How do I label a picture in iPhoto so that the label stays when I export the iPhoto to a dvd?
What do you mean by 'label' exactly? I can think of several possibilities:
Text on the Photo
Coloured Label like a Finder label
Text in the Exif or IPTC metadata
Filename
and we've see all of these used on here as 'label'. So if you can clarify we can help more.

How do I edit a merged clip in Audition, that was created in premiere to correct the synchronisation, and have it all updated to the premiere clip?
I have tried several tutorials but these either:
- show correction in premiere sequence (which is not practical; given the huge number of files we have)
- or show the editing in audition of a sequence, not the clip.
We have started merging audio and video (removing the original audio during merge) but some of the merged clips are out of sync, so we need to correct manually, BUT we want to correct the merged clip, which may or may not end up being used, so we do not want to take it to the sequence as all we are doing is prepare the synced files for editing.
Any idea how I can correct the synchronisation in Audition?, when I right click on clip and select "Edit in Adobe Audition" I get a list of files but not a multitrack session where I can see my video and audio tracks.if premiere pro doesn't sync your footage properly, and you have a huge number of files, you may want to look at pluraleyes. there is a demo, and if it works properly, it would save you time to have it done right the first time, instead of tracking down random merged clips with bad sync.
premiere will either export a complete sequence or "edit clip in audition". the edit clip will create a copy of the original audio and open that in audition. there is no dynamic link, its just an audio file open in two programs at the same time. since there is no dynamic link, its not possible to bring merged clips into audition.

Once created, the merged clip cannot be re-synchronized, or adjusted. You must make a new merged clip.
Merged clip audio results in mono track audio only.Final Cut Pro XML and AAF interchange formats are not supported.
this doesn't give me much hope that audition or any other adobe program outside of premiere will help you fix the problem merged clips. -
i cannot open iphoto- the message I am getting says Shut down and restart your computer, and then open iPhoto again. If the problem persists, try rebuilding your photo library. To do this, quit iPhoto, and then reopen it while keeping the Option and Command-

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

The error that my icloud account is full and need more storage stays on the screen of my Ipad2. It won't allow me to get more, turn it off or do anything on it. Help!!
Reset: Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons until the screen goes dark and the Apple logo appears
Then do some house cleaning in iCloud (or purchase more storage)
Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Manage Storage > Select a device if more that one > Show All Apps and turn off some apps that you don't need or care to be backed up.
Also, connect to iTunes and empty your Camera Roll onto your computer. Photos & videos tend to eat up a lot of space. -

Before anyone can help, they need information to work with. Basic stuff:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. What were you doing when the problem arose?
- Did it ever work properly?
- Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
Anything else you can think of that might allow someone else to understand your issue.
With this kind of information somebody can develop a starting point for troubleshooting the issue.

It sounds like you may have purchased a CreatePDF subscription through safari, using our web interface. If this is the case, the good news is that subscription will also work with the (free) Adobe Reader. Simply install the Reader from the App Store:

Once installed, you can then use "Open In" from another app like Mail to open the Word document in Adobe Reader. Reader will show the word doc, but it will also show you a message pointing to the "convert" button (A document with an arrow through it in the toolbar). Pressing this button should prompt you to sign into Acrobat.com. Use the same account you used to purchase your subscription and Reader will upload the word document for conversion, placing it in the Acrobat.com and Outbox section of the Reader. What version of OS X are you using? If it's recent (Snow Leopard or Lion), almost all the newest all-in-one printers (regardless of brands and models) are compatible with both Windows (XP and over) and OS X. Finding a network-operated (or shared) printer could prove more difficult, of course.
Now, buying one in an Apple Store is another matter, first because I'm not sure you can find printers there (I may be wrong, and it may depend on how big the Apple Store is; I don't remember seeing any in the Paris Apple Stores I went to, namely at the Louvres and near the Opera), and second because you're bound to pay a lot more for one in an Apple Store than in, say, a department store or an electronics retailer.

