How do I open my Photoshop subscription version on my desktop, like the stand alone one I used to have? (I don't care about all the tutorials, cloud stuff etc.)
What's going on with this thing that I just subscribed to? I just get "tutorial" and "cloud" screens that I have no interest in. I'm a long time Pshop user and just want to open the program like I always used to on my desktop. How do I do it?

I can't open 3 documents because trial upgrade to version 5 of pages happened. I don't want to pay $20 to get upgrade. I don't recall fine print stating money would be needed. How do I open docs in older version? They were created in older version.

You can use these steps to open your Pages documents with the previous version:
Permanently change the document’s app
Select the document and choose File > Get Info.
In the Info window, click the triangle next to “Open with” to expand the section.
Choose an app from the pop-up menu, or choose Other to locate a different app.
If you want to use that app to open all documents of the same type as the current document and created by the same app, click Change All.
Temporarily change the document’s app
You can open a document in a different app without changing the app that normally opens it. Use either of these methods:
Control-click the document, choose Open With, and then choose the app you want to use.
Drag the document to the app’s icon in the Dock or in the Finder.

I recently did a system update and installed Yosemite on my Mac. Now I am unable to open CS5 at all. The error message I get is this: "To open Adobe Photoshop CS5.1, you need to install legacy Java SE 6 runtime." I have tried downloading this and it still gives me the same mess
In the details it is mentioned that it is an outdated version of Java.
Is this a security risk that i need to live with to get CS5 to run with Yosemite?
Also i need to reject messages from Java in the future about updates, or not?

I've updated to the most recent version of iTunes and I can no longer see any of my old music on my mac. All the music is still available on my ipad. How can i download the music on my mac?
First, are you positive it is really not there? Have you looked in your iTunes folder in your Music folder, and in the media folders there? Do you see your media files?
If your media are gone it is a lot easier to restore from a proper computer backup. Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.

I'm trying to migrate from mobileMe to iCloud but I have Snow Leopard (the latest version). It looks like Lion is no longer available because Mountain Lion comes out next month (July). The problem is mobileMe ends on June 30th. How can I migrate?
My iphone and my ipad are compatible but when I try to go to icloud on my phone it says to do it on my computer.
I would like to have my calendar, contacts, etc.. all sync like they do now. Is there a way to upgrade before June 30th? If not, will the gap be an issue or will I just be able to buy mountain lion and sync everything?
Any suggestions?
Thank you!You can buy Lion in the App Store now, but move to iCloud now. If you wait to Mountain Lion, you will only have Mail in Snow Leopard, so you will lose syncing unless you use Lion or Mountain Lion. It's up to you

i would like to go for older version of one of the app ( snipsnap ). previously i used to have in my iphone but during synching i did not got option to transfer apps to library so i lost all my apps. how can i get snipsnap v1.3 again? or if anyone have link to this older version app please let me know. thanks.
You appear to have an iPhone 5. Snipsnap 2.4.2, the current version, says it works on iPhone 5, iOS 5.0 or later. Why do you want an out of date version of the app?

How do I open a Numbers file sent to me that has been converted to Excel? I already have MS office for Mac, but nothing comes up when I click on the imported file.
If it indeed has been converted from Numbers to Excel, it will have a .xlsx suffix at the end of the name. Do a Get Info on the file if the suffix doesn't show. Else, it may still be in Numbers format and be unreadable by Excel.
If it is in the right format, and you don't want to have to do what mende1 has instructed above for every successive file, click on the "Always open with..." option. That will associate the .xlsx suffix to Excel from thereon. -
First, how do I create my own favorite theme template for DVD slideshows? I used to be able to select this from pulldown menu, but cannot now do so. I am directed straight to already existing themes, which take more memory. I have a large slideshow, and need all the space I can get. I just want to use a picture as my DVD cover, and then insert a slideshow. Also, when I try to burn my 8.5gb double sided slideshow, all that burns is the music. It is a large slideshow, a memorial on the life of my now deceased brother. This means a lot to me and to my family, and I am having so much trouble trying to burn it. I have gone into Project View and selected appropriately. The bar shows I have room to burn this DVD, but it does not burn. I have burned so many DVDs in the past, but this one just will not burn. I am so confused at this point. I will say this is the first 8.5gb I have attempted to create and burn. My specs list a 7.7gb or 4.7gb as operable....but there are no 7.7gb dvds. I had to purchase 8.5gb. Help? What am I doing wrong? I have spent so much time on this, and just cannot figure it out.
Final Cut is a separate, higher end video editor. The pro version of iMovie.
Give iPhoto a look at for creating the slideshow. It's easy to assemble the photos in an album in iPhoto, put them in the order you want and then make a slideshow of them. You can select from various themes and transitions between slides and add music from your iTunes library.
When you have the slidshow as you want use the Export button at the bottom of the iPhoto window and export with Size = Medium or Large.
Save the resulting Quicktime movie file in your Movies folder.
Next, open iDVD, choose your theme and drag the QT movie file into the menu window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Then follow this workflow to help assure the best qualty video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it. If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
The reason I suggest iPhoto is that I find it much easier to use than iMovie (except for the older iMovie 6 HD version). Personal preferences showing here. -
How do I use the time capsule to share itunes music between multiple apple devices? Also, is it possible to control the music on one device using another, and how do you set this up?

