I use Apex 4.0.2 and the theme is Builder Blue 2. When I click edit tab, I get "Tab Label" that is required field and a region called "images". As I got from you, I cannot utilize images in my case.

Helvetica Light Appears As An Image Instead Of Text
Earlier i was using "Helvetica" on my Adobe Muse website that i am designing. I had to change it from "Helvetica" to "Helvetica Light" and the text started to show as an image instead of text. I mean it does not remain text anymore and when i export the site it shows as a png file. Although i can still edit the text of course.
I have seen a question on the forum (HERE) that explains what is happening but there is no explanation how to correct it. I really want to use Helvetica Light instead of normal Helvetica. Can any one tell me how to keep it as a text instead of a png file?
Thanks!Not all visitors to your website will have Helvetica Light installed on their computer, so the only way for Muse to give that exact look is to turn the text into an image.
If you want the text to stay live text and not become an image, you have to limit yourself to the fonts in the 'web safe' or 'web fonts' categories. If you use a system font, Muse will rasterize the text to give you the exact appearance you desire. -

[SOLVED] How to Create an Image from UTF8 Text via Command-line
As the title points out, I'm trying to create an image from unicode text via command line. I tried...
convert -pointsize 48 -size 400 caption:测试用 text.png
But that results in question marks for the Chinese characters. So searching around online I discovered that I needed to specify a font which could display the characters. The characters show up just fine in Firefox, KDE, Kate, Terminal, etc so I know I have a font which can render them. I thought it might be DejaVu but this also resulted in question marks...
convert -font /usr/share/fonts/TTF/DejaVuSerif.ttf -pointsize 48 -size 400 caption:测试用 text.png
Any ideas?
Last edited by tony5429 (2011-01-31 23:17:41)DejaVu doesn't contain those Chinese glyphs at all, so please don't blame ImageMagick for not rendering them.
So, Firefox, Kate, Terminal and the others you stated to use DejaVu, if encounter these characters, fall back to some other fonts to render them. These fonts are, however, not vector, but bitmap fonts. (This can be seen if you increase text size (Ctrl++ in Firefox): the Chinese characters don't change, they remain of their inherent size.)
Actually, e.g. /usr/share/fonts/misc/18x18ko.pcf.gz definitely contains the three example characters, so the mentioned apps may use this font as fall back.
Apparently ImageMagick doesn't handle bitmap fonts (I'm not sure), so you won't be able to hit your original target. Anyway, since you tried to parse "-pointsize 48", you wouldn't be satisfied with the font size.
Your only choice seems to be using the above mentioned CJK-approved TTFs.

How to select different parts of the text? cmd button no longer does that...
After installing Maverics i can no longer propertly edit my work as I cannot mark different parts of text using cmd button. Shift works as before for highlighting all the text from starting point to selected point but I can no longer use cmd to highlight different areas of the text. Is this an OS bug? Or was the button for selecting different parts of the text changed? I tried everything...
It's just a small part of what makes Pages 5 so "stunning" (Apple's word). You think stripping out the nifty ability to mark non-contiguous passages of text was neat? Sure that was nice. But Apple has gotten rid of more, so much more. And for free!
Just wait till you put the product through its paces and you discover other nice features that are missing, such as (but not limited to):
- no linking of text boxes! Yes, that's right. Now a newsletter that had a "continued on page 6" or whatever will be broken by Pages 5. Stunning! (Even more stunning, Pages 5 will strip out all sorts of formatting from documents created with Pages 4.3 and it will do ao without warning and will save the document in a NEW unified file format so that it cannot be opened by Pages 4.3, thereby potentially losing users hours and hours of work. Stunning!
There's more!
- Pages 5 has no mail merge, no bookmarks, no images in headers/footers! Pages 4.3 has those features, but this stunning new release removes them.
- Pages 5 features vastly reduced and simplified set of templates (there used to be about 130 Apple-cupplied templates, now there are about 60).
- Page 5 also boasts NO RTF SUPPORT, so a paper your wrote with Apple's own TextEdit is not natively readable with Pages: Stunning!
- No detail was too small to omit in this stunning new release: the vertical ruler, so you can easily place text or an obejct at a certain place in a document: gone! Setting the default zoom: gone! Status bar reproting word count and pagecount (e.g., Page 4 of 48): Gone! View comments in the left side bar: Gone! Autocapitalization: Gone! Search & Replace: drastically simplified!
But here's the really good news: Pages 5 is just PERFECT for creating a one page-poster advertising a new concert by Apple employee Eddie Cue. What's more you can collaborate on it with someone else, even if they're using a PC. Now that's "stunning"! -
How can I set the different boolean text in the button array?
I created the OK boolean button array. How can I change the boolean text of each button to be different at run-time? I changed one, but the others are changed also.

