How do I find the root cause of a NetConnection closed event?
Hi,
I am maintaining a large project developed in Flex/Actionscript.
The application is using tunneling (RTMPT), and we often get Netconnection "closed" events.
There is no problem with the physical network.
I think the event may be caused by either a TCP/HTTP/RTMP event, or may be caused by
some function in the client calling close() on the connection.
How can I find the root cause of the "closed" event being thrown?
Thanks,
David
Thanks for the information. It is helpful but it seems there must be a specification of
what the client side is expecting, independent of any server implementation.
When I say client side, I mean the Adobe communication libraries.
Where is the specification or source code for how the client libraries treat HTTP tunneled requests and responses?
One question in particular: How does the client side library treat a
Connection: Keep-Alive
versuse
Connection:close
HTTP header setting?

To cancel logs in SM35 and find the root cause
Hi,
The role "PM****" is creating lot of sessions with the same session name and each session has hundreds of logs everyday in SM35. The logs is all about scheduling maintenance plans. There are hundreds of maintenance plans scheduling logs everyday. Can anyone help me how to find the root cause for this problem and stop the logs being generated in SM35?Hi,
When you schedule RISTRA20 (transaction IP30) there are options for 'log control', check these and decide what level of logging you require.

Need help in finding the root cause the error 'Could not find function:'
Hi fokls,
In my workflow notification , when I click on the notification to process it , it says ' 'Could not find function:' error.
I found the this message is coming out from the Fnd_new_messages table from the message_name 'FND_FUNCTION_NOT_FOUND'.
Here are my questions ...
1. FND_FUNCTION_NOT_FOUND - Is it a oracle Seeded message ?
2. If so the error I am getting is a oracle product Bug ?
And In between , I am getting this error for few transaction only. ( out of 100 , i am getting this error at the rate of 5 per 100 ... or less)
3 .If its a oracle product bug then , how is 95 out of 100 transaction are succssfully wokring ?
4. If is a custom bug , how it os not though for some other 95 transaction ?
5. Can I expect it as Data issue ? If so what kind of data issue.
Folks , any kind of info will be really , realy helpful for me ... please let me know your inputs for me.
Thansk to all in advance
RaghuIn the error message 'Could not find function:' after colon what function name it is giving.
'FND_FUNCTION_NOT_FOUND' is a seeded message only.
As you are saying the error was throwing only for 5% or less notifications, is the error throwing for same kind of notifications? I mean the item type and message are same for these erroneous notifications?
It can be that some function in particular type of workflow is error-ed out does not exists, when responding to those kind of notifications it might be throwing error.
Please check that.

Massive problems but I cannot find the root cause.
recently was experiencing some critical errrors in Windows XP Pro on my newly configured system which consists of an Athlon 2000+. MSI KT3 Ultra2 , 512 pc2700 by Micron, MSI ti4200 , 350watt Antec PS.
At first I thought it was a PS problem so I pulled out the one that was in it and put in the Antec 350watt PSU, it crashed a few times and I got
a few "memory Dump" critical errors so then I ran Windows XP check disk as well as Western Digital's disk checking tools (BTW its an 80gb SE) neither one found a problem..
.....then I began to think that maybe my OC 1700+ was the problem so I pulled it out and installed a 2000+ and ran it at stock 133fsb...the problem was still there.
Next I ran memtest for 12 hours straight....no errors.
Finally I resorted to reinstalling to OS, I reformatted the drive and did so....right after the format I got a BSOD, then I got THIS.
I give up.....what else could be going on?Well ram does make a lot of difference, especial DDR, they are hard.....
Not all ram works fine on all boards.....
Like I said, I have tried a lot of Micron, none worked ok, never.....
Allway's problems somewhere.....
I like Samsung, Infineon or Hyunday....
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
No offense but you are way off that on that one...perhaps this is your experience but I can
assure you that it was pure conincidence.
That is like saying that Chevron 92 octane unleaded works better in a Buick then it does a Pontiac and
Texaco 92 octane fuel works better in a Pontiac
then it does a Buick.
Ram is ram , my 2 sticks of Micron PC2700 run at with the ram timings cranked to gills and at 155mhz system
fsb....the ram is good no matter what. If it wont go
that fast on the MSI then the board is to blame.
Funny , even MSI claims the board was made for overclocking but make sure you components can handle it. ha ha , not today MSI!
But then again, I never use any other then SPD settings and no High-performance-settings.....
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.
Welp to each his own however even my pure reliability systems are overclocked hard for testing when I first
get them set up because if they run well OCed then they
are going to run wonderfully at stock speeds.
Also, don't overclock untill you know where it goes wrong....
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The problem is that the board is a pile of crap...perhaps mine is just a poor example though. -
Help Identify the root cause of this error
Hi,
We have a dynamic region in a jsf page. Its value (bounded task flow) depends on the menu item being selected. Each bounded task flow has some task flows and fragments within. In production, users get this below error rarely. This error is not reproducable, but comes rarely like 1 out of 200 times. The error from the log:

I tried everything, but not able to find the root cause of the error. Kindly help.
Edited by: Kartick on May 16, 2013 8:06 PMHi,
your code uses the following bean
#{sessionScope.userBean.userLocale}
to set a locale. This returns NULL and as such JSF does seem to have a problem to query the Home.jsf page, not creating the ADF binding context because of a missing UI View Root. So the question is : why is the userLocale "null" randomly. I would think that once you figure this out, you get a solution. A solution would be to change the getUserLocale() method in this bean to return a default user locale if the usre specific locale cannot be determined or is set to null.