How do I sync a new iPad that I've already started using, and don't want to lose the data?
I have a new-ish iPad that I have started using without syncing to iTunes.
I now need to sync iBooks, if that is possible, with my iPhone. I gather that the best way to do this is to link the iPad and iPhone up with iTunes.
When I plug the iPad into my iMac, it appears as though it will delete all the existing content on my iPad as it thinks it is a brand new, unused iPad. I don't want this.
How do I connect the iPad to iTunes for the first time, without it erasing what I already have on it?Sadly, none of this works.
I have backed up using PhoneView and iCloud. When I plug the iPad in, I can't access anything other than a binary option that says 'set up as a new iPad' or restore from a previous back-up. Sadly, none of the iCloud back-ups that I have done from my iPad appear in the list.
Looking at the list provided above, I can only do steps 1-3.
4. Store>Authorize this computer.
- This doesn't work. A pop-up appears saying that I have already authorised 4 devices. It won't let me do anything else with this.
5. File>Transfer Purchases(To make sure all purchased content on your phone will be in your iTunes library).
- Greyed out - can't do this.
- None of the things below therefore work either.
6. Right click your phone in the left device pane & select "Reset warnings".
7. Right click again and select "Backup".
8. Right click again & select "Restore from Backup", select the backup you just made. When prompted to create another backup, decline.
9. This MUST be followed by a sync to restore your iTunes content, which you select from the various tabs, You'll get a popup regarding your contacts & calendars asking to merge or replace, select "Merge". -

Not that I know of, but you definitely need a relational database for this, and FileMaker is the best there is.
It might be worth asking them if they already have a template for your purpose.
Of course, they also make a simpler and cheaper version called Bento:

Any way to export from iPhoto and have the file date be the photo date?
I can't deal with iPhoto any longer. I just imported photos from the last few days and they ended up being associated with some "Event" from Jul 19, 2007. So now I have an event that spans Jul 19, 2007 to Feb 21, 2009!!! I'd like to just display, sort, view all photos in my library by date (I am meticulous about dates on all my devices) but apparently that's not possible anymore. "Events" is the worse thing to ever happen to my photo library...
So I'd like to export them all and just use the Finder. It actually works the way I'd like. However there does not seem to be any way to export the photos so that the file creation or the file modification date is the actual date the photo was taken as shown in the information box in iPhoto. Does anyone know how to to this? Or is this just the iPhoto engineers screwing with people like me who have gotten disgusted with their product?
Thanks!Yes, I know what the Finder is... The cool thing is it actually does know about the contents of the file. For example it can display thumbnails of the images contained within.
Even better the files can be sorted any way you want, are not hidden in some odd proprietary package, can be backed up, restored at will and can easily be programmatically changed using AppleScript. The file system for an OS is generally bullet-proof and as such doesn't screw with dates like iPhoto did (the events stuff screwed with all our dates and has been a disaster for us and the 40,000 or so pictures we had in our library).
iPhoto has just gotten too modal, too bloated, and too proprietary while not providing the basics like a way for my wife and I to have a single library for all our photos. On the other hand using just the file system and some network storage this is easy.
For the recored most pros I consulted with have moved to the file system and Finder as their primary means of managing their photos. I'm just looking for an easy way to get my stuff out of iPhoto so I can do the same. -

Have you tried rebuilding as the message suggests? Otherwise you need to remember that we can't see your machine and so haven't a clue what you're asking.

No, this capability does not exist in Pages.
LibreOffice has a forms designer so that you can create in-line, fillable forms. You can then one-button export to PDF. The LibreOffice Writer Guide has an entire chapter assigned to Forms. -

ThanksDepending on how the app is programmed, generally to force close an app, double tap the home button. You'll see the app icons and previews on the screen. Scroll sideways if needed to bring up the app in question. Flick the preview for that app up and off the screen. then single tap the home button or the home page preview to exit the mode
The app should then reboot from closed instead of just reopening
