How do I move data from my iphone to a new iMac?

I just purchased a new iMac.
I would like to move all data (music, apps, etc.) from my iPhone to the new iMac - how do I do that?
Also, I have an old iMac that is no longer working but was one of the 5 computers that I had authorized for sharing music.  Is there a way to de-authorize that computer, even if it does not boot, to 'reclaim' a sharing computer?
Thanks...

How do I import data from an external hard drive onto my new iMac?

If you think about it logically if you want to move something from one place to another well do just exactly that
Drag & Drop its as simple as that click on the file/folder keep it pressed down & move the file/folder to where you want it on your Mac
If its photo's drag them onto the iPhoto icon on the dock if its music drag it onto the iTunes icon documents into guess what documents
    Hope this helps

  • My old comp crashed! How do I move data from my ipod onto the new one?

I had a dell laptop; it crashed... I have about 2500 songs and videos on my ipod; is there a way for me to move the data from the ipod to itunes in my new computer? Thanks for any help...

Hi! Welcome to Apple Discussions Forum.
If you have purchased songs from the iTunes Music Store, then those are pretty easy to transfer to your computer. You'll just need to follow [this instructions|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305465].
All your other songs (for example, those ripped from your CD's), you'll need to use any 3rd party program to transfer them to your iTunes library!
Some can also transfer your playlists, videos, ratings, podcast...

  • How do I move music from my iPhone to my new MacBook?

I just got a new MacBook as a school laptop. I want to put my music on iTunes on it from my iPhone. I've already authorized this laptop and somehow managed to get the movie I have on my phone onto it, as well as my apps. So how the crap do I get my music on there? This is so inconvenient...

There's no way to do it that's officially supported by Apple, but there are ways to do it.
Since it's not officially supported, I'm hesitant to give any more detail- though it isn't very difficult.  I suggest Googling it for some quick answers.

  • How do i move photos from my iphone to my new macbook

How do I get the photos from my old macbook stored on my iphone, into my new macbook?

YOu need to move  from your old MB not your iphone
Connect the two Macs together (network, firewire target mode, etc) and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity from the old Mac to the pictures folder of the new Mac - launch iPhoto on the new mac and it will open the library and convert it as needed and you will be ready move forward.

  • How to transfert my data from my iPhone to my new Macbook pro.

    Hi everyone.
I just bought a brand new Macbook pro and i want to transfert all my data that I bought on iTunes and the picture that I take from my iPhone 4 to my new macbook whitout loosing them.
The iphone was first synchronized with the iMac of my father a couple month ago.
I tried yesterday to put all my stock to my new macbook but it doesnt work.
Is there a way that I can transfert it all...
    Thank you for your help!
    Luis
PS, I'm french, sorry if there is some mistakes in English

What do you want to transfer?  Music cannot be transferred without doing some workarounds that we probably can't discuss here.  Any music and apps bought from iTunes should show up on your MBP's iTunes once you activate iCloud (not sure if that's available where you're located).  Any music that you ripped yourself will require you to save it to a flash drive or DVD, then move it to your Mac by adding it to your iTunes library.
Other than music and apps, what else do you want to transfer?

  • How do i move data from old hard drive to new one?

Just bought a 750GB Hitachi hard drive for my MacBook Pro.  What is the best way to move the new data to it?  Load it from a time machine backup, or as one source says, install a clean copy of Snow Lepoard, then upgrade to Lion, then copy the data?  Any thoughts?

I just used this posting from Apple to copy all my Time Macine files from one drive to a new one, using OS 10.8.4  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5096

  • HT1386 How do I move data from my iPhone 4 to my iPhone 4s?

I backed my iPhone 4 to iTunes.  Then plugged in my 4s.  It wouldn't take the data etc from the 4 due to needing to update to iOS 6.  I had to add it as a new device.  Now I have two iPhones, a 4 and a 4s on my iTunes and can find no way to make the 4s as the 4 was.
How do I sync the data?
    thanks

Ok, I've managed to do this tonight for my new 4s so hopefully ill manage to explain it to you.
I take it you uploaded ios6 onto your 4s when you set it up as 'new'?
If so, now go into settings on the 4s and chose to 'erase all content and settings'.
When you now go back through the set up process on the 4s, it eventually gets to a screen asking if you want to restore from back up.
When you plug it back into iTunes this time, it already has ios6 now and fingers crossed will just work! Select the back up version you want to restore from and off it should go.
    Hope that helps

How do I move pictures from one iphone to another?

Photos in the Camera Roll are included with the iPhone's backup. You can transfer the backup from one iPhone to another which will include all data included with the backup.
Photos and videos in the Camera Roll can be imported by your computer. After importing from one iPhone, the photos can be transferred to another iPhone via the iTunes sync process.
Photos in the PhotoStream on one iPhone running iOS 6 can be made available on another iPhone running iOS 6 by creating a shared PhotoStream album, or if the same iCloud account is accessed on both iPhones, the PhotoStream album will be identical on each iPhone.

How do I move pictures from old iphone to new iphone

If you want to transfer your camera roll photos, along with text messages and other data and settings from your old phone to your new one, back up the old phone then restore the backup to your new one (see http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2109).  If you only want to transfer the photos, import them from your old phone to your computer as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083, then put them in a folder and sync them to your new phone by selecting the folder on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing.  (Be aware that photos synced to your phone using iTunes can only be deleted later by syncing them off again.  They can't be deleted directly on the phone.)

  • How do I transfer data from one iPhone to another?

How do I transfer data from one iPhone to another?

If your old device is an Apple using iOS 5 or later, and you have an iCloud account, you can transfer all your saved messages, email accounts, photos, notes, and other personal settings to your new iPhone.
    Here's how...
Connect your old Apple device to WiFi and to a power source.
Back it up to iCloud by going to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup and toggling iCloud Backup on. The time it takes to ba ckup depends on how much data you have and on the speed of your internet connection.
iCloud backs up your device once a day. If it needs backing up before you transfer to your new iPhone 5, tap Back Up Now in Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup. Do not start transferring before the backup is finished.
Turn on your new iPhone and complete the setup by selecting your language and country, and choose whether to enable Location Services. When prompted, choose your WiFi network.
When prompted to set up, choose Restore from iCloud Backup, tap Next, and enter your Apple ID and password.
Select the backup of your old device and tap Restore. Wait until the device has finished restoring from the backup.
When the restore process is complete, your iPhone will restart and be ready to use.
Connect your iPhone 5 to iTunes to sync data not contained in the backup (such as music, videos, apps, and so on). You can choose the data that are synced by clicking the syncing tabs in iTunes.
