How do i make a new file created appear in the Application Navigator?

I am doing an extension to JDeveloper..How do i make the new file that the user has created to appear in the Application Navigator?
What methods can i use?

If it's an IMAP type account then you should get an Edit button at the top of the list of folders that you currently have on your email account. If it's a POP type account then you won't get the Edit button, and you are limited to your existing folders

i have been searching for a solution for a long time please help me >
we have more than 100.000 docuents saved as pic on our network at work by using ( Laser Fiche). I wanted to save all files by using acrobat distiller but when i try to print a file i was prompted to enter a file name! but i don't want to... i want the distiller create a file name automatially.
in the preferencesd i unchecked ( ask for PDF .. ) but the problem is that all files saved were overwritten because distiller was imporing the file name from Laser Fich!
how can I make distiller ( autoname files like 0001 0002 0003 and so on) ?
forgot to tell you that i am using acrobat version 5 ( and windows xp + laser fiche at work )

it didn't work
I opened the properiteis of the distiller and uncheck the ( prompt for the PDF file name) so that the distiller can save files automatically . it did but by overwriting the files because the original files in the LASER FICHE have same names so the distiller saved one file only by overwriting ....that's why i want to make distiller to name files when saving them ( the distiller are imorting the files from Laser fiche only but i want it to autoname them )
i also opened distiller properites and unchecked the ( ask to replace existing PDF filename ) the distiller was always asking me to replace file ! and I can't do it this way because I have more than 100.000 docuents!

How do I make a new file that will not have to be rendered again?

This is a little complicated but I've tried everything and still can't find a solution.
Here's what I'm doing:
1. Record footage with my Canon HV 30 in 1080 30p mode.
2. I import it into Final Cut Studio 6. Plays back fine.
3. I add chroma key and garbage matts to get rid of green screen. Now it has to be rendered to play back at all.
4. So, I'm trying to make a new movie out of the footage with the chroma key so that I can then import it and play it back without having to render every time a move something.
I know it has to be exported in the same format as the FC file in order to do this, but when I do that I don't get an alpha channel so the places where the green screen was is now black instead of see through.
I tried saving in animation and "no compression" with the alpha channel but then it won't play back without the rendering again.
Am I asking to do the impossible?

Hey there, wireduck! There are two ways to render out keyed footage.
If you export to animation codec (choose millions of colors + ),
I believe you need to export from an UNrendered FCP sequence.
So make sure your sequence has the little red or orange lines, then export.
This should produce a file with a good alpha channel.
The problem is that the animation codec is big and processor-intensive,
as is your other HDV footage. So it might work, but you'll get bogged down
at some future point.
A cool trick is to convert the entire sequence to the DVCPRO HD codec.
It's really easy for your computer to digest, and it looks great.
Now here's the trick to export the alpha channel as a separate file.
On your keyed clip, after the other effects (color smoothing, key),
add the Channel Swap filter, and set red, blue, and green from alpha.
By doing this, you are making the RGB channels display your alpha channel.
Export this (DVCPRO HD) and name it the same as your clip,
but with something like "-alpha" at the end so you can keep track of it.
Import it.
In your sequence (sequence settings DVCPRO HD, yes?), place the original
footage--with all the keying and channel effects disabled--on V3.
Set its Composite Mode to Travel Matte - Luma.
Directly below that, on V2, perfectly aligned to the original clip,
place your -alpha clip with normal composite mode.
Now put your background on V1.
You should see the composite working, and three tracks of DVCPRO HD
should play on your computer OK without needing to render.
Just keep the original clip (on V3) and its alpha version (on V2)
perfectly in sync, and you can edit and add other effects.
This should work for you. Good luck!

Haha yes i forgot that you may not be using Apples Mail. Lets try the export then file>export, then under the heading "format" click JPG. Then click "scale images no larger then:" in the width field type "800" then the height field should change by itself. Thats what i do for emailing, it's usually the best trade between quality & size, that should be small enough to email. Best wishes JAG
P.S. when you first click "scale images no larger then" what's already in the width height fields? thats your actual photo resolution.

You can't delete an account, all you can do is remove any personal info from in and stop using it - but anything that you downloaded from the stores with it will remain tied to that account.
If you don't know the password for it then try this page to get it reset : http://iforgot.apple.com
If you also don't know your security answers, then if you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then steps 1 to 5 on the page that you posted from should let you reset them : go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account, then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you should see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you won't get the reset option - you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.

