How do I get indexed??

I know there is a lot of info on this question, but it just doesn't make sense to me. I've created and published a website using iweb. I purchased a domain name through yahoo and set it to link to the iweb page. I used iweb because I don't know a lot of technical stuff about computers. Google suggests I put a big long tag on my pages before the "body" section. What the heck does that mean?? The site is very basic:

Every time I start reading through online advice I very quickly run into stuff that's over my head. I've registered with Google (though some say it makes no difference) and I've got a few links from other sites to the new website. I published about 2 weeks ago still not indexed. Right now I really don't care about rank, I just want the thing to show up when someone types in the exact name of the site.
I would really appreciate some advice in plain english. Thanks

It does take a while but when I put mcleodorchards in Google it came up with sites with references to your site so people will be able to to find you. Nice site by the way.

thanks.I think your are unable to retrive the data even .pag files existed in application folder rite? this is what are you trying to say?
If yes,take level 0 data as backup..and calculate the database using Calcall (Based on your requirement).
It will recreate new index files when you recalculate whole database.

A hurdle :-
I have a application which has been developed in ASP .NET, Version 4.0. Help link has been created in this application wherein here the Start up page of index.htm has been linked to be read from the RoboHelp local project folder\!SSL!\Multiscreen_HTML5\desktop. All are working absolutely fine except when
I login into the above-said application -> click on the Help page -> the index.htm opens with Contents, Index, Glossary -> Am able to successfully perform any task by respective clickings
-> But I am not able to get back into my application when I click on the IE provided Back button (Alt+Left) -> Any amount of invoking Back button makes the system getting looped into this Start up page of index.htm only -> When I Close Tab (Ctrl + W) or Close ( X ) -> The window session gets closed and I have to repeat all by relogin once again.
How can I get back into my application aftermath invoking Start up page of index.htm ?
(I can always get back into the application easily by erasing those parts in the url which refers to this RoboHelp linkages – but this certainly looks non-polished work)

Hey Jeff, I used Internet Explorer 10.0.9200 and Google Chrome 26.0.1410. Alas - it is the same behavior.
(But Jeff : When I used Microsoft HTML Help as primary layout to generate chm file , My Help when launched from my Application opened in a new browser window and when I closed this Help browser window did not close my application. Looks like need to write few liner code to get this issue settled )

The handle to the Step.Button1Label gets you the data, but there are several ways to get it into the actual report.
The easiest is to use the reporttext.
In a post expression, you can use something like
Step.Result.ReportText = Evaluate("Step.Button" + Str(Step.Result.ButtonHit) +"Label")
and then the default report generation will include it in the report. Otherwise, you need to get the text into the Resultlist by various means (check the user manual, or the TestStand II customisation course) and handle the report generation yourself inside of the appropriate sequence in the process model.

I can't open a file on Pages'09 4.1 I get window that says "The required index.xml file is missing." How do I get this file open?

I have a file that I havel been adding to for years. I opened it a week ago but today I tried and I got the window message
"the required index.xml file is missing" How do I get this to open?
I have Pages '09 4.1 Not sure when that was put on or updated.

Are you sure you haven't upgraded Pages on your Mac to Pages 5?
Check your Applications folder and the Applications/iWork folder. You may have 2 versions on your Mac.

How can you get an applet to obey the CSS z-index attribute?
I have a DHMTL page with a panel that I want to slide back and forth. But another part of the requirement is to have the panel look like it is sliding under another panel.
The problem is that an applet is on the panel that slides. When the sliding panel move under the stationary panel the applet does not go under the stationary panel, but the reset of the sliding panel does render looking like it is sliding under.

I have the same problem, and don't know how to solve it, So, i had tried to put my applet in a div tag wih z-index=0, but it still hide my other Dhtml divs with bigger Z-index (z-index =1000)
Have you any idea to solve this.

How do you get a topic to open in a custom window when accessed from the index?

I right click on an index key word and open Properties. There is only one topic associated with this key word. I click on the Advanced tab, select the custom window that I created. Click OK, compile, etc.
When I try to access this topic from the index, it still opens in the default pane. When I access it from the TOC, it opens in the custom window. How can I get the topic to open in the custom window from the index?

Hello,
The link might not work in Preview (When the option to open link in new tab is checked) however it will work if you do a File>Preview page/site in Browser.
Muse Preview has only one tab and cannot open another tab/window which is why this functionality does not work in Muse Preview. but works in preview in Browser and in published site.

