How do I log into the PC drive?

I work for a school district, and in order to access its server, IT configured the PC side so it is compatible. The problem is that when I boot to the PC, the log in screen is Press ctrlaltdelete I used the Mac combination, but of course the Help window shows a PC keyboard. How do I do this with my Powerbook keyboard? Using the Mac keyboard combination doesn't work. Do I need to use a PC keyboard? If so, will one with a USB work?
As an aside, I rarely use the PC side, but as my school district is all PC, in order to access certain areas, I have to use a PC.
For any Mac doubting Thomases reading this post, every student, teacher, administrator and yes, techie who has seen my Powerbook in action is awed, then quickly turns bright green with envy!

yes my mac users are set up as regular users in Active Directory. The main thing that they do is needing access to the shared resources and their own user folder. For this they just map the drive from the windows network using their domain user name and password.
You can also bind the machine to a directory account in Directory Access.
