How do I lock columns or rows from change

I want to keep a couple of columns from changing.
This is to prevent inadvertent changes in passwords or user Id.
How do i do that.

Waterdoc,
Numbers allows you to lock a whole table but individual cells.  This means that it is best to design, upfront, your data so that user input data is in one table and calculations are in other tables (which you can lock).  There is no facility for login access by user.  There is the ability to lock a document using the document inspector:
See the last section.  This is single password for the whole document.
You can post suggestions to Apple directly using the menu item "Numbers > Provide Numbers Feedback"
Best regards,
Wayne

  • How do I lock columns and rows in numbers?

I have a large spreadsheet and I want to scroll up, down, left and right without the need to go up and down to find the name of the column or row where the information goes into.
In Excel you lock a column or row just as easy but in numbers I have looked everywhere and don´t find an answer to this (otherwise) simple procedure.
Thanks tho anyone who can help me.

    Hi Laura,
The commands you are looking for are "Freeze Header Rows" and "Freeze Header Columns", both found in the Table menu.
To use them, you must first convert the rows and columns you want to keep visible as Header Rows and Header Columns. You can define up to five of each. Rows must be at the top of the table and columns at the left, and multiple header rows/columns must be contiguous.
Be aware that the conversion is not (easily) reversable, and that multiple headers (and footer rows) tend to slow large tables significantly.
To convert an eligible row, hover the mouse over the row reference tab, then click the triangle when it appears. If the row is eligible for conversion (ie. if it is the top non-header row on the table, and is in the top five rows), you will see the option to "Convert to Header Row, seen below for row 2:.

  • How To Access PAGE ITEM (single row) from HTML source

    Hi Guys,
I have a page Item that return a string.
I would like to show this string
How To Access PAGE ITEM (single row) from HTML source?
    My desire final output is
    <marquee>:P1_PAGE_ITEM</marquee>
    Can please help me
    Thanks

    Hi,
You can refer the page items in your page header as &itemname. For example, if I have page item P15_TEST, I will add the following in header:
    <marquee>
       &P15_TEST.
</marquee>But make sure that you have a process before header to populate the value in your page item. Otherwise, there will be a null scrolling (which you can't see!) :)

  • How do I transfer columns of statistics from an email or QuarkXpress into Adobe Muse?

How do I transfer columns of statistics from an email or QuarkXpress into Adobe Muse?

Well, it really depends on the file format your friends are using to send you the video. iTunes will only play certain formats, think of it as........having a car that only takes premium gasoline. If your friends give you a million gallons of regular gasoline, sure it's gasoline, but it won't work in your car. (That's a bad analogy but it's the best I can come up with).
So, if you open up your mail (are you using the Mail program on your computer, or going to a website such as gmail.com or yahoo.com to access your mail?), you should be able to right click the video and select to download it.
This should download it to your "downloads" folder, it should be on your dock if you didn't remove it. Click it, and select the "More in finder" button at the very top of the "stack".  If not, click the "Finder" button on your dock, and on the left click the Downloads tab.
Now, you must find the video. It should have the name of the video with the extension (an example would be...... firstbirthday.mp4). The extension is the ".mp4" part. Yours may be .mov, .mp4, .mkv, .avi, the list goes on and on, but it's very important.
You can try dragging the movie into iTunes (drag it anywhere over where it says Music, Movies, TV Shows, etc.) and it should hopefully turn to a little green bubble with +1. If the extension is not compatible, then, converting will be needed and that's a bit more tricky. It's also a little more tricky to get them to play on your Apple TV unless you use AirPlay.
Let us first know what extension these videos are in and we can go from there.

Hi - you have will have to change the device passwords on all the base stations and then don't give them to anyone except the administrators and tell them not to save them on their computers that use the older versions of the Airport Utility - for the newer versions like the mobile apps, as soon as you enter the pasword it is saved and is visible in the advanced pane along with the network password - so if anyone gets a hold of your iPad or iPhone, they can edit the whole network - I have this same issue with my networks in the office and it is inconvenient but doable - I hope this helps

  • How to use the column names generated from Dynamic SQL

    Hi,
I have a problem with Dynamic SQL.
I have written an SQL which will dynamically generate the Select statement with from and where clause in it.
But that select statement when executed will get me hundreds of rows and i want to insert each row separately into one more table.
For that i have used a ref cursor to open and insert the table.
In the select list the column names will also be as follows: COLUMN1, COLUMN2, COLUMN3,....COLUMNn
Please find below the sample code:
    TYPE ref_csr IS REF CURSOR;

    v_select VARCHAR2 (4000) := NULL;

