    * get reference to ALV component interface
      lr_salv_wd_table = wd_this->wd_cpifc_alvmain( ).
    * get ConfigurationModel from ALV Component
      wd_this->r_table = lr_salv_wd_table->get_model( ).
    * init ColumnSettings
      DATA: lr_column_settings TYPE REF TO if_salv_wd_column_settings,
            lr_col_header TYPE REF TO cl_salv_wd_column_header.
      lr_column_settings ?= wd_this->r_table.
    * get table of column settings - each line one column
      DATA: lt_columns TYPE salv_wd_t_column_ref.
      lt_columns = lr_column_settings->get_columns( ).
    * loop over table - in each loop another column can be modified
      DATA: ls_column TYPE salv_wd_s_column_ref.
    * define visible columns (fields) by naming them,
    * exclude others by setting visibility to none
      DATA: ls_tooltip TYPE string.
      LOOP AT lt_columns INTO ls_column.
        " get header of column
        lr_col_header = ls_column-r_column->get_header( ).
        " do settings here

  • How to retrieve multiple data from table and represent it in jsp page

    Hi
    The below JavaScript code is used to add row in the table when I want to add multiple row data into table for single entry no field.
      <html>  function addRow()
                i++;
                var newRow = document.all("tblGrid").insertRow();
                var oCell = newRow.insertCell();
                oCell.innerHTML = "<input name='srno"+i+"' type='text' id='srno"+i+"' size=10>";
                oCell = newRow.insertCell();
                oCell.innerHTML = "<input name='itmcd"+i+"' type='text' id='itmcd"+i+"' size='10'>";
                oCell = newRow.insertCell();
                oCell.innerHTML = "<input name='itmnm"+i+"' type='text' id='itmnm"+i+"' size='15'>";
                oCell = newRow.insertCell();
                oCell.innerHTML = "<input name='indentqty"+i+"' type='text' id='indentqty"+i+"' size='10'>";
                oCell = newRow.insertCell();
                    oCell.innerHTML = "<input name='uom"+i+"' type='text' id='uom"+i+"' size='10'><input type='hidden' name='mcode"+i+"'id='mcode"+i+"'>";
                oCell = newRow.insertCell();
                oCell.innerHTML = "<input name='packqty"+i+"' type='text' id='packqty"+i+"' size='10'>";
                oCell = newRow.insertCell();
                oCell.innerHTML = "<input name='packuom"+i+"' type='text' id='packuom"+i+"' size='10'><input type='hidden' name='pack"+i+"' id='pack"+i+"'>";
                oCell = newRow.insertCell();
                oCell.innerHTML = "<input name='rate"+i+"' type='text' id='rate"+i+"' size='10'>";
                oCell = newRow.insertCell();
                oCell.innerHTML = "<input name='dor"+i+"' type='text' id='dor"+i+"' size='0' onClick='"+putdate(this.name)+"'>";
                oCell = newRow.insertCell();
                oCell.innerHTML = "<input name='bccode"+i+"' type='text' id='bccode"+i+"' size='10'></td><input type='hidden' name='bcc"+i+"' id='bcc"+i+"'>";
                oCell = newRow.insertCell();
                oCell.innerHTML = "<input name='cccode"+i+"' type='text' id='cccode"+i+"' size='10'></td><input type='hidden' name='ccc"+i+"' id='ccc"+i+"'>";
                oCell = newRow.insertCell();
                oCell.innerHTML = "<input name='remark2"+i+"' type='text' id='remark2"+i+"' size='20'>";
                oCell = newRow.insertCell();
                oCell.innerHTML = "<input type='button' value='Delete' onclick='removeRow(this);' />";
               // oCell = newRow.insertCell();
               // oCell.innerHTML = "<input type='button' value='Clear' onclick='clearRow(this);' />";
            }<html>  Then this data are send to the next Servlet for adding into two table.
    My header portion data are added into one table which added only one row in table. while footer section data are added into the no of rows in another table dependent on No. of
    Rows added into jsp page.
    Here is an code for that logic.

    Too much code. It's also not well intented nor formatted. I don't see a question either or it got lost in that heap of unformatted code.
    I will only answer the question in the thread's subject:
    How to retrieve multiple data from table and represent it in jsp pageTo retrieve, make use of HttpServletRequest#getParameterValues() and/or #getParameter().
    To display, make use of JSTL's c:forEach.

  • How to add a column in table control

    Hi ,
       Can any one tell me how to add a column in table control? My requirement is to add two columns ( custom fields ) into table control ( It is a standard program). I have added the column in the table and also in the table control. But when I am running the standard program, The newly added column is not there. But I have added in the perticular screen. Change is not reflected.
       Can anyone help me on this please.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Lakshmi.

    Hi,
    Ensure the following :
    1. After adjusting the database, you`ll have to use the database utility and activate the table.
    2. If you have changed the standard screen, in tcode se80 -- right click on the program and click activate all. This activates all objects related to that program.
    Now execute the program.
    Reward if helpful.

    Maintenance Attributes
    You can assign a maintenance attribute P to individual fields in the maintenance view definition in the Dictionary (SE11). It can be  H (hidden)
    H (hidden)
    A field flagged H is not displayed on the screen. This field must also be filled in the background by a routine at an event.
    The system writes R and H fields to the database like all other fields when a new data record is saved.