Select the control using the positioning tool and choose
Customize... from the Edit menu or choose it by popping up
on/right clicking on the control and selecting Advanced>>
Customize...
This will open the control up in a new window -- the control
editor window. This window allows for lots of additional
control modifications and allows for them to be saved into
typedefs to promote reuse and make things more consistent.
Once in the control editor, popup on the button and select
the menu item near the bottom Multiple Text Strings.
Close the editor window and the first dialog will ask if
you would like to save the change
d file. Choose No, and a
second dialog will ask if you would like to Replace the
Original Control. Choose Yes.
At this point the Button will support multiple text labels.
To edit the True string, make the Boolean True and use the
Labeling tool to edit the string that is visible. To edit
the False string, make the Boolean False and use the labeling
tool to edit that string too.

After the last os x 10.7 update: how to view 'browse history' by image? And not only text?
That crash appears to be casued by the Facebook plug-in.
Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts or Users & Groups on 10.7 and 10.8), make a new Library in that account, import some shots and see if the problem is repeated there. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account. -
HTML Button use an image instead of Text
I have an HTML button in its own region called A_BUTTON, its current Button display attributes are
sytle: HTML Button
Attributes: name="A" class="where_clause_button"
what it does is i use a dynamic action based off the where_clause_button jquery selector and use javascript to update a hidden field. I would now like to use the Oracle Logo for example as the image of the button instead of using a text label for it. I tried adding to the Attributes src="http://www.oracleimg.com/admin/images/ocom/hp/oralogo_small.gif". When i run it the button still works the same as before but without the image and retains its Text Label, in this case its A.
the html it generates is for the button during runtime is:

How do I place images in a rotatable divided cube using Java?
Hello- I am creating a puzzle that is like the "Rubik's Cube,"
although this puzzle is played on the computer monitor, and the puzzle
involves images placed on the sides of a cube. The mouse is used to
rotate the sides of the cube. Each side of the cube is divided into
three sections.
The code for the basic puzzle has been written by another person. The

My goal is to create a puzzle (using Jaap's code or script) whereby I
will be able to place one of my photographs on each side of the puzzle
cube (6 different photos per cube). The goal is to rotate the sides so
that the photos are put together correctly.
I have been in contact via email with the puzzle's author, Jaap
Scherphuis, and he emailed me that I can use his puzzle's code or
script (whichever it is), and place my photos in the puzzle. In return,
Jaap would like to get the code or script that is created. When I spoke
with Jaap by email several months ago he told me he was too busy to
help me at that time.
So, I am looking for a person to help me create a situation whereby I
will be able to include my photographs on the sides of the puzzle with
the images divided on each side and rotatable.
I am interested in learning how to write the code (or script) myself so
I am able to include different photos.
Please let me know if you might offer any assistance.

Hi, I use Crustal 11.0.
I have a cross Tab. I display the items on the left column and the months horizontally, the items are grouped by category field. The values are the sum of quantities are displayed for each month. Like this:

The problem, I want to add a page header for each page of the report.
When Crystal reports first displays my cross-tab in the designer, CR displays the cross tab in the Report header section. I d like to add text or image for each page and not only at the begining of my Cross-Tab.
If I just add an image or text at the top of the report designer, which is my report header, I get the image or text only on the begining of the 1st page of my report but never in the other following pages.
If I try to work around the problem and move the cross Tab to a group section instead, and then put the Image in the group header, I get what I want, but the problem is that:
The columns header: Jan, February....December are displayed for each group of my report and not only in the beginning of the report. I get something like this:

you could do for example in the wdDoInit() of the view
wdContext.currentContextElement().setPicture("picture.gif");
Now you assign this context variable to the Tab using the Tab_header's imageSource-Property. When you click on its value column, you see a button with three dots on it. If you click on this button, you will get all context nodes and attributes for this View. Usable variables are clearly marked, you now choose the one named Picture or what ever name you prefer to use. But it must correspond to the one set in the wdDoInit.
I think setting a picture (not necessarily for the tab-page) is done in one of the excellent tutorials. If you are a newcomer I strongly recommend doing some of the tutorials. I have learned tremendously from them.

How to send as iMessage instead of text?
I just got the iphone 5c and i was trying to figure out how to send a text as an imessage (blue) instead of a sms (green). When i start a conversation with contacts that i KNOW have imessage turned on, it always sends as a text! How can I fix this? I dont want to completely stop sms with other non iphone users, but i want to be able to send imessages to iphone users.