  • How NOT to restrict no of rows from two tables

I have two identical tables Invoice and Payment. The only difference is Invoice_id,Invoice_Amt and Payment_id,Payment_Amt columns that shows different ids and amounts. The bank_ids, names, account_types are same. Invoice table has 3 rows and Payment has 2. Simply meaning that there were 3 invoices generated but the bank received 2 payments. I want to show Invoice_Amt and Payment_Amt using sql query. But its giving me total 6 rows. Whereas, I want 3 from Invoice and 2 rows from Payment table to show side-by-side.
    CREATE TABLE invoice
    ( invoice_id NUMBER
    bank_id NUMBER,
    bank_name VARCHAR2(256),
    invoice_amount NUMBER);
----Invoice table has 3 rows showing 3 Invoice Amts
    CREATE TABLE payment
    ( payment_id NUMBER
    bank_id NUMBER,
    bank_name VARCHAR2(256),
    payment_amount NUMBER);
----Payment table has 2 rows showing 2 Payments
After executing this sql statement below, I get 6 rows:
    select inv.invoice_amount,pymt.payment_amount from invoice inv,payment pymt where inv.bank_id=pymt.bank_id;
How can I show 3 rows for Invoice and 2 for Payment..?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    So you want
the 1st invoice to appear side-by-side with the 1st payment,
the 2nd invoice to appear side-by-side with the 2nd payment,
the nth invoice to appear side-by-side with the nth payment.
But, if there are an uneqaul numner of payments and invoices, all the payments and all the invoices must still be shown, alone on a row if necessary.
That sounds like a job for FULL OUTER JOIN.
Use the analytic ROW_NUMBER fucntion to determine which is the 1st, 2nd, ..., nth row in each table, for each bank.
    WITH     invoice_plus_r_num     AS
         SELECT     bank_id, bank_name
         ,      invoice_amount
         ,     ROW_NUMBER () OVER ( PARTITION BY  bank_id, bank_name
                                   ORDER BY          invoice_id
                           )         AS r_num
         FROM    invoice
    ,     payment_plus_r_num     AS
         SELECT     bank_id, bank_name
         ,      payment_amount
         ,     ROW_NUMBER () OVER ( PARTITION BY  bank_id, bank_name
                                   ORDER BY          payment_id
                           )         AS r_num
         FROM    payment
    SELECT       NVL (i.bank_id,   p.bank_id)          AS bank_id
    ,       NVL (i.bank_name, p.bank_name)     AS bank_name
    ,       i.invoice_amount
    ,       p.payment_amount
    FROM          invoice_plus_r_num     i
    FULL OUTER JOIN     payment_plus_r_num     p  ON   i.bank_id     = p.bank_id
                                        AND     i.bank_name     = p.bank_name
                                AND     i.r_num          = p.r_num
ORDER BY  bank_id     -- you can use column aliases here
    ,       bank_name
    ,       NVL (i.r_num, p.r_num)
;You mentioned something about accounts, but didn't include that in the CREATE TABLE statements. You'll probably want to add that wherever I used bank_id and bank_name, above.
Are invoce and payment actually views, rather than tables? If not, you should have a separate bank table, and only include the bank_id in the other tables.
I hope this answers your question.
If not, post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only) for all tables, and also post the results you want from that data.
Explain, using specific examples, how you get those results from that data.
Always say which version of Oracle you're using.

  • How can I get the selected rows from two ALV grids at the same time?

I have a program that uses two ALV grids in one dialog screen. I'm using the OO ALV model (SALV* classes).
The user can select any number of rows from each grid. Then, when a toolbar pushbutton is pressed, I'd have to retrieve the selected rows from both grids and start some processing with these rows.
It is no problem to assign event handlers to both grids, and use the CL_SALV_TABLE->GET_SELECTIONS and CL_SALV_SELECTIONS->GET_SELECTED_ROWS methods to find out which rows were marked by the user. Trouble is, this only works when I raise an event in each grid separately, for instance via an own function that I added to the grid's toolbar. So, I can only see the selected rows of the same grid where such an event was raised.
If I try to do this in the PBO of the dialog screen (that contains the two grids), the result of CL_SALV_SELECTIONS->GET_SELECTED_ROWS will be empty, as the program does not recognize the marked entries in the grids. Also, an event for grid1 does not see the selected rows from grid2 either.
As it is right now, I can have an own button in both grid's toolbar, select the rows, click on the extra button in each grid (this will tell me what entries were selected per grid). Then, I'd have to click on a third button (the one in the dialog screen's toolbar), and process the selected rows from both grids.
How can I select the rows, then click on just one button, and process the marked entries from both grids?
Is it somehow possible to raise an event belonging to each grid programmatically, so that then the corresponding CL_SALV_SELECTIONS->GET_SELECTED_ROWS will work?
    Thanks.