i'm assuming this is the new 3tb tc AC or 'tower' shape, if so, its wifi will run circles around your at&t device
unplug the at&t box for a minute and plug it back in
factory reset your tc - unplug it, hold down reset and keep holding while you plug it back in - only release reset when amber light flashes in 10-20s
connect the tc to your at&t box via eth in the wan port, wait 1 minute, open airport utility look in 'other wifi devices' to setup the tc
create a new wifi network (give it a different name than your at&t one) and put the tc in bridge mode (it may do this automatically for you, but you should double check) under the 'network' tab
login to your at&t router and disable wifi on it
add new clients to the new wifi network, and point your Macs to the time machine for backups -
How can I remove the pictures in photo stream? I have already turn off my photostream at the settings but when i turn it on again, the pictures still come out?
Ok you can reset the stream from www.icloud.com
Goto www.icloud.com
Login with your iCould username and password.
and login
Then click on your name in the top right hand side of the screen next to sign out,
it opens a window Account details with Language, Time Zone, Advanced
Select Advanced - Then click Reset Photo Stream. and confirm, the stream will be reset and totally deleted
I still think you should be able to remove individual pictures though, a blured image etc is a problem -

The apps on one of my pages have frozen how can I 'unfreeze'them?
The apps on one of my pages have frozen and four of them have moved to the next page and also frozen how do I 'un freeze' them?
I just experienced the same sort of a "frozen page" on my iPad last night. In my case it was the second of five pages of apps, not a full page, containing three folders, and the symptoms were as follows:
Tapping on an icon (any on the the page, including folders .. which would not open .. but not including those in the tray at the bottom of the page, which still did work) resulted in nothing happening at all
Pressing and holding a 'frozen' icon likewise resulted in nothing at all. They could not be moved.
All other icons on all other pages continued to work normally
Pressing and holding icons on other pages would result in the normal "jiggling" display, but this did not affect the frozen ones on Page 2. They did not jiggle, no "X" appeared on them.
I have no idea why this would have happened, but it would appear that somewhere in the way I was doing things with the apps I had open at the time got something latched in some mysterious way. In any case, I fixed this by running a Reset (press & hold both Home and Sleep/Wake until the apple logo appears on the blank screen, etc.) which did return to normal operations. I suspect that a normal shutdown and restart might have fixed the issue also, but it was late and I didn't feel like playing around too much. -

Emails sent to me are sometime returned to the sender with the message "Inbox full" even though I have maybe less than 100 emails in the Inbox and I regularly compact them. I delete emails from the Inbox and the Sent and Trash boxes to overcome this. How can I increase the storage space to stop this happening?Hi terrybohle1938,
Firefox is a web browser. It provides access to online content. Things like your email are handled by the content provider. Who is your email provider? You'll have better luck consulting their documentation.
That being said, deleting only email is a great way to free up space. Another option would be to purchase a "Premium" account if your email provider offers this service. Many times more storage space is offered as part of paid subscription.

MaxL does not have commands to alter an outline directly, except the reset command which can delete all dimensions but not members selectively. The best you could do would be to run a rules file (import dimensions) using a file that contains the members you want to keepload rule for the dimension. As typical the warning is to test this first before you do it on a production database
