How do I join on a partial key?

I have two tables that need to be brought into my physical layer.
The first table (Customers), has a 10 digit zipcode field (Custzip).
The second table (Zipcodes) has a key that is a 5 digit zipcode (Zipcode)
I need to go from the Customer table to the Zipcode table to get routing information for the customer.
I tried using a substring of Custzip to join to Zipcode, but it wont let me.
How can I Join the two tables in the Physical layer?

Such as I want to loop a Internal table of BSID according to BKPF.
data itab_bsid type hashed table of BSID with unique key bukrs belnr gjahr buzid.

and belnr = wa_bkpf-belnr
and gjahr = wa_bkpf-gjahr.

I know if you use all key to access this hashed table ,it is certainly quick, and my question is when i use partial key of this internal hashed table to loop it, how about its performance.
Another question is in this case(BSID have many many record) , Sorted table and Hashed table , Which is better in performance.

You can't cast b/w data reference which l_tax is and object reference which l_o_tax_code is.
osref is a generic object type and you store a reference to some object in it, right? So the question is: what kind of object you store there? Please note - this must be an object reference , not data reference .

How do I Join Fact to Fact in the BMM

I have a star schema in the BMM layer. Another star schema is also modelled. Now the fact table of star schema 1 has to get data from the dimension table in star schema 2.
How do I join the fact tables of star schema 1 and star schema 2.
They do not share a common dimension.

When i am creating the request in the presentation services ..
for some of the columns i am getting the following error..by removing those those columns it's working fine..

State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 17001] Oracle Error code: 1445, message: ORA-01445: cannot select ROWID from a join view without a key-preserved table at OCI call OCIStmtExecute. Looks like you have a view that contains the ROWID of another table. Does the view work first from sqlplus? See whether it returns any data. Its a ORA- specific error. So, the error is related to your view rather than BI EE. Also, how many columns are you trying to pull in your report?

I have 2 windows in a form. When i click on a button in first window, then 2nd window will be opened. (Note: both windows are based have master-details relationship with Table1 and Table2 respectively)
When i enter the information in 2nd window and click the SAVE Button it has to save those values to database. It used to work fine earlier. now, i am getting the following error.
FRM-40501: ORACLE error: unable to reserve record for update or delete.
ORA-01445: cannot select ROWID from a join view without a key-preserved table
Please help me, how can i resolve this error. Also, guide me what is a key-preserved table.

Firstly: - Please make sure that you have not opened the same record somewhere else in any other form and trying to update from there.
Secondly: - In your window 1 have you opened the same record which you are querying, editing and saving in window 2 ? If yes then this will givbe you error as you are trying to update a record which is already being updated somewhere else.

In a normal mapping, you can use a Key Lookup operator or a joiner. The Key Lookup operator operates as an outer join. You can use a joiner instead of a Key Lookup operator with the join condition specified with outer joins.
In my view, use joiner with the lookup condition specified in outer join. Using keu lookups, in a complicated mapping can lead to the following error at runtime:
"A table can be outer joined with atmost one other table".
Apart from this, I think Key Lookups are generally useful in dimension lookups in a datawarehouse, where you can specify the level where you should search for a match. The 10g R2 user's guide provides the details on how to do this.

You are not running as administrator, I think, which may be required and the only way to properly work and register. Also check for compatibility mode settings, UAC and DEP, all of which may require to be adjusted for a legacy app like PS CS2 to run properly. Also turn off Aero and switch to a conventional visual theme. The brush issue may be related to that or is a more generic problem with your graphics card and mouse config, but since you didn't provide any info on that, it will be hard for anyone to advise.
