How do I get a second monitor to work. I have all the correct leads etc. But I can not find the additional monitor in the Pref Display section.
Need to do this as built in screen is corrupting, with colour lines, I have been told that this is a screen issue not the graphics cards etc and not unusual on IMac

thanks. I didn't know that and it does work. But I still have the problem that it rarely works if I need to have the cursor in place in order to make a correction or addition to a cell, or if I want to use dictation, which is my preferred method.
But you have definitely provided me with a work around that I can use most of the time for entering text.
I am going to give it some more time to see what I can learn before switching back to Excel. It acts like there's a poor connection between the mouse and/or trackpad--I'm switching back and forth looking for better traction--and the program, although both the mouse and trackpad work well elsewhere.

Also, I just noticed the " This helped me." I appreciate all the help, and I'm now embarassed that I didn't understand that I should probably be clicking. Or does it work that way?

The icon is +Sections, not just Sections, as in "Add a Section". When you click that icon you get a section break and and a new section template, complete with preformatted text called placeholder text. The reason "Lorem ipsum" is there is so you can see what the format looks like. The reason that it is Latin gibberish is so you won't get hung up on, or distracted by, what it says. It's just a display of format. Select the "Lorem ipsum" text and start typing your content.

For the past few months I have been trying to get rid of MyStart by Incredibar. I have reset my computer to Firefox default, I have restarted Firefox with and without addons, I have searched with windows explorer and found and removed anything with incredibar and mystart and even file extensions. I am not particularly adept at understanding all the programming that constitutes the set up of my computer but with a step by step guide I can probably clean my machine. Please will someone help me just get rid of it.

In order to uninstall a possibly unwanted extension, please do the following:
#From the Firefox window click the Firefox button at the top left and select ''Add-ons'', or, if the Firefox button is not shown, click the ''Tools'' menu and click ''Add-ons''.
#Once the Add-on Manager has opened in a new tab, click the ''Extensions'' button on the left side of the window.
#You should now see a list of your installed extensions on the right side together with buttons on the right side of each extension.
#To remove an extension from Firefox, simply click the ''Remove'' button. You should see a message that informs you about the successful removal of the add-on.
#Note that some add-ons require a Firefox restart to be removed completely. To perform a Firefox restart after the add-on removal, click the ''Restart now'' link in the message.

How do I get the m3g package working under wtk2.2? When I try to build applications which use the package, the toolkit can't find it, although the .jar file is in WTK2.2/lib (jsr184.jar). But none of the scripts in WTK2.2/bin reference the file. I have tried adding classpath references to the jar file in all of the bin sripts, but I still get 'package does not exist' messages when I try to build, e.g., Redikod's M3GMIDlet. i have of course tried putting the jar file in the 'res' directory for the application.

When adding in a small company logo to the signature, PC's / windows computers only receive signature and logo as attachments.
I've tried all possible fixes I can find including getting a PC user to format the logo but no joy. Has anyone experienced this and any ideas on a fix gratefully received.

I am having real problems with my hotmail account not working on my IMac but works absolutely fine on my Iphone 5. Can anyone help with the setup for iMac. I am with BT for my Broadband. I am cionverned if I route my Hotmail accoutn to GMail will iy stop working on my Ipone.

How are you accessing Hotmail? Via your web browser? Are you using Apple Mail? Outlook?
The answer will be different depending on how you want to access Hotmail.
If you are using an email client (like Apple Mail, Outlook, Entourage, etc.)) then you need to set up a mail account in your email software.
The incoming Hotmail settings are these:
Incoming server: pop3.live.com
User name: Your full Hotmail email address (aka "me @ hotmail.com" or "me @ live.com")
Password: Your Hotmail password
POP port: 995
Use SSL to connect : yes
The outgoing Hotmail settings are:
Outgoing server: smtp.live.com
User name: Your full Hotmail email address
Password: Your Hotmail password
SMTP port: 587 (override the default port if necesssary)
Use SSL to connect : yes

How do I get Front Row to work with Lion? I have an iMac 27 inch computer and is the sole entertainment provider for my bedroom. I refuse to put a TV in my room and wanted to know how to get Front Row to work again on my mac? It seems that the upgrade to Lion erased the app.
I have quite a few movies and series that I bought off iTunes and is a shame that I can't use a media center app like Front Row on Lion.

I kind of have the opposite problem. I need to know how to turn off my remote on the computer. I am using the remote for my Apple TV and it keeps making the volume on my Computer go up and down (with annoying sounds).
There used to be a way to un-sync the remote with the comp but I cannot remember how and the Apple help is not much help! I have Lion.

Firstly, you need to change your details with Apple, Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

If your iPhone was unlocked and has relocked after an update to iOS, then the iPhone was hacked to unlock it and has now been locked back to the original carrier. You'll need to contact the carrier to whom the iPhone is locked and request unlocking. They may refuse to do so since you're not the person with whom they had the contract.