    Hello Tamas ,
If I try to do this in the PBO of the dialog screen (that contains the two grids), the result of CL_SALV_SELECTIONS->GET_SELECTED_ROWS will be empty, as the program does not recognize the marked entries in the grids. Also, an event for grid1 does not see the selected rows from grid2 either.--->
is it possible to  have a check box in each grid  & get the selected lines in PAI of the screen ?
    regards

  • How do I print column letters/row numbers in Numbers?

In '08 someone asked about printing row numbers and column letters in a Numbers SS. The answer: take a snapshot (CMD-SFT-4) or use Excel.
I am using iWork09; the problem continues with it. Has this flaw been fixed in later versions of iWorks? When I print the spreadsheet and a formula sheet, the formula sheet is pretty worthless if the spreadsheet has no colum/row identifiers. So much for having someone else audit my formula work.

    lawrence5M wrote:

Supply the auditor with a copy of the file, rather than a printed copy of the document. If she needs a printed copy of the formula list, that's easy to obtain from the file. When she clicks on a cell containing a formula, Numbers colour-codes the cell references and highlights the referenced cells with those colours.
Use Header Row and Header column cells to label each column and row. Set Numbers preferences to use these labels in the formulas to name the referenced cells.
Add a column to the left of the table to contain row numbers, and a row to the top to contain column letters. The row numbers are easy to generate with a simple formula; the column letters require a little more thought, especially for those past column 26 (Z, followed by AA), but it's doable.
Use the suggestion (auxiliary tables) suggested above by Wayne.
    Two other suggestions:
First, if this feature is, in your estimation, a significant flaw in Numbers, send feedback to Apple requesting it be included in a future version of numbers. Use the Provide Numbers Feedback item in the Numbers menu, or the link in this message—both go to the same place.
Second, Use the application that best meets your needs, whichever application that turns out to be.

  • Lock columns and rows

Hi I am trying to create a form/spreadsheet for shift bosses at work. I want them to be able to imput certain data but I also want to lockout certain columns and rows. Mostly so the formulas aren't tampered with. Is this possible?
Also, is it possible to save to a database?
Any help would be much appreciated.

    dogg,
Create separate Input and Calculation tables. Lock the calculation table (Arrange > Lock), leave the input table accessible. If you don't want the calculations to be viewed during input, you can change the colors of all lines, fills and text to White before locking, and put them on a different Sheet for good measure.
Another technique that plays on Numbers graphics advantage is to cover areas of your sheet that you wish to protect with a shape. Create a Shape and place it to cover your sensitive equations. Then set the Shape's Fill Color to 0% Opacity and lock the shape. Now you have what I call the salad bar sneeze guard effect for spreadsheets. You can defeat it if you try hard, but it works most of the time.

  • How to execute procedure returning data rows from sql plus

    Hi,
I want to execute a stored procedure that returns data rows from sql plus. please let me know the syntax for the same.

    user13065317 wrote:
Even if i get the result set into the cursor, do i have to do normal fetch into all the coumn variables within a loop
But suppose no of columns in my result set varies depending on a parameter to the stored procedure.
Is there any straightforward way to retrieve all the data irrespective of no of columns in the result set. There is no such thing as a "+result set+". Oracle does not create a temporary data set in memory that contains the results of your query. What would happen if this result set is a million rows and is too large to fit into memory? Or there are a 100 clients each with a 100,000 row result set?
This is not scalable. You will be severely limited in the number and sizes of these "+result sets+" that can be created in server memory.
A cursor is in fact a "program" that is created by compiling the SQL source code that you provide. This source code is parsed and compiled into what Oracle calls an execution plan. This is nothing but a series of instructions that the cursor will execute in order to return the rows required.
Thus the result set is actually the output from a cursor (a program). Likewise, bind variables are the input parameters to this program.
All SQLs are parsed and compiled as cursors and stored in the SQL Shared Pool. Oracle gives you handle in return to use to address this cursor - bind values to it, execute it, describe the output structure returned by the cursor, and fetch the output from the cursor.
On the client side, this handle is used in different ways. In PL/SQL alone, this cursor handle can be used as an implicit cursor (you do not even see or use the cursor handle in your PL/SQL code). Or you can use a PL/SQL cursor variable. Or a DBMS_SQL cursor variable. Or a reference cursor variable.
Why so many different client structures for the very same SQL cursor handle returned by Oracle? Because to allow you, the programmer, all kinds of different features and flexibility.
The ref cursor feature is the ability to pass this cursor handle around, not only between PL/SQL code, but also from PL/SQL to the actual client process (Java. VB, SQL*Plus, TOAD, etc).
The primary thing to remember - irrespective of what the client calls this (e.g. ref cursor, SQL statement handle, etc), this all refers to the same SQL cursor in the Shared Pool. And that this SQL cursor is a program that outputs data, and not a result set in itself.