I've created sample wav instruments for exs24 (i.e. AnnK.exs, BanginKicks1.exs). When I select Exs24 for a track, my custom instruments are shown in the library but only when I first assign exs24 to the track:

A client confronted me with the next question:
I have a map with 500 pdf's in it.
Is it possible to make a new file with only the first page of each pdf?
After that to make a new file with only the second page of each pdf?
And after that the third?
Etc.
Is that possible with an action?
Or are there scripts for?
I couldn't find them.
I use an iMac with Acrobat XI.
Any help is very welcome.

You can extract each page from each pdf as a seperate page. Once this is done you can select the pages tocombine.
You would have to write custom a custom JavaScript and programatically code the names to combine if the extracted file pages habvestandars naming that could be programed. There maybe some security coding you will have to do because of Adobe restrictions but this all documented in the Acrobat JavaScript Reference.

File Sharing Permissions Problem When NEW Files Created

My wife & I have a home office network setup for our business, and are having trouble with shared files over the network. We're both on Macs, and all of our client files reside on an internal hard drive in my Mac Pro. I've set her up as a "Sharing Only" user on my computer (which matches the username & password of her account on her iMac), and have properly setup file sharing in both the System Preferences, and in the directory itself that we want shared. I've also applied the permissions to all files & folders below the main folder, and she can view, open and save whatever she needs and it works great.
*Here's where the problem comes in...* If either of us create a NEW file or folder, the other person doesn't have WRITE access to it (we can browse and open it fine). The second I go to update a file she created, it won't let me over-write it, and I have to go into the permissions for that specific file and give myself Read/Write access. I've experimented with "Groups", and assigned both of us a special group, and applied that group access to that directory, but it doesn't make any difference when a NEW file or folder is created - it doesn't copy the parent directory permissions to itself, it makes one of us the owner, and nobody else has access.
Is there any way around this? We're both constantly creating new files, and it really hampers our workflow to have to keep re-applying file permissions every time one of us creates something new. Ideally, any new files created within that main client folder would automatically have the same permissions as the parent directory. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

Here's how to do this with Access Control Lists.
1) Go to System Preferences -> Accounts. Unlock the padlock. Click the + button. Make a new group. Call this group "sharing" for the purposes of this exercise. Add the users you want to the group.
2) Make a new empty folder in /Users/Shared. Call it "sharefolder".
3) Log in to an admin account and paste all three of these lines at once into Terminal:
sudo chmod +a "sharing allow delete,chown,list,search,add_file,\
addsubdirectory,delete_child,file_inherit,directoryinherit" \
/Users/Shared/sharefolder
4) From now on, any files you create or copy to the sharefolder or to any of its subfolders will inherit read+write permission for all users in the group. If you have any existing files that you want to move into the sharefolder, a simple move by drag & drop won't cause the permissions to propagate. you need to hold down the option key while dragging them in. This will copy them over, ensuring that the ACL permission is properly inherited.
One other caveat: Files created by a small number of OS X apps won't inherit the permissions properly if saved directly into the ACL folder hierarchy. TextEdit is one such app. Save TextEdit files in a temporary location first, and then copy them in. Then they will have the correct permissions.

The two user tips both describe a sequence of steps that should get your library from the point where it threatens to wipe data from your device to where it is syncing normally, while recovering as much information as possible. It may still be necessary to wipe and reload the device but this should only take place once all the data that can be recovered has been recovered.
Doing step 1 of 8 and then complaining things aren't the way you want them to be yet strikes me as premature...
Since you appear to have all your media content, and we are discussing an iPod classic, not an iOS device, the main worries are already taken care of. What's left is ratings, playcounts, playlist membership and checked status. Since your device holds only part of your library at best you could only recover the missing data for the content that is on the device using third party tools.
Recreating the previous checked/unchecked status of every track in your library from where you are now may not be that easy. Syncing with selected playlists has many advantages, one of which would have been that you would have a named playlist that could have been retrieved by 3rd party software if you had used this method.
You haven't explained what caused your problem in the first place, but if you have a Previous iTunes Libraries folder holding old copies of your iTunes database (generated with each iTunes update) then it would be possible to restore the most recent of these and then update the library with any changes in your media folder.
BTW Apple doesn't offer free support for this kind of issue with iTunes.

I have a macbook pro 13" 2008 with 8 gb of ram that has been showing stuttering in hd video lately (or maybe when i upgraded to lion). I created another user and it doesn't seem to suffer any stuttering. Perhaps it doesn't have weird things running the background like the 655mb kernal task I see in activity monitor. It does not matter what the settings are for your iPod. iTunes syncing generally works in one direction only, from iTunes library to iPod. You cannot use iTunes to transfer song files from iPod to computer (except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store). However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer. If you do an Internet search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links. (The CNET article seems to be popular.)
Once the song files are on your computer's drive, you can add them to your new iTunes library