How to control the order in which records get indexed

I like to control the order in which the ATG (10.1.2) product records get indexed in Endeca (3.1.1). I like the products/categories to be indexed in the order in which they are sequenced in BCC (in otherwords baseed on the sequence num they have). How to do this? Please help

If you want TopLink to set the values in a particular order you can order the mappings on a descriptor by setting their âweightâ (DatabaseMapping.setWeight(int). All DirectToField type mappings are defaulted to a weight of 1 and all relationship mappings are defaulted to a weight of MAX_INTEGER. Mappings with a lower weight value will be processed first by TopLink.

What version of Pages are you referring to?
Basically if you are talking about the Table of Contents in Pages and want to have different character styles within paragraphs in the T.O.C. you will have to export the T.O.C. and bring it back in as text and change that.

How do I get windows 7 to Index a network mapped drive?

I would like to change the location of my lobraries in Win 7 to a network drive but every time I change the location, it says it cannot be used because it's not indexed, so how do I get a network drive to be indexed or if there is a way around it I'd accept that too.

here's a solution... that indexes the contents of a folder on another networked computer - WITHOUT MAPPING THE NETWORK...
I don't like to spend a lot of time screwing around with the "mindboggling" os conflict stuff of Microsoft with Windows 7, Vista, xp-pro, etc.
THIS WORKS FOR ME... but since I'm just an "average user," I can't always explain the "intuitive" computer solutions to problems that I come up with in a sequential "step like" manner...
This SOLUTION may be useful in resolving other networking conflict issues when you are using various hardware and software.
The TWO computers I'm using for this example: a gaming Windows 7 x64 laptop, and an XP-Pro desktop. (I also have a Vista laptop, and another desktop with XP-home... but I don't use those that often - so I don't really care if this "solution"
works on those, etc.)
Anyway, I'll tell you the steps I did, though, I don't really understand "how all this works" - it just does.
Some points first, before I give you a "step by step..."
1. I can always access ALL NETWORK LOCATIONS AND FILES from my "Windows 7 x64" laptop.
2. I often can't access all network locations, etc. from my XP-Pro desktop... sometimes I can, but I don't know what I have done to cause this... and it's not to important to me... as long as MY MAIN LAPTOP can access everything on the network all
the time. (This probably has something to do with WIN 7 being "backwardly compatible" with previous hardware/software like XP but NOT THE REVERSE, etc. So, whenever I'm doing something "involving my network" ... I try to work "top-down" from the superior
WIN 7 system, etc.
OK... here's what I did... "experts" can figure out "if this is useful to you" and whether it has "other potential uses, etc."
here's a rough sketch of the "problem I was having" and the solution.
I often jump between two computers on my network... the win7 laptop and the xp pro desktop... and I wanted to have a "notepad file" that I use as a daily "do list," and I wanted to have it's contents change and be in sync, no matter which computer I had
updated the notepad file on. Now, I know THAT CAPABILITY is simply a matter of having it shared on the network. Now I originally created the notepad file on the xp desktop. Then, I went upstairs and found the shared folder I had put it in
from the desktop... and, of course, I could "change the contents of the file in sync" between the two computers...
Now, the problem came in when (from my laptop I could NOT INDEX the "shared folder on my desktop.") I tried MAPPING the network drive, and IT WOULDN'T do it...(some kind of issue between win7 and xp, etc.)
ANOTHER COMPLETELY DIFFERENT APPROACH occurred to me... AND THAT WORKED...so here's what was involved... and it INDEXED THE "SHARED FOLDER ON THE DESKTOP COMPUTER" without "mapping the network." ...why this works... YA GOT ME... BUT IT DOES!
HERE'S HOW IT WORKS: (all below is for WIN 7 X64 networked with older systems like XP... this method may work in other cases, too)
1. I created a "notepad" file on my xp desktop. (called the file "bingo.txt")
2. Created a "folder" and named it "bingo" also. (made this a "shared folder" and put the "bingo.txt" file in it)
3. Did a "network locations" search for this folder and put it in with the other shared folders/files in the "desktop network" location.
4. Went upstairs to my "win7 laptop"