How do i find what is causing the spinning colorwheel
How do I find the cause of the spinning color wheel and correct it ?
While you are using Activity Monitor look at System Memory as well: Using Activity Monitor to read System Memory and determine how much RAM is being used
If there is little or no "green" then your system will be burdened by having to constantly offload memory to disk. This would also explain frequent appearance of the "wait cursor". -
HT201240 how can I find the su - root password on my mac?
how can I find the su - root password on my mac?
Chances are you could have also done
sudo su -
which would now make you 'root' until you exit. You could do all your setup running as root.
Very few if anything actually needs the root password to use root privileges, and having a system where root cannot be directly logged into, is a safer system. -
How to detect the root cause of XML encoding problem ?
Hi,
I need to identify the exactly root cause of error when parssing a XML ( ISO-8859-1 encoding) problem.
How can I do this using JAVA ?
regards
ICPHi dekassegui,
Thanks for your response
The error is an error from Oracle HTTP adapter servlet. The message error is : "oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLParseException"
My intention is to verify the data before thats receieved by the adapter and the servlet.
I did my own servlet extending the orgirinal servlet to show and log the entire received content. The content looks "OK".
Now I would like to check a possible special character or symbol unsupported by enconding.
The Input data is aware of my control. But if the error could be detected, message senders will correct this.
My major problem is to ensure what is the root cause of the error.

How to find the route cause of the issue in one Z-transaction
Hi,
I am analysing one Z-transaction is created by one standard program RHU_HELP and the Z-transaction is ZHOMO03.
In that transaction one parameter field is P_BATCH.
If parameter P_BATCH is blanks then no records showing in the output but if I give the value 0* then it gives the ALV output.
So Itried to debug the program RHU_HELP, but there is no ALV function module REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY.
I tried to find the final internal table where the ALV output getting displayed but not getting.
Can anyone give the idea to find the route cause of the issue.
Waiting for quick response.
Best Regards,
BDPHi
What is the output format. It is ALV output you are getting. If not ALV function module is not used.
There migh be some class function module it might have used. Please check is the below function module
called
FM : SET_TABLE_FOR_FIRST_DISPLAY.

Is this info missing because I am running OEL in a virtual machine ?Oracle Linux behaves exactly like Red Hat in this matter an /proc/cpuinfo can be used for that. I guess this is because you have set up VirtualBox to only assign one virtual CPU to your guest Linux.

How to check/find the size of current ROLLBACK segment in oracle 10g
How to check/find the size of current ROLLBACK segment in oracle 10g ? Kindly help
A rollback segment name like "_SYSSMU231$" is used when you have Automatic Undo Management enabled.
The only relevant parameters are :
1. UNDO_MANAGEMENT=AUTO
2. UNDO_RETENTION=n minutes ==> this is what everyone should be interested in
3. The sizes of the Undo Tablespace datafiles and whether AUTOEXTEND is ON or OFF
No one should be interested in the size of a single undo segment when Automatic Undo Management is enabled.
Possible causes of ORA-01555 errors in Automatic Undo Management
a. UNDO_RETENTION is too low
b. Undo tablespace is too small

If I do an Aperture Web Page published to Mobile Me (not the Mobile Me Web Gallery feature - I'm talking about the web page from within Aperture, with "Stock" themes etc), how do I find the URL later? If I don't "Visit site now" upon publication and make a note of the URL, I don't know how to retrieve it later. Thanks!
It's usually the service.mac.com/yourusername
so .mac galleries are gallery.mac.com/username, web pages are web.mac.com/username
When you click visit site now, just write down the root name, it will be something.mac.com/something -
How could I find the SQL statement who get this message ?
ORA-01555 caused by SQL statement below (Query Duration=11191 sec, SCN: 0x0854.723b9c32)
... How could I find the SQL statement who got this message ?
Thanks, PaulORA-01555 means that the UNDO/ROLLBACK space is not large enough.
This occurs because the SELECT statement is attempting to read the UNDO, but the UNDO has been released (transactions have committed or rolled back) and reused.
The following are SOME of the reasons I have seen this to occur:
1) Updates in a loop, with commits happening in the same loop
- this will mark the UNDO available quickly and quickly reuse it. Then when the SELECT wants to rebuild a block, the UNDO used to rebuild the block has been reused (solution, make the UNDO bigger)
2) A SELECT cursor used to control a loop in which updates are performed, and a 'done' flag is marked against the current cursor record, and commits are performed at the end of each loop, prior to fetching the next record
- same problem as above, but it hits the current process. Same solution
3) A 'month end' activity spike occurs, and all sorts of transactions create updates. There is a report that reports the activity - amusingly it needs to start at the beginning of all the work and updates periodically by doing a huge SELECT up front. This is then used to drive a loop which attempts to get information from the various transactions that have been updated and committed. After a while, the SELECT gets an ORA-01555
- same problem as above and same solution. Get a bigger UNDO segment.
You say this only happens once a month. That should give a hint.
I wouldn't bother with which SELECT statement, as much as which APPLICATIONs are being run when it happens.
One way around this - use 10g and set the guaranteed retention period. All sorts of other things will break, by no more 1555. <g> -
