How do I query on available groups?

Hi all,
We are working on a front-end to create users, rather than using the user administration form. We would like to create a dynamic list if our groups on a form, but we do not know where to get the list of groups from. We are on APEX 4.1.

APEX_WORKSPACE_GROUPS
APEX_WORKSPACE_GROUP_USERS
I used this SQL to find them:

Need to Query Local Admin Group

I wrote (copied) some PowerShell code that will add a Domain User to the Local Admin Group using ADSI.

$AdminGroup.add($GuestPC)
I want to add an If - Else statement to check if the Domain User is already in the Administrators group.
I found this code:

This code actually lists the members of the Administrators Group. Maybe its early or I did not get enough sleep, but I cannot figure out how to just query the Administators group for $GuestPC and if it is there don't do anything, but if it is not there
add it using the above code.
Something easy for someone out there I hope?

FieldPoint Explorer is no longer used to configure FieldPoint systems. However, I do not think that the configuring your system in FieldPoint Explorer is causing the error.
FieldPoint systems are now setup in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX). Information on setting up FieldPoint systems in MAX can be found in the MAX help under: Installed Products>> FieldPoint. Also, I recommend upgrading to the latest FieldPoint driver and version of MAX. The FieldPoint VI's will be slightly different when you upgrade, so there is a good chance that this will eliminate the error.

please post you question on failover clusters in the cluster forum. THey will explain how this works and point you at scipts.

You are trying to implement manually what should be happening automatically in the cluster. If the primary SQL Server becomes unavailable in the data center, it should fail over to the secondary SQL Server automatically. Is that not working?
You also might want to run this configuration by some SQL experts. I am not a SQL expert, but if you have both hosts in the data center in a cluster, there is no need for replication between those two nodes as they would be accessing
the database from some form of shared storage. Then it looks like you are trying to implement Always On to the DR site. I'm not sure you can mix both types of failover in a single configuration.
FYI, it would make more sense to establish a file share witness in your DR site instead of placing a third node in the data center for Node Majority quorum.

How do I remove a node from Always on Availability Group in SQL 2012

Hello I was wondering if anyone could tell me to remove a node from an AOG group in SQL 2012. We currently have a two node Always on availability group and I need to replace one of the servers. My plan is to bring the
new server on to the group then remove the old server and I am having issues finding documentation on this. Could someone explain how to do this or if it is even possible.

After the new server is added to the cluster and the AG, remove the old one by first
ALTER AVAILABILITY GROUP [YourAG]
REMOVE REPLICA ON N'OldServer';
Remove a Secondary Replica from an Availability Group
Then evict the old server from the cluster with the cluster administrator or
Remove-ClusterNode OldServer
Remember to verify the quorum configuration after adding the new server and removing the old server.

Availability Group sync - How does it work?

Hi everyone,
I am new to SQL Availability Groups and have problems understanding the sync mechanism. I did not find proper answer on my search.
I'd like to know how to sync between the databases works. To my understanding there are 2 possibilities.
1) The listener cares to keep the data synced. Whenever the listener gets a (write) request it sends it to all nodes and in synchronous state it waits for ack.
2) The sync happens on the database level. The primary node receives the request and sends it to the replicas server.
Would be nice if someone could shortly explain the correct mechanism to me.

The short answer is that the primary sends log blocks to the replicas of the databases in its' group. When they are sent depends on if it's synchronous or asynchronous.

How can you change data on a SQL 2012 application database that uses availability groups from BizTalk server?

If you use the WCF-SQL adapter it is recommend that you set UseAmbientTransaction to true if you are changing data. I think this requires MSDTC to be enabled on the SQL server that you are changing the data on. (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd787981.aspx)
I think that Availability groups does not support MSDTC. (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms366279.aspx).

Node1 and Node2 are in windows cluster
Node1 has SQL Server Database engine Instance1 as Standalone
Node2 has SQL Server Database engine Instance2 as Standalone
Instance1 and Instance2 configured for Always On availability group with Listener.
Now we have to steup SSAS instance with High availibilty. I know we have only option is to install cluster SSAS instance.
Can some one provide information below.
1. How to steup Cluster SSAS instance in this servers.
2. Is this will have any dependancy on exisiting Listner name.
3. Is this affects the availiblity groups, if SSAS instance failed over to another node.

You will need to have SSAS installed as a clustered instance with shared storage. Refer to the whitepaper from this MSDN article
How To Cluster SQL Server Analysis Services
Availability Group is in it's own Role/Resource Group. When you create the clustered SSAS, it will create its own Role/Resource Group. This means that it will require its own virtual network name and virtual IP address and will not affect the existing Availability
Group. You can also have it on the existing Availability Group if you want to. However, you need to decide if you want SSAS to failover with the Availability Group or not. Your design choices will depend on that decision.

How do I create a query based distibution group in Exchange 2010?

We have just moved onto exchange 2010 and I wanting to create query based distribution groups based on OU's. As there is now wizard within 2010 I am a little unsure as to how to go about this. I am led to believe I now need a scritp to do this.

Query OTL using group

I'm new in OTL quering...
In our business, we have create some group in OTL to allow supervisor to enter employee time card.
For example, a IT Supervisor with employee id 451, has a group named "451-Dept IT", to manage 6 employee time card entry.
Then an other supervisor of this same department has employee id 857, has a group named "857-Dept IT" to manage the 6 same employee time card entry, because these supervisor are in cross-shift rotation.
And, we have new supervisor who start job at 10-mar-2013, that replace 857 and has 968 as employee id, and we also create new group "968-Dept IT" to entry It 6 employee time card.
has you see, the group "857-Dept IT" is not now use, but how to query in OTL to only the available group in particular period or week work day.
If I have a period like 17-mar-2013 to 23-mar-2013, how to know available group.

There are 2 seeded reaponsibilities. 1) OTL Limited Time Keeper (The Timekeeper can view his own Group) 2) OTL Super Time Keeper ( The Time Keeper can view all Time Keeper Groups. "OTL Super Time Keeper" responsibility..in the Time Keeper Entry Navigation.. you can view/select any Group that was created using Time Keeper Group. Navigation.

How do I copy and print groups(with contact information) from address book? I want to copy a group of contacts in list form that ideally I can paste into Excel.

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking. If you are coming from pre-Mountain Lion, then Address Book has changed to Contacts.
Open Contacts.
Select an Account in the group list, if you want the contact in a specific group. If Groups aren't showing, you can display them from the View menu.
Click the Add card button ( + ).
Enter the information for the contact.
If you need multiple entries for a particular field type, a new blank entry will show up below the one you are adding.
If you need other fields, use the Card menu to Add a new field type.
If you want to change the default fields available when you create a new card, choose Edit Template…
If you have sent emails to someone and you want to get that address to add to a Contact, use the Previous Recipients command in the View menu in Mail.
If you need to add a new Group, hover the cursor over the account name, and a + button will appear. Click it.