a. pressed the Start button and entered "favorites" (without the quotation marks) into the little "search" rectangle that appeared just above the Start button. The "Favorites" folder appeared at the top of the list. I clicked on it and
the Favorites folder opened... then I "right clicked" on the "Recent Places" folder and created a "shortcut" on my desktop.
b. Now, whenever I click on any folder or file including the "shortcut to bingo.txt (which is on my win7 laptop for quick access)...well, the NETWORKED FOLDER: "bingo" suddenly shows up in "Recent Places" as a shortcut. THESE SHORTCUTS
CAN BE DELETED since that's all they are ... JUST BE SURE you are still in the RECENT PLACES FOLDER. For example: I clicked on a "shared network folder" and almost deleted it by accident... NOT REALIZING THAT I WAS NO LONGER IN THE "Recent Places"
folder...so, make sure before you delete. It's of course OK to "select all" and delete all the shortcuts that accumulate over time in the "Recent Places" folder, etc. Also I set the "sort" on the Recent Places folder to date/time, so that the "most
recent" place I have been "is always at the top of the list.
c. So, far - and this is interesting - ONLY FOLDERS SHOW UP in the locations you visit then look for in the "Recent Places" folder. So, for example, when I click on the shortcut (on my win7 laptop) for "bingo.txt"... and then later check the
Recent Places folder... well, only the "shared network folder BINGO appears there!" (not the bingo.txt file that's in it... I didn't click on the actual folder, just the bingo.txt shortcut, but what appears in the Recent Places folder IS ONLY THE NETWORK
FOLDER)
d. Now, the mystery: (my win7 computer was "indexing" in the background all this time) WHEN I DID A SEARCH FOR "bingo" ...the "bingo.txt" file was at the top of the list... I "right clicked" on it to check the properties (thinking the index has just
located the shortcut on my desktop maybe)...BUT THE PROPERTIES ...showed the "networked location" on my desktop downstairs.
e. IN CONCLUSION: I now have the capability to INDEX folders/files ON OTHER NETWORKED COMPUTERS from my "win7 x64 laptop" WITHOUT HAVING TO MAP THE NETWORK DRIVE!!! (maybe because the index catches the "bingo folder" being CURRENTLY ACCESSED
INDIVIDUALLY when I pull up the "Bingo.txt" by clicking it's shortcut on my laptop....
you guys can play around with this... DON'T KNOW WHY the "index" didn't show "bingo.txt" (residing on my desktop downstairs) until I placed a "shortcut" to the "Recent Places" folder on my laptop desktop screen... might have something to do with the "complex
index parameters" of Win 7, etc... but I don't have the time to try an trace it down, or test it, etc.
... The win 7 indexing system MAY INDEX ANY SHARED FOLDER from another networked computer WHEN IT'S BEING ACCESSED LIVE on the win 7 computer... is probably what's happening... so I didn't have to "map the network drive" but I did have to "BE ACCESSING A
FOLDER from another computer" for it to INDEX THAT FOLDER... now I don't, for example, know whether the INDEX system of my win7 laptop (running in the background) might not index a folder IF IT WAS DOING SOMETHING ELSE IN A BRIEF TIME that I was accessing
the folder from the other computer.
Win 7 index, from my experience, does seem to give some preference to INDEXING files you have recently or are currently accessing... if that helps.

I am albe to get the Index Quality for particular one Index by accessing following path.
DB02OLD -> Tables and Indexes -> Detailed Analysis -> Enter Index Name -> Detailed Analysis
Check storage quality by, Analyze Index -> Storage Quality
By accessing above path i have to check index one by one and its take very long time.
But I want to check the storage Quality for multiple Indexes at same time.
So is it possible to get Index Storage quality for miltiple indexes in single steps?

How do I get rid of the 1/16" space between my igoogle homepage and firefox ribbon?

I am currently running Firefox 4 and have igoogle set as my homepage. Both with the previous version of Firefox and with the new one I have about a 1/16 inch blue gap/space between the top of my igoogle homepage and the bottom of the Firefox ribbon/header. How do I get rid of this eyesore? It is only when I am on my igoogle homepage that this is a problem. All other pages are seamless.

Yes, it's seems like a poor design decision.
By putting the date on the line below the Note title in the Notes Index, the app shows half the number of notes per page AND if you have a large number of notes, it takes twice as long to stroll down.
I doubt the designer actually uses the app.
